I definitely agree that MegaBass skipped out on the hook harness in this one, but it now makes more sense to me how to properly fish it now.

  • Solid review man. Have you fished the hasu raver? I know it’s not a soft glide and probably more of a swimmer, but it looks like an ayu twitcher with an extra segment, so it might be capable of a similar swim on a twitch. Just curious on your thoughts on it.

    @nebassaddict@nebassaddict3 ай бұрын
    • The hasu raver is pretty legit actually. Designed to be a stop and go style bait. You can straight burn it, reel it at a medium retrieve and stop it and the bait will shoot out to the side. The hook slot is far better as well. Overall it’s a good bait, just wish it was bigger!

    @chadbowman2058@chadbowman20583 ай бұрын

  • Appreciate you talking about what Berkley did. The industry will keep doing it until someone creates a lure so different that they protect their design, and own exclusive rights to it.

    @FreedomFishing@FreedomFishing3 ай бұрын
    • Yeah, I feel like its hard to find a lure today that is not a copy of an older lure, or at least borrows most of its design from another, and lures from an engineering perspective, often do not have enough components to be able to successfully patent, it is considered nearly impossible and a waste of time to even try.

      @nathaniellippert9238@nathaniellippert92383 ай бұрын
    • @@nathaniellippert9238 oh I agree its super hard to not be like anyone else. And they have to very very unique in the design of the build, to get a provisional, utility, and/or a design patent. But that shouldn't stop anyone for trying for sure.

  • In regards to the Flag 170 - “This retails probably around the $20-23 price point.” Huh? It’s priced at $45.95 at The Hook Up Tackle and Tackle Warehouse and sold out at both as well.

    @ericglab1630@ericglab16303 ай бұрын
    • It's $45+ because of tariffs, it's 20ish bucks directly from Grow Design (before you pay import tax and shipping and all that fun stuff)

    • @@dustybacon91 Did I miss those important caveats in the video? Why not just quote the price that The Hook Up Tackle charges?

    • @@ericglab1630 that's totally fair, in one of The Hook Up Tackle podcasts they briefly mention that stuff when talking about JDM tackle and knock offs and such, but yea it'd have been nice to have both the "direct" pricing as well as how much it costs at TW/THUT

    • I literally added a text on screen that said they retail at $18 from Grow Designs website. I personally buy from grow designs directly when I want a bait.

  • I've fished the Nessie 5" model and honestly was not impressed that it now doesn't swim right after two fish, the joint is tearing on its own after only one. Even if it is dummy cheap, it's clear thats its designed to be bought over and over again. Another cash cow from the big brands

    @repairdrive@repairdrive3 ай бұрын
    • It's $18-20 directly from Grow Design's website, it's $46 from TW and THUT because of tariffs (and probably shipping the baits over too)

  • I gotta say with this bait stealing thing. I get it. I totally do. You make a cool bait or something and it works great obviously you want credit and money for it. But it sounds like the supply just isn’t matching demand on some of this stuff and competition steps in. Idk how to bride every gap properly but I do know if there’s a great bait no one company will or should provide 100% of the products. That’s called a monopoly
