His confidence wasn't the issue, the defensive managers (Benitez, Mourinho & Conte) made his role the hardest out of everyone in the team. He was tasked with being a creator & a goal threat while also having to make up for Hazard, Mata & Fabregas' defensive insufficiencies. That drains the consistency & flair out of you over the years.

Ahead of the 2013-14 season Chelsea had Lampard, Fabregas, Oscar, Hazard, De Bruyne, Mo Salah, Mata listed as midfielders for the season. Nuts!!!

as complete of a profile as you can get. Conte coming in and forcing him to the bench since he didn't suit his ultra defensive 343, leading Oscar to accept a China move was just criminal man. Oscar had everything to be a world beater and he was just barely entering his prime then.
