  • The shockwave travels faster than the normal speed of sound. So you wouldn't hear anything from the explosion until the shockwave reaches you.

    • The shock wave has its own sound if you watch the nuke test its like bang sound

      @Amen-Magi@Amen-Magi2 жыл бұрын
    • @@Amen-Magi You seem to have missed the point. Because of the distance between the camera and the explosion you would not hear anything at the moment of detonation. Think of a thunderstorm, you see the lightening but you don't hear the thunder until a several seconds later. The shockwave compresses the air as it travels through it which means that the shockwave travels faster than normal sound. The shockwave is created at the instant of detonation so there is no sound before it. Therefore you cannot hear any explosion noise until the shockwave reaches you. Therefore all the sound on the video before the shockwave reaches the camera has to be fake.

    • Not true. You would hear the sound from the ground as its much faster. You would hear a rumbling.

    • @@skillercruz5539 Watch this real life blast (US test Buster Dog - 1 November 1951) from the 4:06 point, 21 kilotonnes, 1400 foot airburst - kzhead.info/sun/hN2Lh8pvhICJnHk/bejne.html Although there is no sound you can clearly see the time lag between the flash at 4:09 and the blast at 4:41. The audience was seated six miles from the blast, with the speed of sound at around 760 mph or a little over 12 miles per minute the lag of 32 seconds looks almost exactly right. With surface bursts and or much larger blasts (megatonne range) there would also be a significant seismic wave which would be a lot quicker but it still wouldn't be instantaneous, more like 3-4 seconds. Most nuclear blast sound effects are added in afterwards, the real sound would either be ear shattering (up close) or more like a greatly delayed low rumble (far away).

      @rags417@rags4172 жыл бұрын
    • @Sapientia yeah but the wind would pick up and I suppose it could cause light "rumbling" but that's just wind blowing past our ears. I always felt like the wind would be the spookiest part for people far enough from the heat and shockwave, like feeling a little breeze so far away from the blast while everyone within it would experience their worst nightmare. Both experiences caused by the same bomb. I may be imagining too much.

    • @@sunitadhyani1013 the heat generated by a ThermoNuclear device is up to 20 million degrees. It rides a crest of gamma waves and literally burns the air as it expands. It superheats everything for miles. When the winds reverse to feed the fireball all the superheated material flare from the fresh oxygen and it’s a conflagration. It’s not the light. The heat travels at great speed and, depending on the size of the weapon can cause fatal burns for more than fifteen miles from GZ

    • Negative, the radiation makes up the smallest percentage of energy released. The heat and kinetic nuclear force are what kills everything in the blast radius. While radiation IS the longest lasting effect, it is relative i.e over time, only those who voluntarily seek to go near groud zero and its immediate surroundings are at risk. If a bomb is detonated high in the air for example, such as the Genie or Tsar Bomba, the radiation is minimal as it dissapates in the atmosphere as opposed to penetrating solid matter on the ground, in which case it gets embedded in and irradiates said matter and thus hangs around much longer. The Geiger counter is a cool sound effect though, agreed ✌🏻

Rumble comes first because sound travels faster under ground and the rumble is dirt being sucked like a vacuum because cold heavy air is rushing back and the hot light weight plasma air is trying to find the path of least resistance thus mushroom affect less air the more higher you go.

  • Great visually, but if capable, you can make the ground rambling noise occur fairly quickly after it detonates, like a 1 second long rumble. Then silence. The light will be blinding for the first 10 seconds minimum as the plasma ball rises and slowly cools/becomes shrouded in the dust. Once the Shockwave hits, that's when you'll hear it. It'll be a sudden POW!!! then a low rumble from the large fireball churning. As others have mentioned, folks tend to make common errors with nukes. 1. Sound arrives instantly 2. Bang lasts a while, it doesn't, just like all bombs a nuke rapidly expands for a split second then stops expanding. That's what makes the sound, so the sound would be a BANG or POW and that's it. But it'll be fukin loud and powerful as it's combined with that Shockwave. 3. No ground vibrations, watch the Beirut explosion, youll notice the ground shakes, silence, then the Shockwave strikes. 4. Brightness, it stays bright for a while, longer when detonated in the air. But love the effects regardless, looks good and the Wilson cloud looks good too. Excellent One thing I'd LOVE to see, the double flash when the nuke first sets off.

Even people in bunkers 20 feet underground in a five mile radius would have been killed by the shock wave. Look up Ayrton Senna his deadly F1 crash on YT. He was killed when shoving over the grid and grass at approx 150 miles an hour and hitting the rail sideways. Now imagine getting hit more that ten times as fast and intense.

  • Question is how much is the speed of nuclear bomb detonation. If we coint speed pf TNT as srround 4700 meters per second and some other explosives up to 9000 m/s, how much is at the nucliar explosion. Shock wave is not wind or fire for sure. It something powerful and fust. It's turns into wind probably far away from center, according to power or amount of the charge.

  • clouds are static. In real enviroment clouds are moving with the air that is been pushed away from the ground zero by the shockwave. The shockwave extends equally in the air and on the ground, and right after the shockwave follows the doom, death and destruction that is definitely missing in Your clip. An expanding cloud of dust and debris, flying trees ,cars and all the things the shockwave can push
