Set at Christmas time, “Godmothered” is a comedy about Eleanor, a young, inexperienced fairy godmother-in-training (Jillian Bell) who upon hearing that her chosen profession is facing extinction, decides to show the world that people still need fairy godmothers. Finding a mislaid letter from a 10-year-old girl in distress, Eleanor tracks her down and discovers that the girl, Mackenzie, is now a 40-year-old single mom (Isla Fisher) working at a news station in Boston. Having lost her husband several years earlier, Mackenzie has all but given up on the idea of “Happily Ever After,” but Eleanor is bound and determined to give Mackenzie a happiness makeover, whether she likes it or not.

For the past 10+ years Disney barely did these little small movies anymore. Movies like Freaky Friday, College Road Trip, Santa Clause, etc.. i am SO happy Disney has found a home for these projects. We love big blockbusters but staying in with cosy blankets to watch a smaller movie is great as well.

Have you ever checked out the 500 Kingdoms series by Mercedes Lackey? The first book follows a 'Cinderella' who learns that her prince won't work out and becomes a fairy godmother instead.
OUAT really fell apart after season 2, all the characters in Storybrooke just became background extras to whatever new characters they were introducing and popped up in later seasons to be useful for one episode then disappear again

Just finished watching and I loved it!!! You have no idea how inspiring it is to see a beautiful plussize woman like Jillian Bell in the lead role, not being there to be the butt of the movie but to bring charisma and meaningful joy. I loved everything about it, way to go Disney! Maybe people find it weird that people point out the plussize fact, it should be normal to have people of all shapes and kinds as great lead actresses/actors but sadly it's not normal yet. Therefore it's important to point it out and see it as improvement

My cousin's husband is a cinematographer, and did the Cinematography for this. I got told about this movie last December before production had started and had to keep quiet about it. So excited for its release.
I just finished watching this. It was delightful. The actress who did the fairy godmother was hilarious and perfect. Well done, all. ✨

I came here thinking it’s some unwanted prequel to Cinderella but I’m glad this is not coming to theaters too. Surprised it’s coming out so soon also. Haven’t seen a studio sneak a new movie out this soon since 10 Cloverfield Lane.

While Godmothered has its clunky or overplayed moments, it's a truly sweet film with a big heart that finds the magic in everyday life.

Courtney was fascinated by all this and wanted her life to be as gorgeous as her mother's was; both as the golden childhood and as the wedding and reunion-like reconcilation. She enjoyed her royal life after she returned to the palace. So This Is Love will play as she and Jane dance with Domain and Francis. Fairy Godmothers may be made up for children, but they can be around when you embark for destiny.
Made me cry and inspired. One of the best movies!

Just finished the movie. It a great way to pass time and watch with family. I thought the plot would be cliche but was greatly surprised. Dont let the Trailer fool you, the movie was a lot of fun and a great inspiration for younger audiences and Older to remember that happiness comes in different forms and so does love. The Film has some great laughs and silliness but the over all message was well done and important. Do recommend this movie for Family nights and someone just wants something positive, warm and fuzzy to watch.

I love the theme of magic and fairy godmothers. It looks very magical and fun. The title, the first thing that made me suppose is that it would be a Live-Action that would tell the story of Cinderella's Fairy Godmother, which would be incredible, don't you think? But I also love this original story and I find it very cute

Before the animated Cinderella, there was a Silly Symphony of that story, cookie-themed! Then the animated Cinderella and its sequels were created. Around that time, there came the Cinderella Story franchise and a series of junior school plays and finally, an allusion of it by some parts on Disney's Phineas and Ferb. Finally after that, Cinderella came to life. Also, Courtney LeShawn eluded scullery work, never lost her parents, and declined abandoning her dreams. She didn't want her motivations to match Cinderella's motivations. That was because Cinderella described them to her when she was a little girl. Curious about them, she examined the house of Cinderella's people one day before discovering and understanding her mother's past; her golden childhood, her humiliating scullery maid roles, her lack of luck until the approach of her fairy godmother (her reality became a dream come true), her dreamy dance with Kit at a palace's royal ball, her midnight flee, her confrontation and captivity, her freedom, her reunion with the prince and their wedding along with the planned party and coronation and the time reversal and her heroic attempt to revert everything to the way it was.
