Dropped GoPro Down Cave: Can't Believe What I See!

2018 ж. 28 Мам.

This is my second trip to a brand new cave that I discovered recently. I brought several GoPro's along and drooped then down a deep shaft in the solid limestone to video what lies underground. It's a beautify cave!!! I can hear running water in the video and see many amazing and beautiful cave formations never before seen by man or any beast that lived to tell about it. Soon I will return to excavate the deep skinny shaft to the spacious rooms below and we shall have a most excellent adventure! FAMILY FRIENDLY as always!

  • Wow... As a former caver, I can state that the cave is a gem! Stalagmites, stalactites and flowstone in one location. I live near Mammoth Cave and have caved all around the area, including parts of Mammoth Cave, and you made a great find!

He hopped down a couple feet into an open fault, left that area and put a camera down a hole. What’s dangerous about that? More people should have a curiosity to explore for themselves instead of only watching others do so. Watching others explore is cool and all, I enjoy it too, but you don’t get that amazing sense of adventure and purpose by just watching others. I highly recommend you try it sometime. Life has the potential to be very fulfilling if you get out and live it.

A caver in the NSS wouldn’t destroy the cave because things like that take thousands to millions of years to form. Once they are destroyed they are gone forever.

  • Thanks for sharing!!! Big caves are fun to explore, but when I can go inside I stop thinking of it like I'm inside the Earth's crust. These small spaces are a reminder that the ground is riddled with fractures and little eroded pockets, not just a solid mass of stone and clay, as it seems from above.

  • When I was a kid, my parents have a home on the Big Island of Hawaii...my dad had a friend who was doing a National Geographic story...he brought my dad and I up into the vast lava hills that pretty much run the length of the island. Unless you knew EXACTLY how to find it you'd NEVER find this secret ancient Hawaiian burial cave. We hiked up and over an ocean of lava and came upon this opening in the ground, well hidden. We crawled in and I was in shock when I saw what was in there!! I was about 9 or 10 and I'm standing in this lava tube full FULL!!! Of skeletons!! Old Koa wood canoes....artifacts everywhere. There were thousands of skeletons!!! Talk about leaving a huge impression on a little kid!!! I feel privileged because I'm sure only a handful of people have ever seen something like that.
