  • I love how Rune approaches to the net more often. Becker influence can be seen in short time. He is capable of doing these type of shot selections instead of sitting in baseline. Good for him

    • Have you seen the match though ? I mean have you seen Rune at all? Net rushes aren’t new to Becker at all and it isn’t always right. In fact he does way too many of them and that cost him the 2nd set

      @davidmonnier6477@davidmonnier64774 ай бұрын
    • @@davidmonnier6477 Yes I watched. Net play is kinda new thing for Rune, I think you gotta watch him more carefully. he wasn't doing that often in previous seasons. It doesn't matter he missed in 2nd set, throughout the years he will learn good shot selection, it's an evolution. Important think is he add another layer of his game which Alcaraz had but Rune hadn't, that's a step up

      @mustafa_sakalli@mustafa_sakalli4 ай бұрын
    • @@mustafa_sakalli Hm I may be wrong but from watching quite a few of Rune's matches over the last 2-3 years I remember him going to the net fairly often. Not saying Becker isn't working with him on that aspect though. I also remember journalists I watch mentioning how solid he was volleying a while back and how he naturally went to the net, contrary to Sinner who used to lack that aspect. But if you have actual data and numbers on it I'd be happy to change my mind.

      @jonas8993@jonas89934 ай бұрын
    • @@davidmonnier6477 Yeah he even went to the net under pressure often like in finals and semis against Novak at Bercy. Though maybe the second match was with Becker but, that didn't change that it was already a habit of his.

    @Stuck_in_Space@Stuck_in_Space4 ай бұрын
    • The way I see it, forehand would have been kind of close to his body, so he would have needed to create more space by taking a back step with his right foot, which would slow him down and give Shevchenko more time. But yeah, interesting choice.
