Loved both my dobies!!
I've had both. And both are fantastic. As any breed, or species, there are differences. Reason why people can prefer 1 sex over the other. My horses show district differences. As well as my Dobs.
Both trained ME to pet them when I visited them. (N-not like I like p-petting dogs or anything! I just pet them so they d-don't bite me! Hmph!)
You seemed to not speak about their size. Hight, weight ! Dobermans in my situation may be too big. So I was seeking a smaller version that was not a toy size.

Hate seeing these dogs with cropped ears! How wonderful are the Doberman’s that haven’t been mutilated Wish the USA would make it illegal to mutilate dogs ears and tails
I can tell you…cropped ears lead no no ear infections. Air gets in there. No moisture.
They are perfect with cut ears, also much less vulnerable
I am happy that the AKC supports the trimming of the ears and tail. It is part of the breed's Indentity. They look like a Doberman Pinscher when they breed to the Standard.

cut off ears and tails.. in my country,The Netherlands, forbidden by law... for every breed of dogs.. ever seen a circus elephant that was misfigured this way.. or a human/ (last I did see, but those have a free will)..

I wouldn't own a male anything
I had a female Doberman Pinscher. They are special. They are highly attentive and loyal. I have a male Doberman Pinscher now! The female is better in several ways. The reason I didn't get another one was because the females seem to become incontinent, fairly frequent. My female became incontinent by age 3. She was on medication for 6 years. Then, in the remaining 3 years, we worked together and managed her incontinence together without the medication. She was wonderful and instinctively seemed to understand what I wanted her to do. Wherever I made her bed or placed her pads down, she would lay on them. She would wait until I placed her absorbent towels and pads down before she would lay down. They had to be fresh and clean. She would sniff them before laying down. lol...lol...lol.. She was so intelligent and attentive. My male is more terrortrial and selfish. He is more about himself than me. He is more aggressive as well.
