    • I can only speak for Puerto Ricans. We are very knowledgeable about our racial history. Every Puerto Rican I know acknowledges that we are descendants of slaves. What we don’t like is to be compared to Black Americans. Which is completely different. We are not rejecting our melanin. We are denying any comparison with African Americans, simply because of culture. It’s the same when some A.A. folks don’t want to be mistaken for Haitian. Some even get highly offended if you tell an African American their Haitian.

      @aishariel9924@aishariel992411 ай бұрын
    • @@aishariel9924 I've come across and many PR's, Mexicans and people from the DR etc who are very anti black. I definitely did not say ALL Puerto Ricans who have melanin ancestry deny it. Matter of fact, most of my non black latino friends are PR and love black people. I'm just talking from experience of a certain group of individuals. Not a whole group or culture. And I get what you mean by not being lumped with a certain group. There's a difference between African Americans, Haitian Americans, Sub-Saharan African Americans etc. I'm Sub-Saharan African American of Cameroon origin and I've been mistaken for Haitian, Jamaican, etc. A black Puerto Rican is not African American. They are Puerto Rican. Afro Latino. So I get it. There's a difference between race and ethnicity.

And jeanie said she had some swag, that she didn’t know where it came from. These Tests should have put an end to Racism, because everyone, is everything. Period. • I remember finding out my DNA from my great grandmother on my mom's side is a culmination of southern, western and east African which came from the slave trade and mixed with a south American native and worked it's way down to my great grandma. She was a very dark Latina even being fresh out of Mexico it was strange because her husband my great grandfather was also Mexican and native Cherokee. His mother was born into the Cherokee tribe that soon found themselves being separated and she met her husband in Texas. So long story short he was more lighter skinned but not by too much lol. But it's funny when I tell people about this because seeing me you couldn't tell as my tan is visible but I am considered a white man. Happens when 2 generations decide its time to go mingle with the white folk

  • "Im brown and black?" says a young confused, girl as she gestures, laughs, prays hands, rocks around and waves with uncontrollable hysterical laughter. Three other girls, one who is reading DNA results, are also dying laughing- trying to regain to continue. "More percents left", someone says. The reader continues reading out DNA percentages. The girls continue roiling and gurgling. "Its why we look alike", says another girl. "WAIT YOU'RE SAYING A LOT OF BLACK AND BROWN STUFF" says another girl. The young, confused woman says, "I am brown and black?".

  • American ignorance kills me. Why is everyone so surprised about Adrienne's ancestry? Don't they teach American history in American schools?

    • I'm African American and our school system is set up this way, unfortunately. I had an idea what all the ladies would be because I'm self taught in different areas. History being one of them.

    • not necessarily American it's a lot more common for blacks to be ignorant about and just say Latinos are white/black and completely ignore the fact that the tan color most likely comes from natives since that DNA is more common and stronger than black in latinos

    • We're not ignorant. And NO they don't teach us this in our American Schools, which is why they are taking the time to find out on their own. It doesn't matter if we find out our ancestry at the age of 5 or 75. We're invested in finding out. Y'all hate Americans so much, we do nothing right, but everyone is so obsessed with coming to the US. Leave us the f*ck alone and get off on our daytime television. The fact you called us ignorant is unnecessary.

    • In America they focus mostly on American history which obviously makes sense. They don't mention anything about Latin American history and all that
