Emily Webb, a University student who has rowed for her country, gives a confident pitch explaining the blister preventing hand grips for rowers. Emily is seeking an investment of £75,000 in return for a 20% equity stake.
An international sensation, Dragon's Den features entrepreneurs pitching for investment in the Den from our Dragons, five venture capitalists willing to invest their own money in exchange for equity.

For 20 yrs of age she was excellent. Bet she would have wiped the floor with some of the dragons at the same age.
I would have tried to find a way to invest in her directly if she had a holding company because I would have bet that she'd come up with something that would work out even if this product didn't. 20 years old, at uni, athlete, with a business, multiple international patents already. I’ve watched enough to see a pattern developing throughout. She is not under scrutiny but that of anxiousness and “ Spot light “ pressure. They won’t edit it this way because the dragons need a semi exuse not to invest. I think it’s wrong to expect everyone to remember everything about their business under such pressure in the den. It’s not fair and should be presented in a way that they focus on this and not seeking bullshit as a big know it all. Disgraceful to say the least. Why do they always blame the other person whilst maintaining no interest... or not their passion but have to downgrade the other person and not them. Think about it!’
Totally agree with you. I thought Emily was articulate, intelligent and polite, I do hope she has succeeded. Peter Jones is so arrogant and he needs to stop stroking his ego with a large brush and respect others and stop belittling. He comes off as a power greedy, ego maniac. I hope she continues with her passion and believe in what she is doing :-)
Its actually reasonable to expect someone to know how much their company is making, do you know how much you are making now? Do you remember how much you were making last year? Of course you do, it's not a complicated question
@@benthompson8256 it is if Your under pressure and feeling anxious with the situation not to mention the Lights and cameras and bald eagle eyes protruding on oneself. It takes a lot for someone to execute this given we are not all the same and handle situations differently. We don’t think the same but are judged the same. Whatever makes TV right?
I can definitely detect the nervousness. She's only 20 and she's got a business for gods sake! How many people can say they did that at THAT age?
@@benthompson8256 I agree. Numbers become difficult to recall when you don't really have a feel for what they represent. When someone struggles with the numbers, it can be an indication that they don't have an overview of how the business financials will balance. Knowing what your costs and expected returns are is crucial.
Those on crutches, off work, are looking for ways to SAVE money, not spend more, unfortunately. This is a generalisation BTW.

Say what you will good Dr., but those old has-beens know a thing or two about business, whereas missy there still has much to learn. She was woolly on numbers and completely lacking in a strategy. Would you lay your hard earned for this investment? Really?
she does not need money. She should have said I will you 50% of my company and you help me get this product into the right hands. Asking money is the biggest mistake people make. They should only ask for help in getting sales. Once you get a purchase order financing is easy. If I went on DD, I would offer a big chunk for no money.
