Friday Night Funkin' is a Newgrounds rhythm game made in HaxeFlixel originally created for Ludum Dare 47. Programmed by ninjamuffin99 with a soundtrack produced by Kawai Sprite and artwork created by PhantomArcade and evilsk8r, the game can be played on Newgrounds or played/downloaded for free on Itch.io.
The plot of the game centers around Boyfriend trying to hook up with Girlfriend, but her ex-rockstar father Daddy Dearest doesn't approve of him. It's up to Boyfriend to rap battle his way through him and anyone else that stands in his way so that he can finally get freaky! Think you got what it takes?
Friday Night Funkin' is an ongoing project that will continue to receive updates, bug fixes and new content. A full version of the game is currently in development, having been successfully funded via a Kickstarter campaign. Check the changelog here for information on the latest updates. The game is also open source to allow users to mod or simply look through its assets. Download the game files here.

    • I wonder what led DD to break the deal he and Spirit had during the faceoff against Corruption, maybe he thought the deal was no longer necessary after it was over? Either that or he doesn't know that BF is actually dead and was purposely trying to expel Spirit to see if he truly was alive.

  • I think the story here is that DD is trying to get bf back by expelling spirit but what he doesn’t know is that bf is dead and that if he expels spirit , then both will die and he will just get a dead body.

    • exactly! BF lost the battle still in his Soul + glitch form, with all this spirit excluded him from his body and took possession. But like everything there is hope, I think that Spirit BF has already said that BF is dead and with that DD wants to resurrect him.

    • Even if DD was successful in removing the spirit from within him and managed to resurrect the BF somehow, the BF would only have a few moments to live because he would basically become dead and alive and his body was "fading away" since the spirit It uses a lot of power and BF's human body can't handle making those particles leave his body is what I think.
