Part 17: • Lil Reese Details 2021...
Part 15: • Lil Reese on Getting J...
Part 1: • Lil Reese on Growing U...
--------------------
In this clip, Lil Reese recounts the night when he found out that his close friend King Von got shot and killed in Atlanta. The Chicago rapper illustrates the devastation before DJ Vlad brings up the fact that 100K Track once compared King Von's murder to the slaying of Tupac back in 1996. To that, Lil Reese states that he doesn't view the incident as sad but that he misses his fallen friend and that he does not like the rapper that many have blamed in the aftermath--Quando Rondo.

    @BigNate27100@BigNate271002 жыл бұрын
    • I think it's more than that. I'm confident it is. He could easily express everything he feels at anytime but this isn't a man who plays checkers. This is a Chess Grand Master. That's likely the reason he's not in prison right now too but that's another topic. There's a few questions everyone should always ask themselves before saying anything and id like to think Reese knows it. "Does this need to be said? Does this need to be said now? And does this need to be said now, by me? These responses are coming from a man who has a plan and that plan is almost certianly violent and absolutely involves someone from their side losing everything they have. Reese different though, he wants to take everything they love, and no one to ever hear about it. This isn't a child who wants credit for what happens next. This is a man who considers nothing but the strategy to fulfill his goal. The only part of that strategy i know is that he doesn't want anyone to know how he feels or what he's thinking. Its almost like he hopes this is used in court.

It doesn't hurt anymore because it's so common. Which is why it's hard for him to feel the hurt of losing someone so close, but he obviously understands that this is what you sign up for when you commit to the streets... that's why he scoffed at the question of being sad.

  • I remember when I was in 3rd grade one of the kids I heard had passed away.. I was so sad.. I was fucked up about it.. I'm 30 now.. I grew up in the streets.. I know so many people that passed away from Gun violence that it eventually doesn't really bother you anymore.. It hurts.. But you get Numb to it.. In 2020 I knew 10 people that got killed throughout the Summer.. It was like before I could Grieve one person someone else got killed, before I could grieve someone else got killed.. Eventually you just Numb up to it.. The Pain is there, but... You just eventually can't feel for shit anymore.. Unless they are in your Immediate circle you won't even shed a tear.. I can say from 2010 until this year, I know about 30 people who have died all together.. I probably cried for about 3 of them.. If I take my Mother out the equation I cried for 2.. I just lost 2 Niggas I grew up with in January in a shooting.. That was the first time I cried for someone I know getting Killed since 2011 when My homeboy got killed by the Police.. I cried because one out of the two I was once best friends with at one point in life.. We got older and grew apart but we from the same hood.. We always see eachother ect.. Like we distant cousins lol. I've known him since I was 11/12.. Some people that pass away seems unreal.. Like damn it don't feel like they were supposed to die.. Then he died trying to get his life together.. Over a Bitch.. I shed a few tears.. But overall, I'm Numb.. I see that Reese is the Same way.. That feeling goes away after a while.. It's like you hear Someone you know gets killed and all you can say is "Damn" with literally no feelings attached.. It's also different when you a real street nigga and you die.. Niggas don't feel forreal cus we know you knew what was coming.. Like Reese said, "It's the streets".. A sad reality we live out here...

I lost so many this past era from 2015 to now I lost so many relatives, friends, pets, etc. And I just feel empty or something is missing when I don't hear them anymore. I miss my grandma last year, my 2 cats in which they past away early this year, my younger cousin in law, grandpa, and grandma vita and there is way more than I mentioned who past. It sucks my that I don't hear my grandma saying my nick name anymore, she was only member of rhe family that can give the positive silence treatment that we deserve when we feel troubled. Even my friends and local neighbors called her grandma cause of her funny positive caring nature.

    • Yeah let's also think of all the lives being lost now that Von has influenced over three million people. I won't say music makes someone do anything. But music definitely alters one's perception on their own reality, and now children looking up to this man are being conditioned to be ok with this type.of senseless killing. Personally I love his music and always have. But the tragedy behind his stories and own actions are far too big to overlook. My soul hurts knowing the pain involved in the drill scene, only begets more pain. Von may have had a code, he mad😅e have been a man who stood behind principles no matter how dark they may have been, but Von was NOT a good man. By no means should he be lifted on a pedestal as a hero or a victim in any way. He was a child in pain, causing other more pain to mask his own. His story is truly sad and deeply disturbing. I pray the world sees the lesson he teaches and looks beyond his glory given to the streets. No matter how cool any rapper makes that shit look and sound, the streets will NEVER love you. The streets will NEVER care about you. Streets will only KILL you and TAKE from you.

  • I often think of ptsd and depression when i hear young rappers from chicago speak in interviews. I dont think its an OVERLOOKED fact, but i think it has a greater volume than we most often realize or admit. Im not thinking of Reese in particular when i make this next point, but i do include him in the observation. Often there is this huge contrast visible in the life of young chicago gangster rappers. They are SUCCESFUL, but they are traumatized. And for obvious reasons, they "have to" play the art of war, either from reasons in the past or the present. Internal and external reasons. They cant show any soft spots. So what that creates is a reality with an enormous amount of trauma, and no constructive way to deal with that, or even talk about it openly. Its a battle where even the winners lose something, because surviving leaves them crippled. Also, thats not even the tip of the iceberg. These are just the succesful people that we get to hear about. For every one of them there is at least a whole block of people (families) that we dont hear about aside from depressing news headlines.

    • @LAW Yeah i think fault is a whole other discussion, but i mostly feel that in the grand scheme there is not much to gain from discussing fault. Fault is relative and every single individual situation is different and can be judged on its own. Also, asking "whos fault is it?" has to do with the past. When i see this situation, my mind is asking "whats is really happening here", and i think the reason i ask this is because im telling myself that a situation like this can only be happening due to it being out of peoples control. This cant REALLY be what the people in the situation want for themselves, or at least wanted before they were moved by trauma and depression. .

  • Damn it's sad that alot of young black men are numb to death. Something has to give. 😔 I'm so glad I left New York while my son was a toddler cus now that he's 16 his life is moving in a great positive path vs if I didn't leave NY , he would've probably been in the streets or jail. 90 percent of young men I grew up with in my hometown are either dead or in jail. The few that survived were smart enough to relocate. I thank God everyday for allowing me to raise a stand up young man. I swear my son has never given me any issues. He's graduating high school early and will be attending the NASA college program. As a single black mom, I am blessed and I'm proud! 👏🏾 I pray that these young black men will find guidance that will lead them to a straight path.

    • @@sharonjohnson9720 I’m aware love. It’s just coming strictly from one human to another…. Compassion and empathy. That’s it. No matter the bad shit we do… None of us are exempt from needing Love! And honestly, a lot of this stems from the lack there of and wanting to be seen, heard and loved. You have the most magnificent day✨ it was my thought and my feeling by watching this clip and I am allowed to have that. You don’t have to agree with me. I get your sentiment totally too.

    • @@tjmoore9964 not meant to offend. No offense taken. I spoke from experience. As much as we may want to empathize. If you are spiritually discerned. The devil does not want you to lay hands on him. We must be very aware . Prayer is powerful. Very powerful. Love when we as total strangers can agree to disagree. Yet not be disagreeable with each other. You have a blessed day as well. Please be prayed up and stay safe. 💖

    • @@sharonjohnson9720 Indeed! I don’t know any of these young men and most likely won’t ever see them. However, I feel like in today’s time humanity is truly missing. We can’t change everything and everyone, but the willingness to see someone in pain and connect on that level is what empathy is about. He will have to take into account for whatever he has done, as will we all. It was simply a thought. As most of the comments have stated his eyes tell the story. I don’t think it’s too late for anyone to change, as long as they have breath and they want to. I still feel for anyone on all ends in these situations. I am the change I wish to see…. And part of that deals compassion, empathy and grace to those even when we may feel they are not worthy. I appreciate the dialogue🙏🏾 I also speak from experience and absolutely discernment is so very important.
