  • Fun fact: In August 30th 2015, Sega partnered up with Rovio Entertainment to make an event on each game featuring a crossover between Sonic and the Angry Birds franchise. Sonic can be playable in Angry Birds Epic, while The three main birds Red, Chuck and Bomb are playable characters in Sonic Dash. Unfortunately, it was for a limited time.

  • Fun Fact: in February 21st and March 26th of 2013, the Wii U version of Sonic Lost World got Zelda and Yoshi themed zones as DLC. The Zelda one was titled: The Legend of Zelda Zone, and the Yoshi one was titled: Yoshi’s Island Zone.

  • You didn't mention that choosing Classic or Modern Sonic completely changes the gameplay between 2D side-scrolling and 2D/3D hybrid. For example, that means you can play Green Hill as a modern stage or City Escape as a classic stage. It's wild.

  • I’ve always assumed Sonic 4 Episode 3 fizzled out as things evolved with SOA, Sega Networks & F2P etc. I guess it’s been long enough that it’s not relevant any more, but I was briefly asked if I would be interested in collaborating with Sega Studios Australia (Who did the Castle of Illusion remake) as a potential dev team to work on the third one. Sadly though, SSA were shut down, and Stealth and I worked on the Sonic 1 & 2 remasters in late 2012-2013. Of course, you never know, Sonic Team could one day decide Ep3 should happen, but Ken pretty much confirms my personal thoughts.

  • Fun Fact: Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric was originally gonna be on the PlayStation 3 & Xbox 360 until Nintendo signed an exclusivity deal with Sega to have 3 of their Sonic games to be developed only on Nintendo Platforms on May 17th, 2013

  • Thanks for the video! Was waiting for this part to come out. Unpopular fact from me: Despite Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric being considered one of the worst games in the franchise, it was the game that introduced me to the Sonic franchise. From that point on, I instantly got hooked onto Sonic the Hedgehog. Think that was weird? The Boom designs for the characters look cool. (IMO, VERY UNPOPULAR OPINION)

  • here is a fact about the sonic 4 series. sonic 4 episode 3 was actually planned to be made which took place after the events of the 2nd game. however, the game was scrapped due to low ratings of the previous games.

  • The Mediocre Era of Sonic games after Sonic Generations were the good times and bad times for Sonic games. Hope pt.8 of Sonic the hedgehog talks more about the Post-Modern Sonic Era. Keep up the good work, Flatlife.

  • 8:34 this is still a huge problem because few people who played it. Made mods of this on every moddable games. The modder of Friday Night Funkin' made one in that game and most people who made other mods are getting ignored by that and they were pretty upset because most of the good mods of FNF were underrated because of the Sonic.exe mod. 15:56 that gameplay in the background. There were a cancelled Sonic game that planned to used back in the 90's that was called Sonic X-Treme for Sega Saturn. It was cancelled due to Framerate issues, a lot of lack of delays, and 2 developers were having a fatal ill which they ended up leaving the studio. The game was planned to be released before Christmas but then got replaced by Sonic 3D Blast that was in development for the Genesis/MegaDrive that time

  • 16:29 Sonic runners. One of the games that had the potential to be great. And frankly Gamesoft's version doesn't look good. I don't care what anyone else says, but the visuals are just awful. If I compared them, it's like looking at a cheap knock-off. Perhaps even the fan game Sonic Runners Reloaded looks better than this. Plus it's not an endless runner anymore. Why download this when the fans of the original game dusted it off and released it as Sonic Runners Revival.

    • Yeah in case you don't know many ppl actually see sonic 4 episode 1 in a good reception but that nostly for being "a revival of the genesis platformers" gaming histotiri talked about the game in a postive note in the last sonic history vid he did no joking

  • Sonic lost world got a bad wrap. The story isn't good but sonic isn't know for its incredible storytelling. The gameplay is what matters and its super fun and engaging. I made sure to download the DLC on my wiiu before the eshop closes and even the dlc is super fun.

  • fun fact: in my home country i know an arcade place which has a...mario and sonic london olympic games arcade cabinete and an arcade port of sonic dash which uses a huge d-pad to move and jump! sadly...the d-pad was unresponcive....and i wasted my money! gReaT!

  • I feel like people dunk on Rise of Lyric a bit too much. Sure the game isnt great, but i think there are a handfull of games that I belive are worse. (Looking at you 3D Blast) 06, Unleashed, Rise of Lyric, Lost World and Forces are very underrated. Who's with me?
