    • The UFC and ONE championship came to a deal a couple years ago that was the first ever trade in MMA. UFC traded the contract of DJ to ONE in exchange for the contract of Ben Askren.

    • It was actually the best move for UFC. The flyweight division is interesting now ONLY because of DJ's departure. Had he stayed, no one would be interested as he would've dominated everyone. Problem with having such a dominant champion

  • Good show D J, I don’t think you lost your last fight in UFC. To beat the champ, an obvious display of dominance must be there. It was a complete disrespectful shun to bypass the rematch. But look at him now, and you are on top again!

    • @PJ Rivera That was in a different weight class and that wasn’t a tough fight. Cruz didn’t hurt him like Dodson did. Even though he won, he was in real danger in the Dodson fight. Against Cruz he was just undersized. He wasn’t getting beat up.

    @CarlosGarcia-nt4wf@CarlosGarcia-nt4wf3 жыл бұрын
    • would have been great to see him against the current champ Figueiredo.. unfortunately DJ did not have great competition in the UFC, there simply aren't enough skilled small dudes.. things seem more competitive in ONE FC, possibly because he's fighting slightly bigger guys now (or at least that's what I see).

      @takisk.7698@takisk.76983 жыл бұрын
    • I think for some it looks more competive at ONE for DJ because they expected him to smoke them. But ONE does have very good guys in their lighter divisions (the top guys are...but there still is a good gap between the upper top guys and the mid-tier guys). Since he wasnt really a weight cutter, even at 125, the new weight limit at 135 sure does take in another factor of him not looking as dominat as he used to be...he even didnt look big at 125 vs the other 125ers in the UFC...and now the guys wont get smaller at all...

    • It’s the competition. UFC is more well rounded. I find one more exciting though

      @grosebud4554@grosebud45543 жыл бұрын
    • It's simple, he's facing better fighters. As hard as that may be for UFC fans to accept. The whole different weight class thing is a misunderstanding. UFC Flyweights weigh in at 125lbs but in the Octagon their average weight is 135. The only difference with one is they skip the cut, so they weigh the same as the UFC flyweights but never had to starve themselves, making their movements more fluid.
