    • @ComaBerenices it's Mary from Ballet Beautiful, she has a business and teach classes with the exercises Natalie did Victoria secrets models are some of the students, and some has dancers bodies Natalie did a lot for her, she always mentions the coach work

      @sahtification@sahtification4 жыл бұрын
    • @@sahtification I would agree that Natalie mentioned and credited Mary Helen Bowers (founder of Ballet Beautiful), who coached her and helped her develop a ballerina looking physique. . but Natalie (and the production) did not mention or credit her dance double in the film, Sarah Lane- (who like Isabella Boylston, is a principal dancer with ABT). A big part of Natalie's academy award "for your consideration" campaign had to do with promoting the idea that Natalie did all her own dancing and went from being a non dancer to being en pointe dancing in this film, a feat worthy of actings highest honors. But Sarah Lane did all the dancing in the film and Natalie's face was superimposed on, she was not allowed to talk about her involvement, something that she did not know would be required when she signed on. The Ballet world (especially in 2009) was very insular, and felt this was a betrayal of professional dancers's skills and life's work. This was such a moment in pop culture-so seldom that dance movies come out- that obviously, ten years on-people are still commenting about Black Swan in random youtube ballet videos. For a comparison, Red Sparrow, (2018) acknowledged that Isabella Boylston was Jennifer Lawrence's dance double, including her in special features, articles, publicity footage, etc. That was a better way to handle the situation.

  • Merci beaucoup! This is a lovely and uncomplicated workout. As an adult dancer who hasn't danced in a year (due to being swamped with exams for my PhD program), this is a wonderful at home workout for me during the pandemic. Bonne journée...

  • Thank you for this! especially the bridge exercises. What a treat to get tips from a Principal Ballerina.I am 65 and have taken classes since my 50s . I love the progressive footwork of the bar. Your video leaves out important sequences that lead up to things like jumps and adagio. Plus, point shoes require years of training to use! At first I thought that this was just for professionals, but then you explained things in a very basic way. A bit confusing .I stopped the video and filled in with tendus and degage. That being said ,I found it refreshing and am a new subscriber. I usually never comment at all, but I wanted to offer my opinion.

    • @@magicsweets-princessofevil6014 ummm im sorry what? I am a student ballerina myself, but that doesn't mean that all girls need to be "beautiful, gentle, and feminine". Can't you just let people be what they want?

  • Hello. It’s amazing how creative persons have been during this cruel and relentless pandemic. As I watch you, I’ve been thinking of how many little girls would LOVE to learn from you, especially those whom could never afford to have ballet lessons. It would be nice if you’d consider offering classes through this medium, especially geared toward little girls whose parents can’t give them ballet lessons. I think that would be very cool. You’re extremely talented and blessed. Take care of yourself and may God be with you💕. Kathryn
