A Medieval description of Beasts.
A compilation of the ten Bestiary videos. Thanks to everyone who has subscribed because of these. I’ll be taking a short break from the beast videos to work on some other projects, but we’ll return to the Middle Ages later in the spring/early summer.
Enjoy!

The sections read in this video was based upon the translation of a bestiary by T.H. White c.1954 (author of The Once and Future King). The translation is mainly of Cambridge University Library ms. Ii. 4.26 and it seems he used a variety of sources from the 19th century and his own time to aid in this work as well as other manuscripts to fill in for missing pages.
As always: thank you for watching. . . if you enjoyed this video then give it a like.

Wow, terrific effort in this video! Stories I have never heard before, which is surprising, I'm a yt junkie. Sub'd ❤
Thanks for watching!
Your voice makes this beautiful video perfect. Who wrote the delightful accounts of beasts that you read? And what is the background music? Some of it sounds medieval, and some sounds modern.
Thank you! I use a very poor attempt of a British accent, but it seems to work out. The bestiary I read from is a translation done by T H White and I believe it is of the Aberdeen Bestiary. The music I licensed from Epidemic Sound and there were a few artists I would generally use because of that reason…an artist named Deskant was the one I primarily used. Thanks again for watching
Thank you. Gotta find that music!
That’s funny… “some, like the rock dove, prefer a secretive existence…” in their natural desert habitat, perhaps. 😂 I wonder, were feral pigeons flocking in european cities during medieval times? Maybe in the Ottoman Empire… or places where they were kept and bred? And also funny, how some birds have beautiful songs, “like the swan”! 🤔 😆
And "crabs are so called because they are shellfish with legs." Whaaat?
What the f is that beaver story?
That's the kind of story I tell my nieces and nephews when I'm messing with them.
Criminally underrated channel! You seriously deserve a lot of subs and successful channel. Subbing and looking forward to more. I hope things work out for you!
