  • The nice thing about earthen structures is how consistently thermoregulated they are. In winter a little heat goes a long way and in summer or hot weather it's pleasantly cool. It's very impressive how much energy you put into these builds using all natural materials. Your dog makes the build the cherry on top.

I hope you didn't do too much damage to yourself, Wargeh Bushcraft, and that, if not already fully healed, you're well on the way to being so. • Underestimating injuries can make the difference between life and death. I once had a small log fall directly on my foot. Didn't think much of it, hurt like shit but i tanked through. Next day I couldn't stand up. Tried to get out of the shoe but the pain Was too much. Called a friend who knew my position. Few hours later at the hospital we found out that my foot was broken and the bone was clearly visible and needed operation ASAP to make it work again. If I would have stayed, an infection would have most likely happened because it was all rain and muddy that time. Had a long talk with the doctors what injuries are actually the most terrifying. Bug injuries no doubt but those little scratches and cuts. Clean them immediately. You never know what bacteria you get into the wounds. Infections can come over night and can bring you down very fast if you are exhausted.

Not sure what you take with you in regards to First Aid kit but a Yarrow tincture(stops bleeding) and a Comfrey salve(bruising/broken bones) might come in handy. Oh and an Arnica salve for aches and pains. Not sure where you are in the world but I am sure there are medicinal plants all around you anyway. Those raw onions you eat are good medicine too 😊

  • Few years ago (like 15) our town had many of similar looking shelters but bit bigger it could fit 2 people with makeshift beds for hunters and anglers so they can have a place to stay. They even encourage people to build them to a point that they would give you materials to build them. But then people from towns started to move in saying how hunting and fishing is bad and they started destroying them and people stopped building them.

  • Amazing project...but I´d like to know how that structure reacts to a heavy rain weekend...I tend to think that the floor would turn into a pool too easily. It´s the biggest CON I find to take advantage of the terrain profiles. Water always find the way if you don´t give her an alternative path.
