Can You Do A Rusty Pickaxe Restoration
Yea
YESSSSSSSSSS that would be awesome! Love your work !
Very good restoration I like the handle and how you darken the blade you will get allot of use chopping up meat, vegies, and fruit......
LOVE your knife restorations!! I like your knife restorations even more than your sword restorations-it’s so nice to see something old and rusty be turned into something fresh and useful. Whenever I have trouble sleeping I put on one of your videos and I’m instantly relaxed. Thank you for your amazing work!
Awsm job man.. Some texture on the aluminium part of handle would have eleviated the looks and grip.!! Best one.
Thoroughly amazing. As someone who couldn't cut a straight line to save his life I watch this in awe
Haha

Absolutely beautiful! Always amazing projects
All that and we didn't even get to see him cut a tomato real thin. There are rules to these things lol
it's probably because an ANGLEGRINDER won't give you a solid edge
@@ElseeKay oh it can, you just have to not suck
thats a cleaver probably doesnt have a thin enough angle for precise thin cuts but more of an obtuse one for cracking bones and edge retention.
He puts more effort to a rusted tool than my father to my family
cheesecake dude damn..
Don't say that man after all he's your father he knows what's best for you and your family
UH OH...Daddy issues!
ROB-IN-PHILLY is it funny tho?
@@lordfencepanel8666 Isn't everything?
Awesome work and I like the fact that you used a different metal from brass which seems to be your favorite. Don't get me wrong, brass looks great too. I enjoyed your video, thank you.
I love it. These videos it's enough for relax for afternoon... And when you want 😍😘
Honestly, I kinda find the Japanese restoration videos a bit more interesting since they don't use too many machines in the restoration process. But hey, this is pretty cool too.
I know what you mean. It's interesting to see the different methods used. I've been watching a bunch of the Japanese ones, and this started the same until there was suddenly an angle grinder.
This is more satisfying to watch
@@lenkaido1357 Okay, your opinion...I respect it.
Could you please refer me to some of those channel so I could check it out? I've only found documentaries of Japanese swordsmiths doing their craft, but I was wondering if there were any blacksmiths with a KZhead channel like this one.
@@rafaelfranceschetti3428 宝創るちゃんねるATENALES is a channel I've been watching a lot lately. I don't think most of the restoration channels I've started following quite fall into the category of blacksmithing, but it's fascinating to see all the various techniques. I never would have expected to enjoy watching people sandblasting things, for example. The channel I just mentioned does everything manually with almost no use of power tools. Another whose name I can't think of polishes everything, down to nuts and bolts, and it's all so beautiful!
I really liked the colour set up on that friend well done.
Unbelievable creation of a piece of art. Most beautiful piece of cutlery I have ever seen. Thank you for a great video.
Can we all appreciate the amount of time it takes this guy to repair 1 tool and post it onto KZhead (Amazing Vid)
Wood part of the handle looks great, love the finish on the blade. Nice
Belíssimo trabalho! Ficou incrível!👏👏👏

One of the greatest works you did I love the black 🥰
¡Estupendo trabajo de restauración...! Saludos desde Honduras.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Looks pretty good, and i also like the fact that u coloured the blade so it's not always just the same. :D keep it up!
The black and silver really looks gorgeous. You choose this colour scheme well. Makes it look expensive
Schön,einfach nur schön!!! Es fasziniert mich immer zu sehen das es Menschen gibt die ihre Finger nicht nur zum Nasebohren benutzen!!!!Klasse!
cleavers are near and dear to me, you did some odd things but i love how you did it without modifying the blade at all
That’s too beautiful to keep in the kitchen. Wow.
It's Beautiful 🌹❤️😍😘😍😍😘
It is great sometimes, admiring other people's work. Awesome job!!!
Good job. You got the handle right on this one.
This is actually your best knife. Congrats!!!
I love the black mirror look!
Love the handles you guys make! I like them much more than other restoration channels. Keep it up!
Me too just love em
Thanks for the spread of Mistry’s (Carpenters)
İt is the best of restoration channel !!
Probably my favorite tool restoration you have done. That cleaver is serious. Super baller! And I never use that word. Lol
You did a great job, and used some very interesting techniques both with chemicals and castings.
Not to be rude, but this the best looking one you've made! They're all good, but this one is my fave. Excellent work, sir!
saw this in a tasty vid
Red eyes
How is that rude?
@@legoatjagoat4691 just that I picked one of favorite ones. Because there are all good!
"How dare you imply that not all of my product are perfect!"
YOU ARE VERY TALENTED. I MADE KNIFES FOR 12BYEARS AND AS AN ORTHODONTIST VERY VERY DETAILED LIKE YOU. IF YOUR GOING TO SPEND THAT MUCH TIME IT NEEDS TO BE PERFECT. I MADE A HANDLE OUT OF MASTODON TUSK THAT HAD BEEN IN COPPER AREA SO WAS BLUE. VERY RARE.
Great job. I wish I were as steady with an angle grinder as you are. I gave up even doing rough stock removal because I always slip and cut places I didn't want to cut.
I don’t care how you get these things I’m just amazing at how good at it you are
Great video. I am your fan. i love you
ummmmm
wholesome
that blackening trick made me like the vid
No talking. Subscription earned.
In my not so humble opinion, I think this qualifies as art.
That knife will crack, after the hardening process you have to temper the metal to give it flexibility. Put the knife into an oven at 180 degrees celsius for an hour and a half, this is enough to temper it though you can alternatively use an open flame on clean metal so as to see the colour change. The metal will go a wheat/gold colour along the blade and if a flame is used the handle will remain silver. Between the handle and the blade, the metal will be blue if this is done correctly. After this process, you can continue the restoration however you please, even blacken the metal. In its current state however, the metal is hard enough to crack if dropped.
As soon as i saw the quenching and then the polishing i looked for a comment to see if i missed the tempering process
For sure especially if he tries to use it as a chopper (which I believe it’s a cleaver?)
@@eriktheginger99 Exactly right. As soon as it's used for it's intended purpose, I would put money on it cracking
@@1986Faruq He definitely did. I just really hope he doesn't try to use it to cut hard wood
It's a cleaver not an axe though.
that cleaver ended up sooo beautiful
I love that he’s keeping the normal sounds of the restouration. Really nice😂
Looks awesome! Thank you for not using brass on this one.

Much Beautiful than a brand new factory made knife.❤️
It's actually more beautiful, not much beautiful. Great comment regardless.
Thank you @Aid -
You could have made more of an effort on the handle tbh. But it's still a very nice project, glad to see old stuff getting reused.
Very nice bro !
Your work is beautiful, so much nicer to restore than replace. Keep up the good work.
Am I the only one who gets irked when they dont wear gloves with these projects? Protect your hands man!
Many_Lives You don’t wear gloves when using rotary tools and lots of other machinery. You’d risk it getting caught and pulling you in
Especially when it said, "Highly Corrosive."
bring on the cancer!!!!
He is probably more comfortable working without gloves in which case he may rarely be susceptible to be injured.
He has insurance so "he's in good hands" 😁
Nice to see that you take the time to re-harden (and temper) the blade so it can perform its best.
the more you do it , the better you get at it watching these videos beats mainstream entertainment
Is this like visual asmr for anyone else ? These time lapses restoration videos put me to sleep! Great video though lol
This video is so real that I can even smell the burnt metal !!
Fake video
Perfect restoration very nice color black
Beautiful work .....
LOL people will complain about everything. Wish I could do this kind of stuff. Well job
Such a great work! Congratulations!
Andreza Bosso hey you looks sexy
The Amount Of Skills You Have Used here Is Amazing!!! And Such A Finish Shows Us what A Great Thing This Blade And Handle Is Stunning Worked Details Its Beautiful Thankyou!!!
This man is insane.. I love it 😁
You should restore your hacksaw as well.
He needs a new one to restore it, and there you already have a new one. Lol
Make your own I bet it would look awesome! Like so he sees this!
I love the tapping when they speed the video up
Magnificent work! Beautiful job! It was a joy to watch the transformation from a rusty tool to a piece of artwork!
Dude you should totally start creating these masterpiece by yourself..
drew13600 hold up so you're saying that cleaver he made it by himself previously?
I would have kept the wood natural, just oiled.. but that's personal preference.. shape and material of the handle a perfect fit for the now lovely blade.. compliments!
What a stunning chopper!! Lovely work.
Cool work dude but your method is little bit different than others but keep it up 😀
Hi. My question is , what kind of liquid (acid ?) did you put the metal at the beginning to clean from the rust ?
BBC: Beautiful, black cleaver.
Wow! Your best one yet!! Beautiful! 🤩
Some master craftsmanship on display! Well done!
Your ideas and methods to achieve them are unique. Keep it up and your fit and finish will improve. Always strive to make your next project 100 times better than your last.

It's beautiful. It's definitely a craft to be proud of.
That is breathtakingly gorgeous
This sounds like asmr
Yeah it does
You know, I was always interested why they called it “dry sanding” is there wet sanding? Paste sanding? And the research for wet sanding was actually really interesting how it “floats” away all the particles that have been sanded off. But I still don’t understand why we don’t just wet sand everything if it seems more efficient.
kellen liame well we have dry sanding because things like wood shouldn’t really be wet sanded.
I love the sped up hammering process.
That's popping ham hard amazing skill set really
What is the first chemical he pre-soaks with???
I was going to ask the same question I sure wish this guy would reply to some of his comments I would subscribe
It was all so good but I feel like you should have done a sharpness test.... Feels unfinished.
Wow that cleaver was beat up! Very nice Restoration!
Very good blade. Black is beautifully shining. Good job! !
