  • Really appreciate your upfront attention to the type of truck one would need to safely carry this unit. So many reviewers give short shrift to this critical issue.

  • Nice little overview but you missed out on the 810ah of battleborn lithium batteries that go with the 930 watts of solar as well as dc-dc charging and a nice victron inverter system to power the whole unit without being connected to grid power. The windows are also the ones with the dual screens or sunblockers in them. They truly made this to be offgrid for exteneded periods. Still waiting to see one in person to see how id fit in the shower stall.

  • This floor plan is almost identical to my 1974 Sunline 9.5 , except for the long cab overhang. My camper comes in at 1800 lbs. this comes in at 4400 lbs! Mine has a wet bath but more room to take a shower than this one. Plus I have more room in my dinette. A bed for 1 adult or 2 kids also folds down over the dinette. My water and sewage tanks are not as large. But I also pull a 19’ motor boat, with an old 70’s Chevy truck. The RV manufacturers have gone the way of the Big 3. Make stuff so expensive that the working man can’t afford it. Campers didn’t require an expensive truck. The farm truck would do. My boat, camper and truck cost under $7,000 back in the 70’s. Camper, over 40 years old, never leaked, all appliances still work.

  • Ours is on it's way. Went to Western Skies RV in Reno, a certified dealer. They said the first 31 are being built, and it was not known when another batch would be built. So we put our deposit down. We're new to the truck camper world, so I appreciate all the information I can get, and we'll share information as we go. My wife loved the idea of a dry bath and no slide outs. I love that it's built by Amish. We're having an F450 built for it. Looking forward to JD talking more about the F450 on some videos. We'll be full time living in it for a few years. After I retired from Lowe's, Kelly learned she could retire from teaching sooner than she thought, so we're months away from hitting the road.

    • You will love it. We went up to sugar creek a few weeks ago and saw them building one at the plant. The only thing I don't like about them is that rubber roof and the fact that everything is electric. No boondocking unless you run a generator all the time. That rear step porch combo is amazing. If I were you I would consider adding a set of air bags to our f-450. It will ride a lot better with them.

    • @@boondockingamerica So far, we love it. We took it down to Arizona, and we slept very well in it for 4 nights. The F350 dually. 6.7 didn't care about the weight, even on steep inclines. We're still learning how to function with the solar. We'll get a lot more experience when we go full time. We can always get a generator if we need it.

  • I have a 620 and the Alde system pulls the air in from the vents located lower bottom of the cabinets near the floor(not on the floor) and the heat exists from the vents that runs along the sidewalls of the TC. On the 920, I don’t believe you would be able to use the “pass through window for backing up, the entry door window doesn’t line up and is too small… the TC does come with a backup camera👍🏽👍🏽

  • I've owned 4 truck campers over the years, among the many RV's owned. The last one was a new 2010 Lance 1040 side door entry w/a rear fold out tent queen bunk. Wet bath and cabinetry was a little weak, but pretty nice, very roomy interior. Same Euro windows and side awning as the 920, Onan gen set however price point was just shy of 40k in todays dollars, half the list price of the 920. That being said the 920 appears to be worth the money, very impressive specs. The Lance rode on a Super Cab F-350 Ford Dually. The wireless jack control was probably my favorite option on the camper.

I had one tell me my 1 ton short bed could tow a 3 axel 20000 gvrw toy hauler bo problem. At least I knew better. Most people don't even know it's a lie.

  • It’s a beautiful camper, and no question it’s very expensive! When I was growing up, at least in California, truck bed campers were extremely popular. You’d see them on the road all the time and sitting in driveways. Nowadays, it’s extremely rare to see one. The problem is the cost, the type of truck required to properly handle the weight, you lose the use of your truck bed, and you really shouldn’t tow anything, except maybe a small, lightweight, open aluminum lake fishing boat. I could live in this camper full-time quite easily, and be very comfortable. There are a few couples that live in them full-time, but I wouldn’t try it. It has everything you need, and if you keep it mounted on the truck, it’s a heck of a lot easier to leave your site to dump the tanks and fill up with water and propane. You can also leave it at your campsite so you can explore the areas. The size of the tanks are another downside, but you could probably go a week without needing to dump your tanks, especially with one person. These are really made to fit a niche market, but I’ve always liked them.

  • If you’re thinking about a camper like this be sure to price out the cost of camper tie downs. It not as simple as sliding it in to the bed of your truck. If you haven’t owned a truck bed camper you’ll be shocked at the $ just to get rolling down the road. You’ll need helper springs or airbags even my F450 needed airbags to keep from bottoming out. The idea of them is better than actually owning it.

  • I know of one "½ ton pickup truck" that could easily handle that camper: my old 1982 RAM D150. Full disclosure: I had that truck specifically modified to be able to tow 40 ft. flatbeds with several times that weight on it, for parades. There's probably not even a 5th wheel it couldn't tow. 😋 The only problem is that once I'd finished upgrading it to tow flatbeds, it was nigh-undrivable without a load. That's why I sold it. It was like sitting on a concrete bench, when you used it as a daily driver. Hard on the ass... and annoying as 🤬! Aside from my old Franken-½-ton-stein, you're 100% correct, JD! The only thing that anyone should consider towing this with is a dually F-550, or 5500 RAM/Chevy. An F-350 or 3500 RAM/Chevy would cave! That Cirrus is not a bad camper, but if I was looking at something in that class, I would consider the HOST Mammoth first. It has slides, which kind of outclasses this one. There are a couple of others too. If you really want _"Huge Inside"_ with a pickup truck camper, there are some that really raise your eyebrows. Nevertheless, this Cirrus is still respectable. The dual pane Euro style windows are awesome; and that solar package is incredible!

  • So you mean that isn't half-ton compatible? Not even with the extra payload package and airbags? ;)

  • Without a doubt, the most beautiful interior I’ve seen. Stunning. Too bad it’s so dang heavy. Having to buy a dually, which really limits your usability, isn’t worth it.

  • I wish that I had a big ass truck for this. But what is a 300,000 dollar Class B used for, instead of Class A/C?

  • Definitely for a 1 ton dually gas truck. A diesel would be over weight.

  • The lack of a slide wouldn't bother me. Some campers are very poorly designed when there is a slide. The worst one had THREE. And it was impossible to get into the camper unless all the slides were out. I can't imagine the weight on a triple slide camper, LOL. If I get a pickup, I'll get a Cirrus and save myself the hassle.

  • I wouldnt put that on my Ram 3500 cummins dually without fear of overloading.

  • Very nice, but it is too heavy even for my F350 dually. This unit is 1500 lbs than my 2000 11.5 slide-in camper.
