I just want to point out, whenever Cliffe pauses the video, the screen shows “eating Pokémon How Nintendo intended it” I’m thoroughly disappointed with the lack of a tutorial on how to eat Pokémon in this video

Wait... you didn't know Pidgeot was Normal type? It's more or less tradition by this point that all the bird Pokemon you can catch early in the various games, like Pidgey, Taillow and Starly, are Normal/Flying.
he’s a tcg player, where all those birds are just seen as flying
@@wozaow Flying isn't even in the TCG to begin with, it got combined with Normal to make the Colorless type. There's a niche fanterm to call Colorless that are weak to Lightning "Bird type" but that's not commonly used or even consistent with all of the Colorless bird Pokemon.
For the drink TMs: Each different drink you give the girl gives you a different TM. In the originals, these were Ice Beam and a couple others I forget. In the remakes they replaced them with Light Screen, Reflect, and another status move, since I guess they thought they were too powerful to give out at this point.
Man, that Gameboy opening on the handheld is actual nostalgia. I miss opening up my Gameboy and getting that Gameboy intro, and then the pokemon fire red music starting up like some orchestra playing. I miss those days so much.

did you know: there are like, two pokemon that are pure flying type. 99% of pokemon birds, if they don't have another dualtype like skarmory or hawlucha, are normal/flying dualtype. it drives me absolutely crazy
Technically there are 3: tornadus, rookidee, and corvisquire. 4 if you count Arceus with a sky plate. But yeah it's ridiculous
@@patbilek692 And since Arceus was an exclusive event that probably not many did back in the day, that means it took until Gen 5 to get one.. and it was a legendary... so it wasn't even easily gotten so pretty much Gen 8 is when we got Rookidee to be a commonly found pure type... which is insane that it took 8 gens for them to be like "maybe we should make this actually usable in normal play"
It helps them more than it hurts them though. STAB normal is great to have.

The guide says Fire and Rock are super effective against poison. Well, it was partially right. Fire is super effective against grass/poison types like Bulbasaur or Oddish.
Rock resists poison so I guess it was just.. assuming.. like I did as a kid, that anything that resists would be super effective when you attack
@@BaconNuke Either that, or they are basing it off of Geodude or Onix being part ground-type. You're probably more right than I am. Either they thought the same as any new player or they forgot that Levitate exists from gen 3 onward.
@@BaconNuke They could just be referring to using a resisted type instead of exploiting a weakness, which is honestly pretty solid advice.

Electric types are good against rhyhorn in this guidebook since they use the "Aim for the horn" technique.
This man actually say “the Crobat one” when he was confused about about kogas gym and there is no crobats in this region.
It actually has a Crobat, but in Gold/Silver/ Crystal (and HG/SS as well)

I actually bought the guide books to ORAS (didn’t have internet at the time #poor) and man did it help me get through the game a lot. Wish I still have my gold and silver one from when I was a kid.

On the topic of giving up on games, pokemon black was my first game and I never knew you could use potions or revives out of battle and I had level 100 pokemon and gave up because I tried the elite four like 50ish times and couldn't beat the champion lol

I dont know why but I am just remembering this game called fossil fighters that I played life when I was like 8 that had this one point where the equivalent of that games team rocket locks you in a pyramid and you have to dig the exact right spot to get out. I tried VERY HARD to catch that Marrowak. I went so far as to getting a Masterball and using it on it. Not even a Masterball can catch it.

The reason for the berry locations was because you couldn't replant them in gen 3, you could only get them from having a Meowth with pickup and its only a 10% chance for a berry, and Meowth is the only Pokémon in FireRed and LeafGreen with that ability, using the move Thief on wild Pokémon you know carries a berry, and the dark spots in Berry Forest. And if you have the ability you can also trade berries attached to Pokémon from Ruby, Sapphire, or Emerald
If you were fortunate enough to have the link cables and a couple friends, you could also play Dodrio Berry Picking on two island and be rewarded with berries. (Only the pokeblock ones though, I think)

At 6:01, I’m pretty sure that was a mistake by the writer.. Probably meant to say “you can visit nearby the Gym” not “you can visit the nearby gym”. The event being the museum, which costs $50 to enter, if memory serves.
Or "you could visit the nearby museum"...
In Pewter the 50 dollars if I remember correctly is the entry fee for the museum the same one with the second building you need cut to access where you get old amber.
In Sabrina's gym puzzle you just go to the right then when teleported at a right side rather than left you will just go down all the way 'til you got to her room.
