If you’re new to my channel, my name is Alex Hormozi. I’m the founder and managing partner of Acquisition.com. It’s a family office, which is just a formal way of saying we invest our own money into companies. Our 10 portfolio companies bring in over $200,000,000+ per year. Our ownership stake varies between 20% and 100% of them. Given this is a YT channel, and anyone can claim anything, I’ll give you some stuff you can google to verify below.
How I got here…
21: Graduated Vanderbitl in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
31 yrs old: Started our family office Acquisition.com. We invest and scale companies using the $42M in distributions we had taken + the cash from the $46.2M exit.
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.
34 yrs old: I became co-owner of Skool.com to help the many people who want to start a business online do so.
Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money - not youtube videos).
To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.
You either get an epic outcome or an epic story. Both mean you win.
Keep crushing. May your desires be greater than your obstacles.
Never quit,
Alex
FULL DISCLOSURE
I make content to make money - just - on a longer time horizon than most. I want to build trust with business owners so we can find the best ones and help them scale. And if they’re awesome, write them a check and go all the way as partners.

    • But how many people are going to buy million dollar cars? Not very many. You going to bet your business on that? I know more wealthy people who sell large quantities of products to large amounts of customers not the other way around hoping a very specific niche of a few very wealthy people might buy 1 or 2 products from them someday. That's freaking ridiculous nonsense, and who is to say or promise that it will ever even sell ever? Your on drugs man. Even idiots now a days can become wealthy.

    • but this is not a secret, the competition is insanely high when it comes to sell to the rich people, plus most of us don't have access to these people, and usually they got influenced by their managers not by random sales men!

  • Below is a quick summary of the key points from this insightful video: 1. Sell to rich people until you have the money to sell to all the poor people. The middle is where you get killed. 2. You lack priorities, not information. Problems are easy to solve if you know what you are after. 3. Things are hard because your team isn’t as good as you think they are. Your standards are too low. 4. Lots of rules mean you have dumb people. 5. If you want to get bigger, get better. Better leads to growth; bigger leads to bloat. 6. You work all day but you can’t get anything done because you allow too many things that don’t matter to distract you. Sometimes you have to let the fires burn. 7. A brand takes a long time to build but is the most valuable thing you can own. 8. You need to know the inputs and outputs of your money-making system, broken down to the absolute smallest action, so that you can crank the hell out of it. 9. Stop looking for hacks. 10. The best people cost more but make way more than they cost. 11. The big, obvious thing is the problem, not the hundred other things.

Loved the short bit on the ad creation process about a third of the way through. To the person on his team analyzing the comments, please encourage him to make more of this stuff. Love the shift that has been made away from the ADHD content. Thanks, Alex. Appreciate all that you share.

Your standards are too low. #4 (26:59): Lots of rules means you have dumb people * The more competent your people are the less rules you need because they are good at using their own logic and experience #5 (36:29): If you wanna get bigger get better. It gives you the ability to get insane returned on advertising, price far above the market, and keep people buying from you. It’s very hard to imagine something better than that. It just takes time. #8 (1:02:34): You need to know the inputs and outputs of your money making system. Broken down to the absolute smallest action. That way you can crank the crap out of it.

  • Is there a better resource for entrepreneurs at this point in time? Every word he says is GOLDEN. My word Mr Hormozi, take a bow! Hats off to you man and all the effort you are putting in for us out here. Can't thank you enough! Love that you stopped making those 'commercialised' videos. I was afraid you might be taking the route of most KZheadrs, but you have turned it around and I can't get enough. THANK YOU!!!

    • I think it's really unique information that Alex gave us for free, now i know how can i turn me a gym rat, inot a millionaire, and monetize my workouts, by providing value to people that want to look shredded, of course now i have to do ab workout because most people are inspired by ripped 4% body fat guys 😂😂 but I'll handle it, it's really so useful info, just sell something unique to rich, or something cheap but very easy begginer friendly to use for middle class to make their life easier

    • True, A lot of folks downplay the role of advlsors until being burnt by their own emotions. I remember couple summers back, after my lengthy divorce, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat, hence I researched for licensed advisors and came across someone of utmost qualifications. She's helped grow my reserve notwithstanding inflation, from $275k to $850k.

Your content is so good that after finishing watching the video (which I sat uninterrupted without being distracted or bored) I can’t watch anything else, because I know I won’t get nearly as much value as you just provided here. It’s an eye opener.
