My mom had a 11984 Chevrolet Caprice Classic 4-door, and I STILL miss that car 2 this very day. My dream Chevrolet caprice would be a 1989 Chevrolet Caprice 9C1 retired from Texas DPS.

Dude that is a gem! I am so jealous. I have been searching for a 9C1 for years. I found so many that were just clapped out or just straight rotted through. As the years go by these cars get more and more hard to find. Keep that one in good shape dude.

My parent's daily drove a blue 94 9c1 ex Maine state police car when i was a kid (it's still in the back yard) unfortunately the maine winters rotted it to shit :( they probably never knew how popular they would be now. Would kill for one like this 😍 these are so much more sought after than a crown vic and are faster cars.

Love it ! I saw a 9c1 for sale around me for 700 bucks I should've jumped on it. I have a 94 caprice lt1 it's got a cam and all the supporting mods I love it but want a stock one cause there awesome cars to just cruise in.

Many officers have told me that these easily would outrun the new crown vics. The vics were easier to maintain and upfit though

It's true. Vic's are easier to work on but the Caprice is faster.i think it's a more comfortable ride too.

I got caprice Classic 81 for 9 years then i got caprice 90 then crown vic 93 then crown vic 2004 then i got back to 2 of 96 caprice Classic one white and the other one blue they beautiful cars to drive . Nice 👍 car you got brother don’t sell it

I have a 1994 9c1 123000 miles when I got it has 127 now super fresh only thing bad are door panels in the front I got the rubber floor no carpet all original lt1 motor 👌🏿 but this one is super fresh 💯 I need another one hope I can find one like this

You've got a unicorn. Keep it clean. Impressive find. Not many in that good of condition. I'd love to get a Caprice 9C1 from 95-96. I remember when departments wouldn't give up the Caprices and would get refurbs on them before eventually giving in and buying CVPI's.

La anterior generación de Caprice Classic. 1977 a 1990 , si tenian los paragolpes metálicos cromados. Esta generación de Caprice Classic fabricada de 1991 a 1996 le vendría muy bien estéticamente, los paragolpes delanteros y traseros cromados y la carcasa de los retrovisores también cromadas. There is an issue with your fans. They should be kicking on long before it hits that temperature. Had the same issue with my 1996.

Florida is a bad place for a 9C1 to retire? Try Illinois hahaha. There is literally ZERO, besides mine and its sister car still in service where I bought it from. I got it STRAIGHT from the police auction, didn't have to worry about it being chopped up and cut up, literally 101% original haha. Mine's just as nice as yours, which is crazy rare here.

I drove one of these that was an old FHP car and it was impressive but don't get the distributor wet I have a 94 Corvette with the LT1 and luckily haven't had trouble with the optispark but everyone has told me about getting the distributor wet also on the temperature LT1 engines do run warm partly because of the reverse flow water pump they made them to run warm to help with emissions and complete burning of gasoline from what I've read .

I put an auxilary fan control/adjustable t-stat on the primary fan, would run much cooler which is easier on the trans and everything else.

It appeared the fuel pump circuit was fried from a bad fuel pump prior my ownership or catastrophic event, so they used the fan circuit to run the fuel pump. So I added the adjustable t-stat and new circuit with relay to the auxilary equipment circuit. Highly recommend anyone does this on an LT-1 car unless it has the heavy duty belt driven fan option. the adjustable Thermostat is money well spent over just an auxilary switch IMHO.

1996 Caprice with the LT1 doesnt have a distributor, they have the Optispark.

The limiter on a stock 9C1 is 147 MPH. Normal "Civilian" Caprice's have a 108 MPH limiter and the Impala SS doesn't have one.
