USA: Luxury Camping Cars

2023 ж. 14 Қар.
770 410 Рет қаралды

Forget cramped caravans, these luxury camping cars are more like palaces on wheels. Terri and Richard’s is the size of a bus, complete with made-to-measure marble kitchens and bathroom, extendable surfaces and heated toilet seats. It cost over $2 million but enables them to escape the heat of Florida every summer for Michigan. They’re what’s known as ’snowbirds’, spending seasons living in other states.
On average, snowbirds change their cars every two years, turbo charging the luxury van market. The market is also boosted by Hollywood stars. Mariah Carey’s features side extensions and an unfolding second floor that can be transformed into a dance floor! Other camping cars come with a helicopter pad on the roof.
Over a million Americans have adopted the ’nomad’ way of life. Some, like Richard, are ‘part timers’, travelling for a few weeks alongside their work. Others, like, Jennifer and JR, who live aboard their bus with their two children, have left their old life behind completely and embraced life on the road.

    • Actually quite disgusting how he said; what are “you” going to do with the kids for the next week/7 days. Both of them created those cutlets and both can nurture them as they grow up. Wait till the kids are 13 to 15 years old, if you don’t get the Wi-Fi under control now, especially being on the road, it’ll be even tougher times I had, no joke!

  • Wow, these luxury campers are truly amazing. It's like a hotel room. It’s amazing that you can have such a luxurious experience while camping. The interior facilities are also very clean and luxurious. The bathroom is spacious and even has a shower, which is surprising. It would be like a dream to be able to stay this comfortable while traveling in a camping car. I am also traveling in a camping car in Korea, but I would like to try a second car.

  • 2 million dollar bus w a 40inch tv 😅

    @TRICHOMETRIST@TRICHOMETRIST6 ай бұрын
    • Actually..... a 40in TV is the perfect size. The "suggested" viewing distance recommended by manufacturers is far too close. They recommend four feet away from a 65in screen is optimal. This simply is not true. A few months after getting my new rig I replaced the 65 inch in the living room with a 50 inch. A few weeks later the 50 inch in the bedroom was replaced with a 40in. A TV can be too big when sitting just ten feet away. It's difficult to take in what your watching when looking around the picture, rather than viewing the entire picture. Aside from viewing comfort, a TV that's too large can be harmful to the eyes. We're in the early stages of understanding the long term effect of LED on our eyes. That said I am did have the 50in mounted on an articulated arm in the basement for group viewing. The existing outdoor 32in TV is too small and too high for group viewing while seated. They're set up to view the same input or individual inputs. Great for viewing different games. If only i had room for a bookie booth to cash in. Hmmm.....

  • A great potential lifestyle as I sit in a diesel pusher coach.. . Incorrect and misleading, Labeling a 1/2 A million dollar. Coach as a camper van is misleading and ridiculous... I had a greyhound bus once in a while. I called it a bus just for short although it was a coach fully converted.. Let's see if the rig has airbreaks and the Diesel engine. It is pretty far from being a van camper van or camper that it is not.. As the same calling, a travel trailer a camper is so misleading. A camper is something you back under and you put it on your pickup truck.. A general term would be you have an r v. When did fools start calling campers everything under the Sun? So you don't really know what they're talking about. A camper is loaded on your truck a trailer is towed behind... A motor home could be I suppose a class c. But the class b was definitely a camper van.. Again, anything with airbreaks and a diesel engine in the back is definitely a diesel pusher coach.. Regarding the article and some comments criticizing the kid's schooling.... What are they teachers for an occupation... Currently it is proven that the illegal immigrants have Swarmed and taken over schools, Even during covid, My son's Schooling was really. Sub par. I will venture to say public school is really a pathetic excuse that does not prepare Any child for practical life.. I teach my son about business and real estate even when he was nine years old.. At age fifteen he already knew how to drive a stick shift.. And already purchased. Some crypto, All on is. Own.. Many parents are just plain lazy and they don't teach their child. Anything assuming that that is the job of the public school. Manners included.. Please note if you have a diesel coach. And it drives like c*** getting blowing all over the road. Note a steering stabilizing unit will make a world of difference... As in a big. Shock absorber on. The steering.. They pretty much all drive like c***Unless you have a greyhound bus, that still got tight steering.🙏🙏

  • the couple with the kids really make a mistake especially with kids. Apparently the dad only cares about himself and dragged his family into this. He should of done this when he is single. • Pretty ignorant statement. Homeschooled kids still have to pass normal tests and curriculum. Regular school has so much wasted time that you can teach a couple kids everything needed in way less time then what a public school offers. Also a lot of home school kids I’ve met are better off as most of their socialization is with adults so they are well spoken and mature unlike public school kids. They also usually didn’t get into drugs and theft and other stuff that happens in public and private schools. Also since you obviously didn’t listen, probably from your public school education, they said 15min classes, not 5min a day genius. Nice try marginalizing a lifestyle you just don’t understand.

      @redman2751@redman27515 ай бұрын
    • I disagree with your comment. Like my mother always said a field trip OUT of the classroom you learn way more that day than you ever would in the classroom that day. So these kids on the road are getting homeschooled and are getting socialized and learning life lessons and their parents are intelligent and I’m sure they’re getting way more out of life than they would be sitting in a Classroom . Just my humble opinion. 21:42

      @andrewmoore3491@andrewmoore34915 ай бұрын
    • Government schools have always been a joke! Overcrowded, poor teachers & very little, one-on-one time with your child & the teacher. Like teaching about the USA going to the moon! Blatant LIE. No one went to the moon. Lots of what they teach are lies. These kids are extremely blessed to have smart parents like these people. Learning about mechanical care needed for the camper, meeting different people from all over the world, seeing how different & special each state is, seeing museums showing our history, learning how a home takes work to keep up & helping cook with mom. Getting outdoors, hiking, seeing nature & animals, being with mom & dad all day, witnessing them maneuver with road maps, weather considerations, finding out from locals how they run their farms, grow certain foods, live their lives. We took our 3 kids camping all the time & it’s our best memories. It’s opening kids up to the real world we live in & a true adventure around every corner. 😊

    • It is more common in Western Europe than you would think. Germans are very fond of their camper vans and spending prolonged time in those.

    • @@doll5219 yes I live in Europe and spend 3 months every summer travelling around Europe in a campervan. My point was that in Europe even the biggest campers are way, way smaller and less ostentatious than the monsters seen in this video.

    • @@CG-99 There are not that many, however you can encounter them in more costly locations. Seen two at the same time in Dolomites this year. Might just depend on where do you travel. As shown in the video, they select upscale locations to stand at.
