I don't think he threw the gameplan out the window by choice, he was just up against the far better more technical and advanced striker. Izzy controlled the range and timed Costa everytime he threw, so he got hesitant to throw shots and ultimately got picked apart.

@Groftick Brand good point but izzys gas tank is on another level! He’ll tag you in the way in so if you do that he’ll probably win on points. Not only that but izzys distance controls, circling and ring IQ is also very good so it will be hard to pin him down so this technique to beat him is very risky and can very rally lead to a loss. The main thing I love about Izzy is he’s constantly learning added you his tool kit so his opponents will never know what he comes with- Izzy vs till would be an amazing match

Adesanya’s come up was way more impressive than Costa’s. Adesanya beat the likes of Brad Tavares, Derek Brunson, KG, Anderson silva, then he absolutely dominated Robert Whittaker. Costa beat a washed up Johnny Hendricks, Uriah hall who dropped Costa, and barely beat Romero which could’ve gone to Romero. Yeah, Izzy didn’t have the best fight against Romero, but he has a way better resume than Costa. And we saw the skill level difference in the fight. I think Costa can beat a lot of MW, but I never see him beating Izzy.

I was heated when Paulo lost this one I won't even lie. I wouldn't have minded if it was the 5 round war that many were expecting considering that Kelvin Gastelum gave him a tough time, but I was annoyed I even stayed up late to watch this shit🤣🤣 doubt we'll ever see a rematch (likely down the road at LHW) but if we do I can only hope it's the brawl that the fans deserve

Khabib shutdown Gaethje in round 2 just like how Adesanya shutdown Paulo Costa in round 2. Their ability to feint is what shutdown their opponent. Yoel Romero is quite immune to feints. If Adesanya's ground skill is as good as Khabib, he would have defeated Yoel Romero in 4 rounds.

I don't think he threw the gameplan out the window by choice, he was just up against the far better more technical and advanced striker. Izzy controlled the range and timed Costa everytime he threw, so he got hesitant to throw shots and ultimately got picked apart.

Not only that but izzys distance controls, circling and ring IQ is also very good so it will be hard to pin him down so this technique to beat him is very risky and can very rally lead to a loss. The main thing I love about Izzy is he’s constantly learning added you his tool kit so his opponents will never know what he comes with- Izzy vs till would be an amazing match

Adesanya’s come up was way more impressive than Costa’s. Adesanya beat the likes of Brad Tavares, Derek Brunson, KG, Anderson silva, then he absolutely dominated Robert Whittaker. Costa beat a washed up Johnny Hendricks, Uriah hall who dropped Costa, and barely beat Romero which could’ve gone to Romero. Yeah, Izzy didn’t have the best fight against Romero, but he has a way better resume than Costa. And we saw the skill level difference in the fight. I think Costa can beat a lot of MW, but I never see him beating Izzy.
