Yesterday was the 22nd anniversary of 702's self-titled sophomore album!!
That album is fire
I am a thousand years old.
My heart is so broken right now. I’m 702’s number one fan and has been since 1999. I practically played the second album so much that the CD began to skip at track #3(You Don’t Know). The musical legacy will live in forever. Irish was beautiful and talented. She is so missed. May she and Orish Rest in Paradise!

702 is 1 of my favorite groups. They appeared in Aaliyah's "If Your Girl Only Knew" video and they were like the queens of Nickelodeon in the 90s too. My favorite albums of theirs are "No Doubt" & "Star." Star was a beautiful album that deserved the same amount of success as their other efforts. I wanna meet them someday because they were a big part of my childhood and one my musical favorites!! Great video!! 💖

I love 702! I will say though that Kameelah was the correct choice for the lead singer. Not everyone has the vocals for lead singing. That’s not a commentary on the other ladies abilities but it’s just a fact.

The fact that they kept asking the lead singer to come back numerous times says a lot about the lack of talent from the other members
And they weren't willing to change the formula like dividing the parts for the members.

Kameelah was lead for a reason. She definitely had the best voice. Without her voice the songs wouldn't sound the way are and they wouldn't be massive hits.

I am currently watching them (Irish and Misha) on BETs encore show. The insecurities that Misha and Irish are displaying is telling. Both her and Irish are not as vocally strong as the other ladies. I can see how and why Kamelah felt the way she did.

I still don’t understand why they (the label) didn’t shoot a video for I Still Love U. Pharrell was hot at the time. He already did Star. It was heavily played on the radio and cars everywhere were blasting that song but no video or promotion smh. Plus 106 & Park, TRL, DFX etc would’ve gave the video/album more momentum. Smh

Encore is really giving you a first hand look at how the sister's never had the range to be lead singers in 702. Its also sad at the same time because I see alot pain and lack of self confidence in there singing abilities. As well other truma they may have experienced. We must continue to give them flowers though.
That is not true. Misha can sing just as well as Meelah that's what caused the initial rift...she used to be the lead singer before Meelah joined 702. She sang lead on "this little game we play" Judging them on how they are on the show isn't fair they lack the confidence they used to have and haven't been actively singing.

I have no idea! That two of the members in 702 were sisters. I found that out years later. First time every see 702 was in the late 90s. When that came out with the song where my girls at! I was a teenager in middle school then. Love 702 music! Still listen to 702 music today! Love my old school music!
