The Verb WERDEN in Detail & its Meanings | Vollverb, Hilfsverb, Passiv, Futur & Konjunktiv
The German verb "werden" is one of the most important and at the same time one of the most confusing German verbs. There is: werden, würden, wurden, worden or geworden. Just to name a few. But there is also a reason why this verb seems so confusing. "Werden" can be a "Vollverb", meaning a verb which can be on its own and also a "Hilfsverb" meaning a helping verb. The meaning of "werden" and when and in which situations its used will be explained in this video.

Oh, that's why I am hearing "werden" everywhere in Germany but I never understood specifically the meaning. It was so confusing. In all the courses I did, no teacher explained it as clearly as you. Thank you! 😃

It is interesting that both English and German doesn't have direct future tenses. "Will" comes from willing, wanting. But in Turkish, Future has its own tense just like past and present.

Same in Italian
Arabic likewise doesn't have a future per se; the future is created from the particle "sa" or the helper "sauf" plus the present. I suspect that quite a few languages have only a perfect and a "non-perfect" which is manipulated into the future tenses by auxiliaries.
Just a quick question, at 13:45 in case I want to avoid using the word worden, can I just write- "Gestern hatte er seine Operation."?
