Description of Ford Truck taken from Wikipedia "The Ford F-Series is a series of light-duty trucks and medium-duty trucks (Class 2-7) that have been marketed and manufactured by Ford Motor Company since 1948. While most variants of the F-Series trucks are full-size pickup trucks, the F-Series also includes chassis cab trucks and commercial vehicles.
The most popular version of the F-Series is the Ford F-150, produced in thirteen different generations. It has been the best-selling vehicle in the United States since 1981 and the best-selling pickup since 1977.[1][2] It is also the best selling vehicle in Canada.[3]
In 1999, to bridge the gap between the pickup line and the medium-duty trucks, the F-250 and F-350 were redesigned separately with the introduction of the Ford Super Duty series. Currently, the F-Series includes the F-150, the Super Duty (F-250 through F-550), and F-650 and F-750 Super Duty medium-duty commercial trucks.
Through rebadging, the F-Series has sold through all three divisions of Ford Motor Company in North America. The Mercury M-Series was sold in Canada from 1946 to 1968 due to the limited dealership network in rural areas. The Lincoln Blackwood and Lincoln Mark LT were rebadged versions of the Ford F-150 sold during the 2000s as Lincoln attempted to market a luxury pickup truck."l .

1985 : Drive the trucks at 50mph through bumpy roads full of big rocks and dirt 2019 : throw tool boxes in the bed
And then proceed to drive it on a gravel track Edit: slowly Just to make sure it doesn’t trip a sensor and go into limp home mode
And then send it to the dealer to be sold and work like that for the next 20 years. Those were REAL trucks
Legend has it that ford is still on the moon
Perhaps predator or alf found it
@wesleynash2598 how on God's green earth did that Ford get on the moon????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm a GM guy but I love these old Ford commercials. Reminds me when I was a kid watching TV with my family. The 80s were the best. I wouldn't even mind having one of those old trucks now.
Same here. Had a 94 Ranger I got cheap when I was 16, had a lot of fun with it. And I just bought a 91 F250.
@Amplass 333 The older I get the less prejudice I have with cars. I'm a car when it comes to classics. Life's too short for petty arguments over which is best. They are a part of history.
That's pretty cool man
in these days the trucks were nicer than today...and had manual gearshift...I miss them
And on those trucks if something goes bad you can put hand and fix it and on newer trucks you have to take them to the dealer which is a bad idea because they would charge you more than what you needed.
And they didn't make all kinds of noises like beeps
@@soupies6128 =A new winner for the most illogical post of the day. What was the payload and towing of the 1985 F-350? Answer. Notot enough. Ford trucks of that era could never have a perfect alignment. Tough? A Modern Ranger will out tow and out work a 1985 F-150.
Haha that’s why I drive an 86
Tacoma
Ford F150 1985 straight 6 ... the best truck ever 🙌
I just love the 80's FORD trucks!
I likes the Fords, but not that year, 90s-2000s were good years, I'm more into the diesels, ford lost my respect when they ditched the 7.3 powerstroke for the crappy 6.0 and on newer engines that cannot get any real miles before major money is to be spent.
Ford trucks, Bronco and Bronco II 1980s i love it. My years favorites 1985, 1986, 1987 and 1988. My version favorite is flareside, Bronco and Bronco II 85-88
I do as well, I got a 85 F150 with the Explorer Trim package it's a blast to drive.
Me to.
The 70's and 80's were the best trucks ever built. I've got a 1974 Ford F-250 Ranger SuperCab. It'll take anything you throw at it
my grand pa bought a 85 ford f150 straight 6. 4 speed. brandnew off the lot. still runs great 37 years later
redneckcountryboy how many miles does it have.
Do you get mixed up with the period key and space bar for some reason?
4.9L Straight 6s were damn good engines.
Straight 6 is a beautiful engine
I have a 85 Ranger, transmission is shot but the suspension will still outlast any new truck
Nothing is more american than a 80s Ford truck 🤙
so we aint gonna talk about how they recreated the moon that easily for a truck commercial
They beat the shit out of them. Now a truck commercial just has it driving down the road, MAYBE a gravel road.
JRC99 I'm a Ford man until the day I die. But unfortunately, all companies are building their trucks cheaper. Older trucks regardless of the brand were built better. I'll take a 78 Ford Ranger any day over anything new if I had the choice. Old Fords and Chevys were just built better 50 years ago
Ben Middleton the ranger didn't come out until 83. Do you mean the ranger trim level.
legostar55 he means the f100 ranger
@@benmiddleton9984 too be honest with ya I will take a old c30 or a f600 (would prefer the f600) but they all can work forever as long as you keep them maintained!
0:11 Does he have a buffalo in the back of his Ford Ranger? lmao
0:19 dude was seriously pounding his meat to that passing by ford truck, awesome!
He's very impressed
I'm lmfao bahahaha time for a Chevy truck owners are super gay joke
Uh, heh-heh, hey Beavis, he's petting his hot dog, heh-heh
Ford rules! Bring the Eddie Bauer Bronco back. I see old broncos all the time. Built like a tank.
It's kinda ironic they show a Ford truck on the moon because the moon rover was actually designed by GM. Pretty cool commercials non the less.
Just under 6k for a Ranger and the new ones now are around 37k, my how times change.
I'm gonna paint my I-beams red and yellow now...
Too funny
they probably came painted that way in the 80s, on another note that I-Beam suspension was actually really bad on tires and caused the front tires to wear out really quick on these trucks.
thelasthallow No it didn’t. I’ve had plenty of Fords from this era and they were all fine with normal tire wear. That was just a Chevy rumor
thelasthallow yea, that’s just a rumour. Probably Chevy people trying to draw attention away their lower ball joint failure.
@@thelasthallow no way.
Man I miss my little Bronco ll. That thing went anywhere!
$5993.00 for a brand new Ford ranger.....man I miss those prices
Very odd to see extended cabs back then. Now it’s very tough to even find a single cab today.
Ford’s SuperCab has always looked good. But the old single cab’s looked great. Nowadays the singles look terrible
@@Quint1836 they look fantastic on a super duty. If I had the cash, I would buy a single cab 250 right now
@@Quint1836 I hope you will reply to this my papa had a 1976 Ford SuperCab it was light blue
@@sherryhannah498nice
2:42 that's $13,619 adjusted for inflation. For a truck 😱
Slatternly Skaghalter theres also more wiring, technology and vehicles have crumple zones which takes a lot to engineer into a vehicle
@@MichaelFletcher-to7mm all unneeded crap
A Cat while you may see crumple zones as unneeded I’d actually prefer to survive a bad crash. Don’t get me wrong I plan on getting me an old ford someday and I know that there is a slight risk when driving one. Just trying to say it’s not unneeded if it helps in safety. Now comfort is another thing because you don’t have to be comfy
@@MichaelFletcher-to7mm lol I got into a wreck 3 years ago. Head on crash with combined speed of around 80mph. I in my 89 wrangler and the other kid in a new Nissan something or other coupe. When that a-hole crossed that line when he checked his phone... My wrangler ate that car up. Yes my frame bent in half, but everything was able to be stripped from the truck and reused. His engine was in his lap. I used all of HIS crumple zones. So in short, unless you hit a tree, you will be fine in an old vehicle. Just make sure you hit a newer vehicle when you decide to do so😂👍💪
K G got it if I’m in a classic car use newer cars as airbags
I want to go back to the 1980s
Bill Petropoulos I never even got to see them
@@raysfamilymobiledetailing2731 RIP
me 1970s.
You can still buy these trucks used.
My Dad had an '83 Ranger. Had the 2.3 Liter four, 4 speed manual. Not very quick 0-60, but tough and ran forever
God Bless America and all Ford trucks❤️
I'm a blue oval fan boy I own 86 F150,73 F350 scs, 00 Expedition and 86 Ford jayco
i have an 85 6.9 f250 xl. Its at 150,000 miles and still goes. BUILT FORD TOUGH!
Dang, you must not drive it much, my dad had a 2000 f250 until 2010 and put almost 300,000 miles on it
85 F250 xlt 460 at 257,989 miles...still going!!🤞❤
Theses adds make me want to buy a 1980's Ford pickup with 8.8% financing
2:03 :) I miss the old squarebody trucks :(
RIP good trucks
wish i was alive back then to get a new ranger!
My dad had a 1987 ranger ext cab two tone paint. Man do I miss that truck. Spent some of my best years in that truck when I was a kid
I love the old tv truck commercials , I recently restored my 79 F-100 Ranger XLT undercarriage... but I gonna redo it again with all the parts different colour like the trucks from the TV adds ... it looks so cool the parts underneath yellow , red , green , white , blue , purple ...
Leandro Machado A Lada is better
Fire Power701 if Russians makes they car like the women then it’s the best ! Best women I’ve ever been was Russian
Algún latino viendo esta maravilla Saludos desde Mendoza Argentina
back when they made trucks. probably the best it ever got for american trucks. went down hill fast after the 90s
You’d sell a lot more trucks these days with ads like that. That was incredible. Now I want to go buy an ‘85
And today’s ranger is like 40k, the old rangers where popular because the common working man could afford it.
The '84 F-150 is still cheap to keep and easy to repair. Parts are still readily available and my labor rates are $0 per hour.
Wow, independent front suspension must have been a pretty big deal back then.
5-6 grand for a new ranger? Nowadays even the cheapest new vehicles you need a 10 year loan to even hope to be able to afford it
@Eli Suryana yes but it would be cheaper than one of those f150 they have now
my daily driver is an 85 ranger ext cab 5 speed 4x4
Sorry for you
I had an 86 ford ranger and i miss that little 4x4 5 speed pos so bad.. used to love to go offroad with it
Mateo Lemus why? These trucks are bulletproof
@@mateolemus3117 why? You chevy guy or something?
Imagine driving along and you get stopped by a sentient traffic cone with a red light on it's head that shoots lasers at you
I have a 87 ranger as my first truck and it’s a lil 4 cylinder it’s great
I had a 1984 Ford Ranger which bought preowned. I sure remember the Bronco II & I liked the full size Bronco in the 80's.
That's pretty cool dude 👌🏼
Back in these days trucks could handle the poundings shown here. Nowadays, not so much.
redneck400m yep. That's because everything is made out of plastic to save money. All brands do it unfortunately
@@benmiddleton9984 and For Government Fuel Economy.
charger master not anymore. They got rid of CAFE laws. I was told at least.
Imagine sitting watching nascar on a Sunday afternoon and having a bullnose ford ad come on. Sounds so American.
I got my dads ol 84 F150 Running after years of neglect now it’s my daily, 302W backed by AOD Trans 4-Speed and 3.55:1 Gears in the Back. Wish I was able to buy one brand new.
@ 2:52 did anyone notice that bigfoot truck run over that beautiful 69 Plymouth road runner, or am I just seeing things 🇺🇸👍
Man this makes me love my 1986 F350 truck
would kill for a new xls ranger..
6:39. A Ford ranger for 5,993? That was a deal! Consider that 5,993 was like 13,900 in today's money. You cant get a 2019 ranger for 13k. Today's trucks are over priced and over done.
my ford truck and me lol
The new escape should be called Bronco 2
god i miss my 85 ranger
The first commercial always makes me simile.
Ford pickup trucks is so popular and also the commercial is so popular.
I've got a 1985 F-150 4.9L I6 and 4-speed overdrive transmission. Sure it's rusty and the transmission is eating itself alive but a toyota corolla crashed into the back of it and it hardly did a damn thing. BUILT FORD TOUGH!
Ford builds tough shit, our 15' Explorer has 150k, our 07' 500 has 145k, and our 03' F150 Fx4 has 170k. They've all held up very well considering my family is hard on cars.
Got a new 84 short box 4x4 4.9 4 speed with granny 21 years of Pismo beach, Sierra,s and 540,000 miles when I sold it in 2005 to guy down the street and he’s still driving it to his gold claim
Wow
2:37 OH CRAP HERE COMES BIGFOOT
Ha! I remember the Doug Flutie commercial lol.
Ohh man they used the SAME set they used to fake the moon landing HAHAHHAHA Best truck I've owned 94 Ranger when I parted with it, had 372k on the clock.
I was thinking just about the same lol
Best little truck ever built.
My friends 94 ranger has 415,000 km on it and it runs great. The only problem is that one of the tiny seats that pops out in the back is stuck.
This looked more legit than the Apollo footage.
5:09 "urban off-roading" ah, takes me back to grandtheft auto 4.
Low 8.8% financing?? My how things have changed.
michael dierks lmao
With my shitty credit, I'd kill for 8.8%
I can't belive they fkng gave me a 17% interest in a chevrolet dealer
That was way higher in 1979 and 1980 though.
Well when you're financing $6k its not as bad lol
2:25 mind blowing beautiful... that’s it’s how is here where I live in Adelaide Hills , South Australia 🇦🇺
So trucks were 6 thousand back than
about $13,580 in 2017
that is still considerably cheaper then the base price of stock f150 now 27k lol and if you go to 250 32k
Nuttty that's because not many people who buy a new truck use it like a truck
You can't even crank the damn thing on the moon since it's near pure vacuum
Golly, Now that you mention it, maybe they didn't film the commercial on the moon after all...
That was Richard Moll (bull from Night Court) AS THE GUY IN THE YELLOW SUIT.
I thought that was him
Crazy to think in 1985 you could buy a brand new Ford Ranger for $5993 lol. Minimum wage was like $4 per hour. Inflation, wages and cost of living sure has screwed us. Minimum wage has only doubled in almost 40 years but cost of a small pickup is 5 or 6 times what it was almost 40 years ago. You could buy a huge single family home on over 5 acres in Virginia for $100,000 and now that same home/property almost 10X’d.
I would kill for a mint stock bullnose ford with a v8.
THIS is how commercials are done right. Take notes, Potsch
Loved those Bronco 11 ,had 3 .try buying one in Canada now. Especially in the maritimes
I don’t see very many old fords on the road but I do see a lot of old GM trucks on the road
inndependant front suspension was selling point back then
When ford vehicles were actually affordable.
2:40 HOLY MOMMA!!! Only $5993!!!! Wow the American dollar isn’t worth anything anymore....
if Doug Flutie drove it than it really is the best..
That sounds like Kenny Rogers singing in that 1'st commercial
@4:27 poor guy - he races to the concert to perform a part that Beethoven never wrote. He could’ve stayed out with his Bronco instead. 😁
To be head of Ford I would bring production back to the states. Built with pride. Here on US soil. With more in house R&D. Sure, lose money for a while. But a good campaign and marketing strategy will help. And produce more jobs back home. It’s only a matter of time (and not long) before this catches on. And Ford will be a true American brand again.
Ford best truck
4:05 I miss Bronco II
Looking for the trucks that used the Iseley Brothers singing.
Rinaldi & Kline !! 😆😆😅🤣😂
Ranger back then 5,892 now 32,500.😳 Love my Ford trucks!!!🇺🇸🦅🇺🇲🫡
These ads want me to go out and buy a 1985 ford pickup truck with 8.8% financing.
FORD Trucks - The Best Never Rest! Top selling truck in the United States for 40 consecutive years! FORD >>> gm, FIAT-dodge, titt-an, blundra. lol.
Nice ford truck
Nice Channel
5:16 is that Ben Afflec
This commercial looks more realistic than the Moon landing
If Bill Brasky was a truck
Miss 80’s Ford. Trucks. Miss those days. When. A lady. Set next to you
I bought an 87 Toyota new, My friend bought an 88 Ranger. Guess which on lasted about 20 years longer! 😂
the ranger. I have an 88 ranger with 280K on it. still going strong...toyota and nissan could barely make it up the big grade on the freeway back in '88..which is why my family chose the ranger.
Liam Parkki My dad had and 88 ranger with 379,xxx and not any problems. Then a tree fell on it.
Liam Parkki yeah but check out them Ford trucks nowadays, they're softball shells that won't even last for more than 8 years
Sir Josefsson RC maybe so.. but I still would never buy a dammed toyota..
Thats literally all new vehicles i mean the old ones have to be worked on from time to time but its $50 here or there not $4000 to fix a minor problem because everything is overbuilt
1980s: watch us beat the shit out of this truck lmao Now: WE'RE GONNA DROP A TOOLBOX IN IT HOW COOL IS THAT
What’s the name of the song in the first commercial?
Not enough oxygen on the moon to complete internal combustion.
Me gusta la camioneta; le hizo competencia a la Chevrolet
My 89 Ranger has over 300,000 miles and still runs great. 4 cylinder 2WD. Folks, these pretty girly trucks you see now will never make half that or age nearly as well with how complicated and shoddily built they are these days.
regular cars sent me here

that's earth in the background not the moon, glad you don't work for NASA
