I’ve got a few generations old tiramisu recipe, and we also grate dark chocolate to sprinkle between each layer, adds that extra texture 😉
Do you mind sharing?
Try whipping the egg whites into a cream instead of using heavy cream next time. That's the traditional way!
My cousin made it with egg whites and we all agreed it was HORRIBLE. Its probably just us but i prefer heavy cream.
Hello .. can I use only the mixer instead using the watEr bath
@@imsobeautiful8528 The traditional italian way is definitely not horrible! It's lighter and fluffier. Nothing against your cousin, but they probably used old eggs or something of the like.
@@glittery8862that’s your opinion. They have theirs. Some ppl don’t like the taste of egg whites or the texture. In the end, it’s just a relatively modern dessert that can be made and enjoyed a lot of different ways.
@@JulStar13 Processed egg white in tiramisu does not taste that egg-y and the difference in texture between a tiramisu made with meringue & heavy cream is negligible - and that is coming from an autistic that is sensitive to texture in food. Obviously personal taste is part of the equation, and there are some differences, but traditional tiramisu definitely doesn't taste horrible objectively. It's doubtful that everyone on that table could both taste and identify the difference, and on top that every single person despises the taste & texture of meringue. It's much more likely that the cousin in question used old, gone-off eggs or fucked up something similar in the recipe.
I personally prefer the egg white version because it's lighter like a mousse and makes use of the leftover seperated egg whites immediately, but this recipe looks pretty good too! I'm gonna put my recipe down in case anyone is curious (it's not authentic but it's made the traditional way. It's a slightly changed version of the Tiramisu recipe from Broma Bakery!): •(preferably pasteurised eggs) seperate 4 eggs into 2 bowls, one for the egg whites and one for the egg yolks. These will be used in a bit. •before making the luscious Mascarpone cream, begin the recipe by mixing cocoa powder and instant Vietnamese coffee, the amount to your liking in 1 and a half cups of hot water. Set aside. •start off with the yolks. Grab an electric mixer and whip the yolks with a pinch of salt and 5 tablespoons of sugar till you've achieved a fluffy and pale mixture. Should take a few mins. •add in 8 ounces (226g) of Mascarpone to the yolks mixture and whip till it's homogenous. Add another 8 ounces of Mascarpone and repeat the mixing process till it's evenly combined. You can toss in a fat drop of vanilla bean paste if you'd like, optional but recommended. •clean the whisk attachment THOROUGHLY (after washing it I'd recommend wiping it down with white vinegar to erase traces of fat from the egg yolk Mascarpone mixture) •now you can whip up a meringue. Add a pinch of salt and 100g sugar to the whites. Mix it till it's dissolved and whip on medium speed till you've achieved a thick asf meringue. Usually takes 8 minutes for perfect meringue with stiff peaks. •CAREFULLY fold a third of the egg yolk Mascarpone mixture into the meringue, making sure to fold it gently to avoid knocking out too much air. Repeat till the yolks Mascarpone mixture is finished. You will be left with a STUNNING Mascarpone cream. Now you're ready for Tiramisu assembly! •grab a tin/tray, dip a savoiardi (lady finger) one at a time in the chocolatey Vietnamese coffee (dunk quickly and immediately place into the tin/tray) do this till you've covered the whole bottom with coffee soaked lady fingers. •plop on the Mascarpone cream and spread it out evenly. •repeat till your Mascarpone cream is finished. •dust the top with cocoa powder and refrigerate for 6 hours. •after it's chilled, you can enjoy!

As italian I say NO whipped or heavy cream on true tiramisù recipe!
SAY IT LOUDER FOR EVERYONE IN THE BACK 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I stand by this statement as a non-italian. It's not that the whipped cream version is necessarily gross, it's just SOOO dense and (imo) quite sickly because it's very whipped cream forward. The richness of Mascarpone is enough richness because a Tiramisu SHOULD ALWAYS be light and airy like a cloud, not dense and overwhelming like whipped cream (I personally put a thin layer of dark chocolate ganache in between the layers for extra indulgence)
@@mahdireza5695Do you mind sharing how you would make it then? I’m learning it now, but I definitely want to stick to the traditional recipe as much as possible!
@@rowanhassan2564I make my Italian all traditionally, so I’ll just tell you how: Whisk pasteurized egg yolks, sugar, and mascarpone cheese together, then whipped the pasteurized egg whites to get a very thick consistency so that when you flip it upside down, it won’t fall. Then slowly mix that together. Rinse lady fingers in the espresso, then make the first layer with that, then put enough of the cream on top of it to cover the entire layer, and repeat this process one more time. Then, dust it with cocoa powder on top and leave it in the fridge with a minimum of 2 hours, though leaving it overnight would be best. There you have it, Tiramisù!
To save on cocoa powder I'd recommend saving the dusting for the final step on top it is your garnish and flavoring so no need to go nuts on it so you save money cause tiramisu ingredients are costly nowadays ☺️
Why not? I like to go nuts
It's freaking cocoa powder not 24ct gold dust! Are people seriously this poor or just cheap? I'm having a hard time believing people can't afford food or rather eating well. Junk food is actually expensive. Most people especially here in the US don't know what good food is anyway or how to cook. They see perfectly curated food videos, and literally comment that the person must be rich. Gtfoh.
@@ParadoxicaLeo730 People will really drop 200 dollars on oreos, doritos, frozen pizzas, and tyson chicken at a grocery store and then complain that they're broke and fat.
Dusting of cocoa powder doesn’t cost that much

Pro tip is whip the cream and the marscapone together so you don’t lose the volume of air, also put the egg whites and some sugar in a bowl and whip together for 8 mins and fold in Use the coffee instead make into a syrup and reduce to a little past half until syrupy , cool down and fold into cream mix to get a really strong coffee flavpur Use instant coffee and kahlua or no alcohol is you want alcohol free
How simple and how delicious?!❤
How did I search up the music piece, Ladyfingers, and get here 💀

What did you do with the egg whites?
My pastry chef would of cringed at how he mixed in that mascarpone.
Do you have to use eggs in the cream? Does it not make the cream taste weird and have a weird texture

Yah I do same like you my cheese cake teramisu...but I use the lotus chocolate biscuits whipping cream and cream cheese the Keri cheese and the swedish chocolate and deep the biscuits on the evaporated milk but the chocolate powder I use the grated chocolate not the cocoa powder ❤❤

Woah 😍
Fail, Tiramisu is not supposed to have any cream in it, putting the cream is in it the equivalent like putting cream in a Carbonara
it taste amazing tho made alot of them with both versions.... as long its tasty its good. and cream cant never go wrong lets be real
@@z3ro7otrue, but a classic and perfect Tiramisu will always be the eggs version. The Mascarpone is meant to be all the creamy dreaminess you need. The eggs create an airy cloudy mousse-like texture which makes it easier to eat, unlike the whipped cream version which is always SO DENSE and honestly quite sickly because it's so whipped cream forward. It's not horrible by any means, the authentic eggs version is just better.

Thanks
U don’t put cocoa in the middle. Sponge fingers, cream, sponge fingers, cream, cocoa. Also, no whipped cream, it’s just eggs, mascarpone, & sugar.
Is the coco powder sweet?

The only mistake you made was adding the cocoa powder too soon, i can see that the Tiramisu is a bit dry. For better results only add the cocoa powder when ready to eat

Don't dust with cocoa powder before refrigeration as this will make the cocoa extremely bitter. Only do one layer of cocoa powder just before serving.
