Should You Buy The 2023 Lexus RX? Everything You Need To Know
A Mechanic Reviews the 2023 Lexus RX in an unconventional car review where we focus on the Technical Side of things in addition to exterior and interior.
So as we say good bye to the V6 Lexus RX we look into the new era of the Lexus RX. The Lexus RX is one of the original Lexus models and one that remains strong.
The 2023 Lexus RX drops the V6 in favor of a 4 cylinder turbo. In this video we'll do a deep dive into the new offering from Lexus.
We'll first take a look at the technical stuff, then we'll dive into the exterior, interior then we'll talk about somethings we like somethings we don't like.

You make other car journalist look like realtors. They just read off the brochure and drive it around a bit to give their "impressions". You are an absolute gem to the car community. Thank you for the video! Looking forward to the RX500h review! Can you also review the new Civic Type R and GR Corolla?
From a guy that services the brand daily he knows immensely more than any auto journalist.
Most of them are not journalists they are merely marketers. They have no qualifications and are bound by no code of conduct.
He’s also a mechanic and the other reviewers aren’t so thats a bad analogy.
He’s a former Toyota Master mechanic and recently left Toyota and opened up his own repair shop. This is the Bible of car mechanic channels
100% Great point! we certainly do need need residential realtors maybe for commercial properties. Great info as usual Car Care Nut
You will never go wrong if you spend just 2 hours watching his reviews before heading to dealership.❤
@@rosen9425they’re not obsolete because they can upsell the usual 95% of clueless buyers. But for us, we don’t need them, all I really need is an extended test drive of my shortlisted models back to back and some time to decide. From there it’s just price negotiations on the chosen car between various dealers of that brand.
The quality of filming and sound on these videos is first class. Full credit to the Director of Photography for doing a great job.
Everything about the CCN videos is improving by leaps and bounds.
I agree
These videos are better than the automotive shows I watched on tv growing up.
Best car review I have seen. Honest, to the point. Put all the other superficial reviews to shame. Thank!
You have to replace the word “interesting” with “kind of stupid” and you are set lol.
@@TacoMonster4eva thank God he didn't say stupid cuz there isn't anything really stupid about this car. It's solid. And the menu he talked about is simple. Like "kind of stupid simple" that even "kind of stupid" people can figure out. If you can deal with a smartphone you can easily deal with the wheel menu. It's way more simple than a smart phone. I like that he says "interesting" ......there is a slight shade in his delivery LOL. Love that guy!
100% agree with you. I love the smoothness of my 2013 RX350. And if I wanted an exciting and unreliable suv, I would have bought a BMW. If something happens to my Lexus, I will buy a used one.
My 2011 RX 350 ... I would not change it for anything.... smooth... reliable...easy maintenance... love my RX...🚐
I also agree with you. I have a 2013 RX350 and a 2021 Tesla model dual motor. I prefer the lexus. I will not touch a 2023 RX350. Rather have a 2022 or older for my next vehicle.
I got a 2012 with 177k drives amazing next one will be either 2013 or 2016 models
2010 rx350....nice:-)
I think the 3rd gen rx is one of the best cars ever made.Automotive perfection
I love how your vids are no bullshit and right to the point and you give a very detailed and informational analysis for me to enjoy. Thank you
Love your reviews. Sounds so much more practical, technically in-depth, and relevant for most people than other car reviewers. Your experience comes through.
Thank you AMD, I have been waiting for your review on the new RX for a long time! Your reviews offer unique and in-depth knowledge, more importantly, the things that actually matter when you are considering a new vehicle!
2 days ago, I was very fortunate enough to tour TMMTX. Toyota Manufacturing Texas. TMMTX is home of the Tundra and Sequoia. I am a Volvo guy at heart, my 2008 S80 saved my life in a rear-end collision. Although, we have owned 8 Toyota and Lexus models in our family, and almost all of them have always got us where we needed to go reliably. Everyone at the plant was happy, with a smile on their face and waving to the tourists. They all seemed like they liked their jobs. It was a treat. And I know have a heart for Toyota like never before. I highly, highly recommend touring a Toyota factory, if you are Toyota loyal. It is quite a treat, and amazing to see.❤
I might look into that in the UK. I've heard Volvo has a good tour in Sweden too
Thank you for the heads up! All mine were made at the KY plant. Would be fun to see them do their magic!
@@charliep5139 very cool. I was just chatting with a friend of mine, with all of hers made in KY. She toured it as well. I’m sure you’d love your experience. It is quite amazing to see the people and robots transporting car parts. They play a funny tune, kind of like a children’s song you will recognize. This is the “andon” a worker will pull, if their is a problem. Toyota is high quality, and among that, brings high standards in the production line. Every 2 weeks, the workers switch between to night shift and day shift. It is kind of a high-turnover. The tour guide said they are always looking work. I could speak for hours, I learned a lot, I really did…
Toyota/Lexus are simply great companies and people.
Volvo s80 very beautiful car.
I enjoy watching your videos because you take your time and you are very knowledgeable about the Toyota and Lexus brand. If I lived in Chicago you would be my mechanic. Keep your informative videos coming. Thank you!!!
Like always, great video, exactly what I want to hear during any car review: technical data along with professional mechanic's opinion about reliability.
That was such a good video and you have a very calming/nice voice. Thanks for the in depth analysis.
great video! we are very glad we picked up a 2022 RX 350 luxury edition we love the V6 and the old school interior-the last of the greats
Your very thorough thanks And keep up your great job that you do best and that’s Your Honesty my friend ❤
Great review! You always point out what no one else does. I really like the way you describe what you feel in plain English. Keep doing what you do. Thank you
Thank you so much, you’re so professional and honest. I’m really appreciating what you want to say from all Toyotas up to all Lexuses. We’re waiting more helpful videos from u. We’re expecting more and more from you. Well done
What a thorough, enlightening review. Lexus made a smart move getting this car to you for review. I hope they send you more new products for the same attention.
Your final verdict is spot on.....we love our older RX but will not be replacing it with this one as it stands....
This is hands down the best review of a vehicle that I've seen. Knowledgeable, video quality and very detail and easy to understand, regardless if you do or do not know much about vehicles.
Love the honest review!!! We think the same with regard to reliability and what is best for the consumer. Car Care Nut, the hero we need!!!
AMD this is a great video. I watch every release of yours from start to finish. I own a 4Runner and recently came across some videos/articles on the stock Panasonic batteries that come from the factory. Sounds like they are extremely high quality. Many people reporting long life from them. The part I found interesting was that some are saying to monitor the fluid level in the battery with a flashlight. Fill each cell with distilled water if below the bottom line. A video on battery quality and best practice for battery care would be well watched IMO. I could be wrong though. Happy New Year!
Appreciate your honest and thoughtful review of the 2023 RX. Thank you CCN!
Keep up the good work. Excellent technical reviews :)
Just bought a 2023 RX500h. I have zero concerns about long term reliability. It’s fast and smooth.
Excellent job. We are looking forward for your detailed review on 2023 RX 350h. We always wanted to get a Lexus RX, but 2023 has been disappointing. Waiting till Summer to find some real world reviews of 350 hybrid
love the long videos! great explanation great quality too!
This is the most comprehensive mechanics review I have ever seen of a new car this is exactly what I needed to help make my decision
Excellent review AMD! You really have a gift for explaining all the complex info simply & thoroughly so that we understand and it all makes perfect sense. Glad I didn't wait for the 2023. In July I bought a '22 RX 450h luxury and it's everything I hoped for. Your review of the '22 called it a really "nice place to spend some time". And you were right! I LOVE it so much, it's my dream car. It's so comfortable and smooth and the Mark Lev stereo is amazing. I find excuses just to go take a ride in it, and I plan to keep it as long as I can. Thanks again AMD!
I completely agree with your comments about the 2022 RX450H. I absolutely LOVE mine! I traded back my 2022 NX450H+ for a fully loaded gorgeous 2022 RX450H F Sport. I lost a ton of $$$$, but have no regrets. I felt lucky to have found one of the last 6 cylinder RX models. I hated the screaming of the 4 cylinder engine on the NX as I climbed the mountain pass freeway which I drive frequently. Poor engine sounded like it was straining it's heart out going up that grade. I agree with AMD. That little 4 cylinder engine doesn't belong in the RX. Period. Considering it was too small for the NX450H+, it certainly is not suited for the RX which is bigger and heavier than the NX.
I enjoy your honest reviews.
Just sat in one in my dealership. I agree with this review completely. Thank you for your expertise!
You hit the nail with the engine comments and the Heads up display. thanks
Thanks for your astute analysis of this vehicle. I am in the market for a new vehicle and had this vehicle as a possible contender until I saw your review. I was skeptical of the 4-cycle engine change, but the lack of a functional rear-bumper is a deal breaker for me after having recently being rear-ended in my Toyota Avalon that was totaled in that accident. Please keep informing us of the features that are not so obvious to us as car purchasers and owners.
My wife is on her 4th RX and it is a 2016 model and all have been wonderful cars. thanks for your review it has been very helpful. I am on my second Lexus it is a GX460 and i may never replace it. I may drive it for the rest of my life.
Great job! I was going to skip you talking about engines but glad I watched it all.
Really enjoy a review where I actually learn the mechanical aspects of a car rather than just specs that I can read up myself. Amazing job sir!
What a beautiful car.. Thanks for your reviews. They’re the best in KZhead! 👍🏻
Yes, He is.
People, don’t buy 4 cylinders engines and you’ll see how fast the put that V6 back. The RX is very heavy vehicle for a 4 cylinder motor and that engine will be over working which it might deteriorate prematurely.
This is lovely..i so much love your videos pls keep up the good work.
Excellent channel and content. Reasons why you dislike things about this RX are spot on. Keep the great content!
I picked-up my fifth 2023 RX 350 two weeks ago. I left BMW and Mercedes back in 2010. Obviously, I'm very loyal to the Lexus brand and RX 350. You are spot on in your review. Much thanks. Some of my issues for those considering- I turned off the HUD because I found it a distraction. The steering wheel has no labels other then dots to scroll though the menus. UGH! I loved the Adaptive Cruise control on the older models with the controls on a stem. That's gone. I'm still learning how to use it on the 2023. Yes, the car beeps too much. Not such a big deal - except for the face recognition which is to sensitive. I don't like the Auto Shut off at stop lights, and you cannot permanently turn it off, you must turn it off manually shut it off. (Audi, BMW, MB has the same setup with Auto engine off). I miss the RX 350 six cylinder and found it quieter compared to the Turbo Four. Also, now you must fuel with premium gas. I do like the torque in the four turbo on the 2023. In the older RX 350, I usually switched to Sport mode when entering highways and passing. That was a dial on the console. That dial is gone in the 2023. The 2023 defaults to ECO mode and makes you have to scroll through the LED to switch to Sport. UGH! You admitted in previous videos that Lexus tech is usually behind the German's (MB, BMW, Audi). Those cars have just as much and more annoying tech, safety features, but I know with the Lexus the probability of breaking down is much less compared to the German cars. Yes, it lacks the thrill of driving the German cars, but as a old dude I content with boring and reliable. Again, thank-you for the excellent reviews. Bottom line, a big learning curve for the new RX 350. Nevertheless, I still would recommend the car for the price range if value, quiet, safety, and reliability are your priorities. One last word- your review of the EZ Lexus 350 (EV) should be a must watch for anyone considering it.
You haven't seen boring until you step into a 1981 vw rabbit diesel. It takes boring to a whole new level! And at 53hp, I can tell when I have a tail wind! Thanks for your input, my wife and I will be buying an RX350 tomorrow if all goes well
I bought the RX500h, its pretty quick, and the 350 was very underpowered and after trading in a 2021 Mercedes E53 amg wagon... The RX is an entirely different car, and I love it.. The buttons I got used to.. have had it 2 months now, the beeping etc I have shut off a lot of it. I had most of that stuff on my E class as well but again shut off a lot of it.
@@twfinc6855 We shut off the beeping stuff with regards to the device that is watching to see if your eyes are on the road.
@@twfinc6855 how are you liking the rx500h thus far? I test drove all trims and were very unimpressed with the 350 and 350h but enjoyed the 500h. I also didn't care for all the electronics in the car as I would disable it anyways
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the steering wheel menu. It takes two seconds. Put your finger on it, it shows the menu on the HUD (now sure how distracting the HUD is when it is below your line of sight but enough so you can see the road). The adaptive cruise control....what is there to learn? It's one button and it's labeled, as well as lane assist. Then you press the up button to resume or take the new speed you're going at. It tells you on the HUD when you put your finger on the button. And what do you mean scroll to sport? You press one icon in the 14 inch display and the first two icons on the left are Sport and eco. It's on Normal mode for me when I turn on my car. Are you sure you have this car? I mean this with respect. Press the adaptive/cruise control to the right of your steering wheel. Put your finger (don't press) on the circle pad on the right of the steering wheel and it will show plus for speeding up, down for slowing down, left for how far the car will be from the car in front of it during adaptive driving, and I forgot what right was. Press the labelled rectangle icon below the circle pad and it will be your HUD height and info you want to see on your HUD. You don't need to even use that menu but it's there at the press of a button. On the circle pad to your left is music, phone, forward and backwards on music you are playing. So....there isn't anything complicated about it. Up down, left right. That's it.
I went from a 2021 350 to a 2023 500h and while this reviewer makes some valid points I must say I absolutely love my Rx500h !
Your videos are outstanding in all respect including the videography. Thank you.
Great video Alex! Keep them coming!!!
I completely agree with your 4 cylinder engine noise commentary. My wife and I have driven several 2022 small and mid-size SUVs with 4-cylinder powertrains. We just can't stand them. We are stuck with spending much more for larger models with v6 engines or looking for 2021 v6 models with low mileage. The shrinking powertrains are not driven by customer demands. It is begin driven by government regulations. That is the sad truth.
Great video AMD! Just a comment about the e-latch system though; I felt the same way myself when it debuted on the 2022 NX. However, having lived with it for 7 months in my 2022 NX, it really isn't nearly as bad as you think it is. The learning curve is very gentle and now, it's just easy and intuitive. I've also lived through this in a few cold freezes in the great white north and it's not frozen on me at all. It's been great all the time. Give it time and you'd come around.
lucky you.. my nx door handles froze constanly when the temperature drops below 0. took it to the dealer, the advisor said he knew it was gonna happen, and there were many open case about this issue, Lexus is working on it for a soultion
It still doesn't add anything to the vehicle, and is just one more piece of complexity that can malfunction.
How is your NX in the winter? I’m looking at one but am concerned about how it is during or after an Alberta snow storm 🥶
@@Adarn_Schefter My NX has been fine. I do have a dedicated winter tire set which definitely does it good. Also the AWD system handles snow very well. Not once have I gotten stuck in any snowstorms or bad weather. Just waiting for the temperatures to drop some more before I throw the winter set on again.
Appreciate your video. Thanks for a ton of useful information. Keep up the wonderful work. I'm a fan now.
Thanks for a very thorough, thoughtful and interesting review. You do it better than all of them. I so agree with your thoughts and reflections, and now am all the more thankful for and appreciative of my 2022 Lexus Rx 450 hl. As you mentioned, the engine is extremely smooth and quiet, with enough power to comfortably move the car as needed. I always appreciate more updated technology, but, from what you describe, there is a point where it can be technology overload. Great job and I will keep watching as I have for a long time and am one of your many happy subscribers. And I love that you are doing full reviews of new cars. Having a review by someone who works on cars as a living makes all the difference.
Another excellent comprehensive review of a new model. Thanks!
Agree
Like your conclusions, I agree with you 4 cylinders turbo doesn’t fits in this car. My sister bought an Acura MDX over the RX.
As a Lexus Tech Specialist, I agree with most everything you said, cant find anything to disagree about. Found it funny because its true. Another great video!
Extremely knowledgeable and well done. Thank you.
I don't watch other car KZheadr's because they talk up every single car, even the "bad" ones but this guy will address everything which is want you want as a consumer.
This seems like a high tech powerful 4 banger. Maybe I'm old school but this vehicle deserves a less strained and more refined/quieter naturally aspirated traditional V6. I realize turbo 4's are the new norm and have come a long way but mainly as a cost cutting measure.
how is it a cost cutting measure? the new 2023 model requires premium gas now. You end up paying more. Oh, I see your point now, it is cost cutting for Lexus.
@@galaxywalker2976 It's all about trying to satisfy the federal government's CAFE requirements. Like many government over reach regulations it doesn't work very well in the real world.
The right move here is to get the 500H, the 2 electric motors really take the load off that 2.4T and make it super smooth to drive.
Moving to a 4 cylinder for 1 mpg and adding a turbo is nonsense. I’ve owned RXs since 2009. What a mistake.
@@jamesvirga9496 100% agree. I would walk into a Lexus dealer today and get a 2024 RX if there was a 6-cylinder option. I like the design of the post-2023 front a bit better than the 2022 and earlier versions. Who knows, I might go get a 2022 with some mileage just to save some $ and get the 6-cylinder.
Superb review. Would love to hear your thoughts on the 350H. 450H+. and 500H as well!
I am totally agree with your view. Keep the good work great video.
Great review!! The most useful I've ever seen. Thanks.
For everyone saying that they will not buy the 4cylinder RX. I can speak up for the rx500h version. I had a 2017 rx350 f sport and I was upset that Lexus eliminated the v6 on the new model rx. I went in and test drove the 2024 rx500h and it sold me right away. You will never know it has a 4 cylinder. The turbo and the electric motors produces more than enough power for me and is very smooth. Go to a dealer and test drive to experience it yourself. I traded in my 2017 for the new rx500h with no regrets. Going on 2 weeks with the car and absolutely love it!
i agree but I was buying one for the gas economy with some luxury....so the rx500h was never going to fly. The Rx450h plug in maybe but I sometimes have supe long commutes. I love the Rx 350h. It's not the RX of old....but I wouldn't have bought it if it was of the old....fuel economy is the point of this car. A V6 isn't going to do that.
I have the first generation RX300 1999 currently with 309,000 miles...I have never had a problem except regular oil changes. My new RX350 has been at the local port for a month. Patiently waiting. Yes...I plan to keep my #1 SUV!
you are a godsend for the car community, hands down the best review of this model i've seen and i've seen a lot. i'm heading to the dealership to decide on this or the NX and your video is really helpful. thank you.
Another outstanding presentation. I never miss one. Best source of information on KZhead. Please keep up the exceptional work.
🎯 Your absolutely correct. We hate the auto engine stop / start and the multiple needless built in monitoring distractions with the beeps and 🛎 bells. I worked for nearly 3 decades in a auto assembly plant in Ohio. The issue is engineering. They are always " justifying their jobs" by needlessly overdesigning and redesigning using cheap short cuts like with software. If they leave it the same then obviously they are not needed.
I believe you are underestimating the influence of the federal government on the auto industry. That includes all the nanny devices, the rush to EV technology which still isn't ready for prime time and lots of other things like the minimum height of your toilet seat.
I don't know about whether the 2023 RX has a button to disable the auto engine stop feature, but my 2022 RX450H does. Just push the button and the auto stop feature is disabled.
Great review AMD...sad to see no V6...👍
Very good review. I really appreciated "Things I Don't Like About It". I think points are right on.
Man, I really like your reviews! Especially the engines and powertrains. I like the raw facts
The 2022 Lexus RX 350 V6 looks a lot better now. 😁
Dropping the V6 was a huge mistake in my honest opinion, very short sighted of Lexus. That engine (as you correctly say) is more in tune with the character of the vehicle. There's almost no point now getting an RX over an NX, as the same engines perform better in that lighter vehicle. They should've stayed with the V6 and come up with more ways to get more fuel economy out of it and improve the hybridization of it. Great review though, keep it up the great work!
I really think they’re going to feel that hit! I know I have zero intentions of getting rid of my 2020 now..
Excellent review. As a former electrical engineer I appreciate the technical insights that no other car reviewer provides. Start/Stop & steering wheel camera & ebrake would be deal breakers for us. 2018 Camry LE is our last new ICE car.
Thank you for this video! You give a Honest and completely transparent review! I appreciate your honesty!! 🏆🥇👍
I also bought the 2022 V6 RX last April, I will be keeping it for a while
I love this version of the spindle grill
Very nice to see the under side of the car. It gives me some perspective the mechanics. Great review👍🏻
Great review happy for you and family. I just got the Lexus ES 350 2018 with 34K miles and I Love it!!!
Glad, I got the 22 model with the V6. Hate the monitoring system. They lost me on it. Sure glad that you can count on someone giving you an Honest Review and call them the way he sees them. Thanks AMD for being so damn honest and knowledge about what you are reviewing. Keep up the good work. Question, is the cooking channel still in the works?
I did the same, 2022 V6. I'm not convinced a 4 banger with turbo will last as long as the V6. Stop-Start is not for me. Every time your restart, wear on the engine.
I am thankful I got the 2022! They messed up on this one!
2022 rx is thousand times better with 3.5v6, bulletproof, compared to this over complicated powertrain
Same here. I got the 22 black F sport. Just a few weeks after the 23 specs announcement I stormed to the dealership 🤣
Just awful, Luxury and 4 bangers is best left to BMW... They shake and are loud, clunky and the opposite of smooth, they get louder with age. Stop start wears out everything that keeps it still, why Toyota?
I love my 2010 RX 350. No infotainment option, all buttons. I love the simplicity
Blessings u Glad u are driving a nice reliable Lexus and not those garbage Bmw and Mercedes.
Very informative video and I am really appreciate!
You are totally amazing, your knowledge is refreshing and your honesty very needed. I totally enjoy your reviews and watch often. Thank you for the real goods!
I agree a big + on the spare tire and big - on the added complexity and unnecessarily complicating things with the electronic gizmos. Will miss the v6 too.
Reson why I'm getting a 2018 Cayenne V6 base model petrol 😄 Though this RX looks outstanding ..
Hands down the best RX review ever ❤️. As the owner of a 2020 Luxury RX350, I’ll keep my V-6 with the hunting automatic transmission and no issues with the trac pad 🤷♂️. My only complaints with mine from day #1 is the transmission tuning and the lack of heated and cooled rear seats. I give mine an A- overall 👍👍. Keep up the great work and congrats on your new Lexus purchase for your wife. Loved that video also.
Yep, 2020 MY is now reasonably priced and gets the last significant upgrades!
take his review with a grain of salt.. like any car you get used to the beeps and buttons etc - he goes on about this stuff far too much... How does he know what Lexus buyers want? he doesnt obviously........ I shut off what I didnt need and you get used to the steering buttons.. Sure at first you dont like it because you are not used to it, but its easy now after having my RX500h for 2 months... i wouldnt go back to my 2012 RX after having this car.. its very quiet and much more refined.
@@twfinc6855@twfinc6855 Good points, but the thing that raised my eyebrows the most is the conversion to the 4-cylinder, which then needs a turbo, which then adds all the stuff he discusses. I would do anything for a 2024 RX that has a 6-cylinder. I would get an Acura MDX because it has the 6-cylinder but I do not find their new "sport style" seats (2022 and beyond) comfortable at all compared to the 2020 MDX seats and earlier. The Lexus RX defines comfort IMO. So am I stuck with a 2022 RX or earlier?
Great review man. Like your thorough approach and unique style, a lot. Glad to see you appreciate the presence of a true spar tire like I do. Can't wait for your review of that 500h and the upcoming plug-in hybrid model.
This was a GREAT review. I learned so much. Thank you!
I agree with your excellent review. I bought an older Lexus RX 350 here in England a few years ago for all the Lexus qualities but as importantly that silky V6 engine. Even though petrol is expensive here that engine sound is music to my ears. Whilst my knowledge is lacking on all American vehicles, here in England there are vitually no new cars with anything you could describe as a bumper front or rear as well.
You should have gotten the Rx450h, no issue with fuel consumption and drives smoother too.
In NL we only have the V6 hybrid option. smooth and better in fuel economy.
Great review. 100% agree on the dislikes. I currently have a ‘19 NX and got to spend a day with a 2023 NX service loaner. Same complaints with the new systems. The digital latch is annoying and unnecessary. Two steps to open or close. The shifter is unintuitive. Push forward to go in reverse. Push backward to go forward. I always had to look down to make sure I was in the correct gear. Why Lexus? Ok, so no more track pad. I sit way back and it was a constant shoulder pain to keep reaching for the touch screen. The start stop system is another annoyance. I found that if you gently press the brake pedal when stopped, the engine doesn’t shut down. Have to remember that when making a left turn, and I forgot to turn the system off. The safety systems kept beeping, but you never know for what as all the beeps sound the same. Lastly agree on the engine. This one requires premium fuel, the previous V6 took regular. So, even though the 4 cylinder is slightly more fuel efficient, it will cost more to run. Great video. Great channel. I’m glad that you can point out the negatives as opposed to other reviewers who just love everything.
Thanks for the thorough review. Much appreciated.
Point to Point review. Well done and good job. Do more car review especially NX & ES as well. Pointed out things that I didn't realise, that's why now considering.
Really wanted a RX350 but being 70 years old and a nonturbo man had to go with the Cadillac XT5 just for the V6.
Amen! Bought my 2022 Rx350L for that very reason. No hybrids, no turbos!
My dream car the rx350 L
Thinking about buying this car and love the content and community comments...thank you!
Always enjoy and trust your great, in depth and knowledgeable reviews.
I think Beluga Whale when I look at the grill. If I was in the market, I'd look for the last of the 22's. Let's hope Lexus listens to their customer base and makes changes in the years to come. Even though my 14 RX is incredibly boring to drive in a good way the solid reliability makes it a joy to own. It's literally the best car I've ever owned in my 45 years of driving. Amd's review was the best of any Tuber vid. so far!
Beluga whale, thats my exact first thought and it would be enough for me not to buy this car unless they change the front
AMD, Thanks for the thoughtful and heartfelt analysis of the new RX. 👏👏You are not the first one to raise concerns about the finicky controls and excess technology. The issues arising from the rough turbo engine may be alleviated by the smoother 350h which is just as quick, far more economical and smoother when the RX is driven in the traditional manner. On the question of safety, you are probably correct to say careful drivers don't need as much safety tech but what do WE do with the aggressive, distracted, impaired and downright dangerous drivers out there? Surely the rest of us deserve to be protected from them by every means possible and that is where technology will come in to play.
Now this is the type of review I like! I have an automotive repair channel here on YTube and the technical aspect in this video was much appreciated! My wife test drove the RX350 yesterday and I told her the 4 banger was buzzy with too much vibration. She smiled, I think she likes that about the car. haha Thanks and take care. -Glen
This is the best RX review I've been, by far. Very much appreciated, thank you so much for this.......
A very well done presentation. There is a point where technology becomes gimmickry, like the door handle issue you described. I suspect much of that is driven by demographics in an attempt to capture younger buyers and/or provide separation from competing brands. I purchased a 2020 RX new and was floored at the collection of manuals provided to 'operate' the technology. Once we read enough to drive to the market and back, the manuals got shelved for the duration of the vehicle. As for the 2023, I can think of nothing more frustrating or dangerous than trying to 'drill down' on a touch screen display to find a needed function while on the road. Once again, an excellent review. Thank you.
The infotainment system has NEVER been one of Toyota/Lexus strong points. In fact they always seem to be behind, but what they do have tends to be very reliable. I also have no explanation why they continue to uglify their vehicles. It defies all reason. They could make stunningly beautiful products if they wanted to. The stunning LC is a perfect example of what is possible.
I can’t say enough good things about this review, thank you! Be blessed! 42:09
Thanks for the informative review. As a 450L owner, I couldn’t agree more with the interior nice people comments. You provided a lot of important information and I hope the market feedback resonates with the designers for the 2024 model year. I’ll hang on to my ride for now, even though I really like the “Prius shifter”! All the best!
Excellent thorough review. Thanks.
AMD is a legend!! Thanks for the awesome videos 😎
Honesty is always the best medicine. Thank you Very much for it!

I'm so glad for my rx2022. Nothing beats 2GR-FKS
