  • Once again, Alanis Morisette can describe in words, something that words cannot simply describe. Awesome. A tear trickles down my face for all who just simply need to rest, slow down, and live life the way they can best live and rest, have peace, there should be a way for that to happen in society. Thank you.

    • I feel this song resonates strongly with so many individuals currently going through so much... Whether it's depression, anxiety, fear, anger, isolation, uncertainty, ect. I was diagnosed with agoraphobia, bipolar 1 and Complex-PTSD almost a decade ago... and the stigma surrounding mental health is still very much alive in the public consciousness. (or subconscious) Mental health is physical health, and vice-versa. So much of our long term physical health has direct ties to our mental health... But the stigma is perpetuated through misinformation, shame, fear of people looking at you differently... The list goes on and on. I mean think of how mental illness is portrayed in films... (M. Night Shamalyan is a perfect example. 75% of his movies have a character suffering from some mental illness that ends up being the "bad guy" or the dangerous one: The Village, Split, The Visit, Old, ect.) So songs like this give me hope... hope that someday soon EVERYONE will be more conscious of their mental health - and will have more empathy for those of us who have been fighting a silent war within our minds... but instead of receiving praise and accolades for our accomplishments, we receive judgement. Sometimes all it takes is a smile... or one kind word... or a bit of validation... or a shoulder to lean on and someone to talk to. Be the change you want to see in others. Proactively seek out support, so that you don't have to hide your struggles... And maybe someday you'll be in a position to be that support for someone else. Sending warm thoughts of understanding. We ARE warriors - regardless of what our minds (and society) tell us. 🌻💪😊🙏

    • @@michele21auntiem Fighting internal battles is draining, and people who don't have similar struggles don't understand. Listen to what your mind and body are telling you, my friend. • Something about her being back is just very comforting to me, its almost like that one relative you felt so comfortable with but had not seen for 20 years and then suddenly comes back and makes you feel like its all gonna be ok again. Maybe im just strange but thats how her presence and voice make me feel when i listen to her all these years later. This song also pull at my heart, fighting with depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder after coming back from the military really takes a toll on your mental health, physical state and soul especially when nobody close to you understands what you are going through or dont care to know so sometimes it takes a special song like this to remind ones self to look inside and keep loving who you are no matter what flaws you may have.

  • Beautiful voice as always but my goodness how she’s changed. I never expected to see a day where Alanis Morissette would LOOK like a suburban mother. Don’t get me wrong. She’s still as physically beautiful as she always has been…it’s just a different kind now. She’s gone from “celebrity” gorgeous to “mature badass executive with a family” gorgeous. I think it’s amazing, really.
