    @Solaric_@Solaric_8 ай бұрын
    • It wasn't always free. A lot of the time the pizzas are ordered and the streamer gets told something "10 large pizzas that will be X total" by the driver. On top of that they're expected to tip the driver as well. It usually hurt the pizza company as they would have 10 pizzas or whatever worth of product that they'd paid money for that wasn't sold because some idiot decided to play a "prank".

    • Unless you're calling from a landline, 911 does not have your exact location. they can maybe ping your location to the closest cell tower in the moment. But it is not currently possible to trace the call to an exact location/caller within the 30 seconds to 10 minutes a 911 call usually lasts. All they know is that someone could possibly be losing their life _right now_ and so they act accordingly. The risk of not believing the caller is that someone could die. It's unfortunate that for situations like this, the risk of _believing_ the caller is _also_ that someone might die.

When you have people with guns that DO NOT CARE if you live or die and are ready to fire, it is an actual nightmare for people who don't react the most logically to situations. Hearing QT talk about her PTSD from the situation teared me up just because I know from just getting pulled over that if I were to have a meltdown, I'd be dead and everyone would see it as my fault for not reacting correctly to an intensely stressful and hostile situation. • "1, 2, 3, 4, 5. I just got through the past 5 seconds." was surprisingly powerful and moving. Honestly, I never really thought of life like that, but when you're in a super dark place, when holding on to something or celebrating those tiny seemingly unimpressive little achievements is all you can do in that specific moment, that is enough and you *should* celebrate them because you fucking got through them. Now go and give yourself another tiny achievement to absolutely rock and eventually you'll be able to expand those into bigger and bigger goals. I will definitely be taking this mantra with me from now on. ❤️

They're risking their lives with a call like that and also have to be mentally sharp enough not to harm anyone innocent. If a call like that turns out to be a prank, they're still fired up and full of adrenaline. They go in there fully ready to kill another human being and are asked to help look for a cat. So yeah I wish they'd reacted differently, but don't blame them for what happened.

Often times it's a really peaceful thought. Like I have been fully prepared to die before and I was so at peace and relaxed and comfortable. It's not an uncommon response to death or near death experience but maybe it's less common in terms of suicide? When the brain knows it's gonna die it floods with chemicals, basically you trip out on feel good happy chemicals, it's your brains way of protecting you from fear and pain. I can experience that sometimes by tricking my brain to think we are gonna die.

  • I definitely feel for QTCinderella when she said "cuz girls are an accessory". This is more or less how Marzia felt, according to her own words she lost her identity as herself because people mainly treated her as Pewdiepie's girlfriend (now wife) and not as Marzia. Can you imagine what it must feel like being treated as if you dont exist outside of the context of another person? It's insane that women are more likely to be treated this way. Marzia is just one of many examples and I'm sorry to mention specifically her but unfortunately she's the biggest example of being mistreated by other people this way. I know so many similar examples of women treated this way. It's sad that it comes down to this gendered topic, I wish these kinds of things didnt happen regardless of gender.

I felt profound sadness about this just from looking at a photo of women many years ago, on a wall in a curling club. All those women were posing for the photo, and underneath the photo I could read their names, but it was all "Mrs." + Husband's Name. These women are just remembered as the wife of a man who completely overshadows them, taking their names away, even though their photo is on a wall for me to see, decades and decades later.

I honestly truly think that unwarranted swatting like that should get jail time, because not only are you wasting police time and resources that could go to actually helping someone who's in genuine danger, you are also deliberately putting innocent people's lives at risk and causing trauma. And clearly that caller KNEW that, since they said "I'm gonna come out and shoot." They WANTED someone to get hurt. I understand that anyone somewhat well-known is bound to have haters, but to hate someone you've never even met so much that you will go to such lengths to put them in harm's way is just mindboggling to me.
