A good helper makes life so much easier. Especially if they are cute👍😂🥰
Jamaica 🇯🇲 here Looking awesome guys wow 😮 what a great idea I want you to enjoy what your doing and your not wasting money your going to enjoy living in the house blessings
Dude climbing those hills show how dedicated you are to your passion for your creativity
You do what you got to do to live out your dreams!
Yeeeesss, I like the long videos!! I don't pay for cable so you guys are my daily TV intake 😂🤣 👏👏👏
You and Jaylena work so well together. Gotta say, even if only briefly, you both seem much happier on the channels while together.
ive been watching these videos for days now and you can literaly tell the love she still has for you no matter what had happened you can just see it in the way she looks at you and continues to look at your lips
I enjoy these videos when you actually get something done.
I'm addicted to this channel. Opening scene, I'm like wow, I forgot how pretty the midwest was, then you're running back up the hill and I thought, "Eeek, a snake!" Yep, I'm liking Alaska!
Your so Bad Ass cutting that tree ! I had my hands over my mouth while you were standing on one tree to cut the next. You and Jayleena are doing awesome on everything including your friendship. 💪🙏🇺🇸
Drywall mud is much easier to work if you "blend" it first. To do: Dump the whole bucket of mud into a larger bucket, add some water, blend with a drill & paint mixer. Add water to desired thickness. Mud will be nice & creamy, like frosting, and flow from the grout bag. Then you can tool it however you wish. Always wet inside of bag before mud goes in too.
Wow. Incredible. Jason, you are a master jack of all trades. Thx for sharing your journey with us!
He Is So Cool!!! He & Jaylena Both, Love Them, Blessings!😇
Jason, you are a genius! I love the knotty pine. The cord wood looks amazing. It's fun to see the inside coming together. I'm glad Jaylena is there with you, she is such a good helper. Together your both a great team.
Even the dog was smart enough to sit and watch you going up and down the hill. :)
You and Jaylena make a great team.
Jason its always nice to work with your amazing assistant JAYLENA. Hopefully her next Van adventure goes well. There will be some awesome trips to come. The Sawyers are true friends and blessings to have. The ceilings and walls is making the tiny house feel like a cabin retreat. With insulation and a little wood stove will keep you warm this winter. I know your sealing up every crack because snakes and mice can do wonders. One year ago you two were completing the Ranch project. Blessings Crockers
Jason my mom was a cake decorator for 50 years. If you twist the back of the bag, where you hand is it will be easier to come out at the tip...just a helpful hint
Anything Natural, Loving it all! Thumbs Up for the Amish! Love Your Design Idea! Love You Crocker Family, Your The Best! Blessings!😇
Jason, check to see if any cell companies want to put a tower on the top of your property, they pay you rent every month. Plus you will have great reception as well as your neighbors. Just an idea Love what you are doing in and out on your homestead!
That sure looks like a good friendship that you have with the Sawyers.
Have the sills on the window be big enough to be a 'shelf' so you can set a a cup or whatever on it...I like seeing the bark and having the rounds stand proud of the grout.. I wouldn't fill all to the top.. It looks fine on camera Jason!
Yayyyy! Chaps and safety glasses...good man👍
Loyal Soyer..Bless his feeble heart. He is just precious.
Lookin' Good, Kid. I have no tips to give you, so I trust your judgment. So glad to see the safety gear (chaps) while using the chainsaw. The tongue & groove looks great, as well as the faux cord wood wall. Keep on keepin' on!!! mom
Great work Jason. Jaylena you're a hard worker.Glad Jacob was able to help you get the lumber you needed. Loving your video on working on the house.
Decorating that wall with spackle using that bag, it almost looks like frosting a cake because we use small bags like that to decorated a cake. 😊😊😊
Jason, I can "see" what you are trying to do. I think I would try it with more of the bigger pieces of "cord" wood and less on the small pieces. As far as the mortar goes, I'd try a wet brush when you try to smooth it out. I think if you went with more of the larger pieces of wood and less of the little ones, you could still use less of the mortar?? I did see where someone else had said to only do the one wall as a feature wall of cord wood. Then do the corrugated metal on the other three walls. Either way, it's looking good!!! Cannot wait to see it all finished out!!! Thank you for sharing your lives Jason and Jaylena. It is much appreciated even if we don't say it often. Thank you.
My husband and I just finished putting car side in all the rooms of our house. The stuff is so easy to work with and looks awesome and amazing. We just love it good choice Jason.
I think I would have put the speckle on first then push the wood rounds in and the nailed in then round
Same thing I'd of done
I was just going to say that could still nail it as well
Rustic look..I finished a wall with brick using that method...
I’m not in construction and thought the same thing. I figured he had a reason for not doing it that way.
Was thinking the same thing.
I just wanted to say how awesome I think it is that you 2 rekindled your friendship and are able to help each other out! Great job on everything as well as vlogging. I can't imagine all the work it must be to do it all.
One secret to great drywall is to add water to your mud. I'm thinking it would work here too. It will make your mud go farther, it will go through those icing bags easier and it's much easier to spread and finish. Maybe you are done already, then forget this, if not, maybe give it a try.
The wainscoting with slabs of trees you did with the tongue and groove looks awesome!!!!
There are some great ideas on here today. Jason, you will really learn a lot reading these comments. I especially liked the idea of a rope between trees to help get up the hill. Also, the idea of putting the spackle on and pressing the wood into it could save some time and have a neat look. The walls look awesome.
Where you did the rounds, if you had painted the background white you could’ve saved yourself a ton of time on the spackling because you wanted it had to cover all of the plywood you could’ve just smeared some in and if you missed a little spot it would’ve been white anyway. You could even spread the spackle on before you put the rounds on and just usedA trowel to get a rough flare on there to cover the wood and then just push the rounds into it with a couple of nails. It would’ve just saved you a ton of time and then you could’ve just added more spackle at the very end just to get the smooth look you wanted. When I prepared rock walls that were similar to this and it had mortar in between the rocks, it was an exterior and the mortar was darker and dirty, I found if I mixed a little bit of dirt in with the mortar give it a really age to look and it looks more natural because it was dirty and the mortar wasn’t all one color because it had dirt in it it just looked more natural. On some areas I just put new mortar in and took a handful of dirt and pressed it in and then use the paint brush to clean it off after it dried and some of it just stuck in there but it give it a really natural texture. Another suggestion, cut your plywood and fit it first and then do this flat and then put your plywood in place after it’s complete. Just mark a couple areas or put the screw halfway in so you know where your studs are, but that might be a lot easier
Also, to color drywall mud use paint first instead of water when blending. Added bonus if u add too much or not enuf paint in different batches it will add to the aged look.
Every time I watch your videos I am blown away by your photography and editing skills I believe the skills you have in that area are one of the reasons I keep coming back for more I’ve been watching yawls channel since you were doing the shed the house and I am never disappointed when I click on a video thank you for everything you do I’m rooting for you and Jay Lena
Thank you so much! That means a lot to me
I think after last winter and slogging down the hill to get to the creek, it would be a good idea to make a rustic stairway down the hill. Peg a log about 5' long to keep it from rolling, then backfill it with rocks and dirt, board or flat rounds for the treads. Lather, rinse, repeat. You've got all the tools there to do it too. It could be a great way to make that hillside more useful too... terraces and build some garden beds, grow your own food. Lots of cool projects.
After the first trip up the hill.. bandit just waits for you at the top
Chrissy D that’s exactly what I was thinking. Yup, I’m tired Jason, I’m just going to sit here and wait for ya to come back up... haha
I laughed at that too.. smart dog!
I’m loving 💕 your idea with the walls. You’re so creative, goes with that busy mind of yours. Also love the way your animals wonder around with you.
I absolutely LOVE how you are doing the walls!
Wow Jason you and Jayleana get so much hard work done together really fast. I love the ideals you have.
That makes great accent wall but I think it will be a little overwhelming to do all walls like that. I think doing the wainscot with pine boards running vertically would be a good look.
Especially since its such a small room.
That's going to look awesome! You are a man of all trades.... Now you are designing! Two thumbs up!👍👍
I am so excited you put on safety gear, now I can subscribe to your channel again!
Sooo cute how your children follow you everywhere..😁
Bandit got smart - sit and watch you go up and down the hill.
Eunice Henderson 😍Dogs are so precious
Stop stressing Jason, it looks great!!!!
Yup smart pup!!🥰
Such good friends you all are the best people ❤️🇦🇺❤️👍👍
The fact that you were spraying the spray foam and I started cramming my neck to get a better view 🤦🏽♀️ forgot I was watching through a phone
Jason I like the tongue and grove as it has a clean look to it. The bottom of the walls are going to look real nice when you get finished. Amazing work. Thanks and can't wait to see it finished.
This is art! It would be cool in the center part of the wall where it would be seen more. Super artsy.
I love ur ideas and it is all coming together. I’m glad Jalena is there to help u.
Goodmorning! Jason, and Jaylena, what can I say more my favorite peeps as always the tiny house is coming along and looking awesome! cant wait to see more hope y'all have a wonderful and amazing day... 😊❤💙💚💛
I really like the wood rounds that's a unique idea. I think it will look awesome when you get the inside complete 😉 😀
The walls look GREAT !!! Y'All done a Outstanding Job !
I like your room when you get done with it, it will look great. Glad you got to start the inside of your house.
2Pints=1 quart (4 cups) 4 quarts = 1 gallon (16 cups) I love your room so far! The T&G is beautiful along with the rounds! Can hardly wait to see it finished!
Whenever we used a bucket either size of premixed plaster / sheetrock mud we used a paddle mixer tool that we connected to a drill to mix it first. For a smoother easier to use product you can adjust the thickness by adding water until you get the consistency that is easiest for you to work with. This would make it easier to use the bags you purchased. I just thought I'd mention this in case you hadn't thought about it before. Stay happy, healthy, hydrated and safe. God bless.
Your joy lies within you.
Yeaaaaaaaaaaa! You are getting it done. It's going to look awesome! When you start to smooth the plaster, dampen the brush a little and it glides better. Blessings
Great thinking outside the box again Jason. I think your corded look is very unique. Hugs to Y'all
That is looking awesome. I can't wait to see your office finished. God Bless you both
Once again you two did a amazing job . I love the walls .
Love the tongue and groove siding. Undecided about the logs. 😊
I love that faux cord wood wall. I think it's beautiful. Good job!
I love what you're doing because I think it gives that room the wow factor 🤩❤❤❤
Jason nice view, it looks good. Expressing yourself. Thank you for being genuine about your sponsorship.
You might could water the spackling down a little bit and be easier to squeeze
Awesome show, learning how to be a carpenter pretty much. I enjoy watching shows like this on you tube very motivating!
It looks awesome from where I stand.....other people's suggestions are great but don't over think it just follow YOUR head and heart because you have terrific instinct/common sense. You were raised the Texas way👍
Jason, have you thought about putting a rope from tree to tree just between the steepest parts, high enough the goats cant get it, but that would give you something like a "swinging bridge " style hand rail to help you get between the steepest "slippery" spots... Just a thought so you don't slip so easily. ( a swinging bridge from the top to a small elevated deck built on the side of the hill... Aaaaa~mazing) Great video! Be Blessed,
Could even do a Pulley system from top to bottom to help haul those loads back up.
cam gambl ,Mmmmm🧐Nice Idea! He Could Build that too! A Man Indeed He Is, Not Afraid of Hard Work/Labor! A Sturdy Ramp, One perhaps Sturdy and Strong enough to drive a cart down and up! Blessings!😇
You are very talented young people with the ability to make a vision come to be! Though there may be rules to building it does not mean they cannot be changed or modified. It is wonderful to see your vision come to be. Thank you for keeping me sane through this horrible year of 2020💞☺️🙏☕!!
The cord wood walls idea is awesome! I really like it.
Love the idea with the log piece,I would have put in a light in the ceiling maybe for a fan
So glad you post something new miss seeing how things with Tiny house. Watch your friends he so funny.
This video should've been titled " labor of love" you only said it 4times. LoL. Thank you for the content.
Looking great ,what a wonderful idea for the walls. A lot of work but you must be very pleased with how your room is looking.
Nice !! Looking real nice Jason I can just inagine when its complete🔥😃🙌 .after completing everything on the house and. the van you guys really need a long and relaxing vacation..just eat and drink some good meal and drinks..you work hard Jason so you deserve a nice vacation just a suggestion my brother. Blessings to you J and J🙏🙏💝💙
As soon as l saw your notification l dropped what l was doing, l like the walls but yes l agree it needs more to fill the gaps, stay safe and have a nice day thanks for sharing.
I’ve seen some people paint their wall black or basically the same color of the chinking. That’s so creative!
Its great how you wont just say whatever they want you to for money ! ! ! Much Love and Respect for that ! ! !
Please just do an accent wall with the cord wood and and other limbs. It will be WAY busy with it all done. It's such a neat idea and will look great!
Jason - looks great in your new office! Since you’re saying the ‘cord wood’ is such a pain to do...why not finish the first wall as a feature wall and finish the other 3 walls with corrugated metal! I’ve seen that done and with the trim, it’ll look awesome! Just a thought... Love your videos, and rooting for you and Jaylena to both have wonderful lives - however God works that out for you! God Bless you both!!!
I like your videos...always. I enjoyed it. God bless you both.
Best put screen on the openings from the metal roof. You'll have critters coming in and making a home. :)
Wet the brush before going over the plaster, it will smooth it out better.👍 it’s looking good.👍
Love off grid life Wish I was younger Keep up the great work 😚 and be safe
I was a Contractor with my husband 20 years before divorce. YYou are doing a great job!😃
Cord wood is AWESOME!! Natural I love it
You two work like a well oiled machine. It looks amazing.
....and the Creativity Continues! Looking awesome!!! This just keeps getting better and better, seriously!!! 100k subs very soon, no doubt..you provide great, interesting, down to earth livin' content....and awesome creativity! Thanks Jacob and Alex; the Sawyers; for the 'gimme a minute and let me make a few calls...' Yep, true friend and blessing indeed.. Hey Jaylena! Glad to see you and 'Hammy' made it back to Oklahoma just fine, lol.....Blessings to Y'all!
Almost 100K!! Love the progress on the tiny house. Looks good, anxious to see how the walls turn out. Take care. Stay safe.
Wall is undescribable beautiful. Wow you are very talented
You could fill the gaps with river stones and small pebbles. Thanks Jason
Thick rope trim looks awesome too.
I love it! I was not sure how it would turn out. So, nice. The finish product will be simply amazing. Great job guys! 😷 🙋🏽 🌻
REALLY AWESOME VIDEO, great job Jason and Jaylena!! :)
God bless you........jaylena sneezed
Jason you are going to want to spray foam insulate the metal roof in that room because if you don’t the roof will sweat and drip from the temperature difference between outside and inside
For the future perhaps consider using the compound troweled on the wall first and then push the wood pieces into it like tile. The larger pieces could also be back buttered like tile. The pieces then could actually touch each other and probably no nails would be required either. The compound would just fill in the gaps between the wooden pieces. Also use larger wood pieces more abundantly to get more coverage.
That was cool to watch you and jaylena was working in high speed.
I love the wood on the wall. I think once you get it filled in, it will look amazing. It’s very rustic and that fits your whole theme!
Hey Jason buddy I have a good idea So you don't waist a bunch of nails You could always use some Liquid nails and glue the log rounds on the wall Maybe even hot glue!!!??? 😁👍👌
