Russian rock is extremely underrated in non-Russian speaking countries. There are some gems everywhere and this one is a good example.
Luis M In Russia (USSR back then) Tsoi produced the best music by far. He had millions of fans, and almost every Russian in their late 40s to late 50s will recognize this music, and most of the time their children will also know of him. Russian rock or not, this man was a genius and if not for his untimely death, would have surely been heard all over the world.

Viktor Tsoi was a great man. He inspired the young with his band's music across the Soviet Union, and was loved by many. I may have Slavic ancestry but you really don't have to be Slavic at all to enjoy Kino's music, let alone music from the East. Viktor had made mistakes in life like everybody else, and he was never afraid to admit that. He was an honest man who wrote from the heart, despite all that he's been through. Even after his death behind the wheel in 1990, the soul resides in his music, which still lives on to this day. May Viktor Tsoi rest in peace, and may his son Alexander live a happy life. Much love and luck to all - from a man living in America

Well, Joy Division and Talking Heads are respectable here, but they're nowhere near Kino, judging by the influence the latter have had on the population of this country which is still the biggest in the world despite the fact that everyone speaks English everywhere, so it's really important to do your maths and even more so to listen to your heart no matter how cheesy that may sound.

Everytime I listen to Spokoynaya Noch I feel like crying. I don't know why but there's just something in Viktor Tsoi's voice, the guitar and the playing just before the singing starts that makes me melancholic. (Peaceful night), my favorite rock track of all time. There's nothing more beautiful, nothing more melancholic in rock music than that song. I always wonder what Viktor felt when writing that masterpiece. The lyrics, melodies and mixing all sound like loss, emptiness
1988
Well, lots if not most of that melodies were written by bands lead guitarist Yuri Kasparyan.
@@crimsonadder6313 yes this is true but for some reason the band meshed on the song very well, I think Viktor wrote the words and Yuri kinda put them to music perfectly.

The Piano in Zakroy za mnoy dver is such a beautiful addition. Viktor Tsoi was like the Russian Jim Morrison, John Lennon or Ian Curtis. Literally, he was a poet with no boundaries who was taken from us way too soon.
DraculaXHunter101 i've read for this piano part they've hired some guy from conservatory and asked him to play "something like Rakhmaninov". Not sure but i remember they gave him a botle of vodka which was a very strong "currency" in the USSR at that time. That all is still not diminishing the awesomeness of this band.
3 giants of the modern music. Englishmen are really some kind of lubrication of humankind, its impossible to imagine the world without the English language and English modern music.

I love Viktor's poetry, though I speak very little Russian and need to rely on translations by other people. The words are very simple, it's like poetry for everyone. I wish England wasn't so big headed because we miss out on tons of brilliant bands, people, books, movies and loads more just because they're Russian or German or French and so on. It really is a shame and England needs to realise that it's not the only country, it is in fact a tiny island, one sixth the size of France and not the centre of the universe.
Agreed mate and I would say our American cousins are the same. I mean just look at Hollywood at lot of films that are released are based on books from authors from countries such as France, Russia, Poland, Germany etc etc
Most of brits also completelly ignores amazing local bands like The Sound or The Chameleons
The same thing can be said about America. People will refuse to watch or listen to anything if it's in another language. Worst, most people think you're weird if you like something in different language.

england have a lot of big bands, writers and singers too. i prefer David Bowie. But you are not a part of Europe, you exist in you own Universe. England is Singularity,
I discovered this band when i was 12. Im 22 now and still listening.
Even as an American that doesn’t understand any Russian, these songs are so wonderfully melancholic. As late stage capitalism and bourgeois democracy is unwinding and seeming maybe this system doesn’t work either. This vibe is appropriate for the US in the 2020s like the Soviets might have felt in the 1980s…
Totally. I Imagine when this all starts falling apart, there’ll be videos made of it like we make videos of the fall of the soviets.
@@mildly_miffed_man1414 I can only imagine some Chinese dude decades in the future in his virtual reality headset listening to Capitalismwave from the 2030s and thinking “wow, they sound so sad”…
Its a great way to learn. Its a beautifully expressive language...Im trying my best to get it.
russian music in general is just honestly the best
I love their music styles. Especially I love outro guitar solo. I think outro guitar solo gives listeners more emotional. Kino is greater than any Western Europe musicians.
@@Sergo_51 разве?

En México también escuchamos Кино
Gracias a Niko bellic
since i listen Kino for the first time, i listen kino music everyday until now. it s something unnormal for me. even i dont understand russian languege before. but i listen his music everyday. tsoi has huge power and his music is good to listen on cold winter
Greetings from Brazil,love this
Russian is my third language, and my understanding isn't the greatest, but this album isn't just an album by a band. It's an experience.
This is Viktor Tsoi, a Korean-born Soviet rock musician! We are very proud of him! On August 15, 1990, he tragically died in a car! In Belarus, during the summer protests, his song "We Demand Change" sounded everywhere among the protesters!
@@och.neveroyatnoe he was taken out, not to capture the rest of the world and the minds of people
This music is special, because you just know these songs were written with real deep emotions.
I cannot express my love for Kino. It's been a year since i know them. As a Bulgarian teen i do understand some lyrics and i translated most of them, actually started learning Russian because of kino. Im so thankfull.
Thank you for understanding this.❤
Victor Tsoi & Kino is awesome, however I don't understand Russian, I feel the power & his motives in that epoch.
I pass walking by in front of the Hermitage and a couple of guys (guitar and bass) were playing on of this songs. I love his music instantly. Thank you so much for uploading this video whit separated songs/timing. Best regards from Chile. ;)
Yes! 🎉

this is an eternity album. While the earth revolves around the sun, they will listen to this album....
How could I've lived without this for 30 years of my life? These sounds are literally taking to another time.
I am totally obsessed with "Попробуй спеть вместе со мной" (Try to Sing Along)! An epic song! Greetings from China!
Hail from Italy!
When you find a good band just to find out that its frontman died over 30 years ago.
Look up "Molchat Doma", from Belarus. You'll get the same feel from them, + they're still alive.
@@dsnodgrass4843 I know them, I've even been to their concert.
@@TheOriginalWheatLoaf You're lucky. I was due to see them live in May 2020, but the shutdowns got in the way.
I'm addicted to this band...wholly another world...
I'm on a weeks-long Kino binge. So good!
As sad as I am to say I don't understand a single word from this amazing album, it's as if I can feel the soul of Viktor. I can only imagine how much more amazing it is when you can put meaning behind those lyrics.
the lyrics are prophetic, do not belong to Time, those are eternal spiritual laws simply laid out for layman to navigate thru life, search translations to his songs. you will be blown away
this album is about war, and tragic loss. almost a sense of hopelessness. yet it still brings hope and rejuvenation
My grandfather was a Russophile because he liked the organised manner I was which the entire USSR functioned My Dad was a Russophile because he grew up watching Soviet made jets flying from his home (my grandpa was IAF pilot) I’m a Russophile because of Russian music.
I love listening to music from pretty much anywhere in the world. I find it really interesting to understand the different tastes of people in each country. I absolutely love this music seen in Russia. I'm glad I'm not the only english speaker that likes this kind of music.
Wow, I really think Viktor Tsoi would have been an international star if it weren't for his untimely death, and Kino probably would have recorded at least 1 album in English. I barely understand Russian but what I do is deep. And the instrumentals are superb.
There's a variant of "Blood type" in english.
