  • Not hating here, I actually like Dakota’s fighting style and may be ignorance on my part about the PFL, but how does someone come to fight in the ‘Finals’ for a ‘European belt’ against someone with only a 2-1 record? Late replacement? Or just the strange format of the PFL?

    • Exactly. She hasn't gone against anyone good yet, and people ae saying she is the greatest fighter out there. Once she goes against someone with a decent record, who can grapple, she will get destroyed. She has recently said she is not sure about her future in MMA. Probably because she knows she will face better opponents someday and will get her ass kicked.

    • She did not look particularly adept at stuffing takedowns here. Scatizzi was too small to finish them, but she had her hands locked multiple times. Dakota needs to work on stopping that because bigger and better opponents will take her down if she defends like that.

  • What a fighter. I’m very happy that these winning fighters are getting a $100,000.00 for this challenge; however, does this amount of cash actually make a difference in a fighters income? They had to fight many times in a short period of time, which means more time training. So after all the bills are paid will these prize fighters be ahead of the game, cause for me, that’s all this challenge should have been about. You win, you actually win. I hope they won because it was very entertaining and had to be extremely difficult for the fighters.

  • I don't get it, how is blue "an MMA specialist after only 3 fights? When will wrestlers learn? If wrestling is your only strong weapon, good strikers with adequate anti-wrestling (take down defense) are GOING to kick your ass It's better to be a good striker with adequate wrestling than a wrestling specialist with no other strong weapons

    @enricoabrahams5061@enricoabrahams50612 ай бұрын
    • It’s about the fighter not the style, most of the UFC champs have historically been grappling heavy. In this case, the problem was that Scatizzi thought she could clinch with a longer opponent that also happens to be a multiple time muay thai champ. Of course she was gonna get kneed to death

      @peterk2735@peterk27352 ай бұрын
    • @@peterk2735 being grappling heavy (if you're referring to BJJ, sometimes the commentators mix up wresting and grappling) still works because a high level grappler can use a wrestler's takedowns against them to work submissions off their back, so that being a good wrestler against a BJJ specialist actually plays into the grappler's game, which once again makes my point...a wrestler with no other strong weapons is toast. Either a striker with strong take down defense is going to stuff their game, or a grappler is going to use their game to their own advantage. A wrestler with bad striking usually shoots when they're losing the striking battle, sort of like "oh crap I'm in trouble, I gotta shoot" whereas a wrestler who's also a good striker can use their strikers to setup their shot from a more dominant position Manon Fiori (I butchered her name surely) is a high-level kickboxer who has also become a decent wrestler....not necessarily a high level wrestler, but because she's a high level kickboxer, she can use her striking to setup her wrestling beautifully. There's a fight between her and Amanda Lino from South Africa where I first saw her, if you can find the correct spelling of her name there then you can use it to see her other fights, she's quite impressive
