Not having teamkill during the prep phase is such a good change, and I didn’t realize how much it helps with siege in general. And I think giving the game a tdm mode was a good thing to give those who enjoyed it
All of the tox-prevention measures they've added have been very good for the community. Removing [the pointless] level visibility, affording privacy nicknames, no FF in prep phase, and the reputation measures have all been great mitigations against bad behavior, and hopefully it continues to improve.

tdm mode needs some things like enemies dropping ammo since the only way to get more ammo is to die or health pickups around some maps I'm dumb cuz I forgor we have infinite ammo lol

Another big problem which still needs to be addressed is the matchmaking system which was so called based on players mmr. It’s just tiring when getting randomly qued up plat or above players and get absolutely dunked on even on unranked and casual or even arcade at extremes.
Stop looking at trackers.
@@BikiniBodhi nothing to do with trackers, it's just tiring to face people who are obviously above your skill level and demolish you. happens way too often to me, to the point where I just wanna quit again, and I know I'm not the only one. I'm also not a fan of using Trackers during the game, but they have nothing to do with Siege's terrible matchmaking.
@@omegacxv8344I have to agree with you on this. I play with a 5-stack and I'd say we're all about the same level in terms of skill. One match we're up against a team that has a noticeably higher skill level than us and we get totally destroyed. The next match we're up against what seems like bots or something. Nobody on our team is using trackers, but I think you can really notice the skill difference from match to match..
You can actually tell whether players are better or worse than you without checking tracker imo, but I agreed tracker will destroy your in game mindset, so I only check it when I finished the game It's frustrating that enemy team is far more better than you, and your team cannot even reinforce a single wall

I deleted my tracker and put myself into streamer mode so I wouldn’t psyche myself out by looking up stats and the game has been more fun
I think new content creators such as Jynxzi or Athenio etc,.. that make the game more exciting for players
I def think it has helped with promoting the game itself, but the game still has to have improved for that to happen.

I just hope that ubisoft will tone down the TDM meta a bit. Sure let people play how they want but run and gun is just waaaayyy too rewarding these days... Why having all those unique gadgets and side set up possibilities when run and gun is much easier to do and waaaayyy too often pays out... I mean they could for example buff barb wire (higher slow down effect and 3 hits to destroy) and take away the 1,5x on every defender that's not a 1 speed or needs it. Gadget simulator wasn't fun for many but TDM meta isn't fun for many either...why not try to finally find the middle ground
Agreed. I think only one speed ops should have the 1.5. Since most 1 speeds are anchor characters this could get rid of the tdm meta while also getting people to play “correctly”. I know there isn’t a correct way to play but still. This ain’t COD.
last season i played over 300 matches with a low elo friend, at the end i soloQ to emerald with 14 wins and 1 loss this season iw had 3 ppl ask if i was boosted since i lost first 11 matches (complete team diff AND i took over a month off after last season so i was rusty af) so yeah, trackers can make ppl wack
When this video came out I didn't play and now I've started playing again as soon as mouse trap came out
the way i handle toxic chat is simple. I have disabled the opposing teams capability to chat me and vice versa. So i only need to deal with my teammates and that point which if they ever are toxic i can mute and remove their chat capability with me

I’ve been enjoying Siege with friends at the moment. Me and the boys returned to it after about a year of Overwatch, and Siege feels better than ever. I agree with Kini saying the cheater problem is better than it was a year ago. 😊
I love the way you say that the TDM Meta just isn't how Siege is meant to be played. I feel like so many content creators have kinda embraced that new meta and just jumped on it. Siege is a tactical shooter, and the strategy has always been part of the whole fun (Making, applying, etc.) Take that away and Siege is just another generic shooter with a few extra steps. So yeah, Glad you're on that side of the issue. Doesn't feel like this is gonna change anytime soon, unfortunately.

Seeing content creators and important members of the community stand on the same side of the problem makes me feel better. Siege just isn't Siege anymore.

Imo they should have a separate part of the team dedicated to the Lab test server. So we can have those wacky and crazy experiments. If it is positively received then it could be open to the possibility to getting worked on more and put into the live game.
I don't want to be a huge naysayer, and I think the game has shown some improvement, but the Thorn change is really still giving me a bad feeling. The fact that they gave her the 1.5x "out of nowhere" when we all knew it was because of the elite, and then weeks later releasing her elite just screams that the "balancing" change was purely for monetary reasons. And it's what I've said since the beginning of the decline, I don't think the devs are doing a bad job per se. I think Ubisoft the company is forcing them to turn Siege into money printer, and that's a much bigger problem. But I am holding out hope that we can get through the greed bump and get back to what Siege was back in the day.
It's been a fun season, I'm further along in the BP than I ever have been at this point. I hit 94 last night and usually I'm grinding in the last week to get it finished.

Quickmatch 2.0 should be putting people in matches with people who have similiar amounts of quickmatches played and finally allow to see stats in game, for example the amount of matches played
This will still make people use smurfs but for that maybe just allow people to start playing quickmatches from lvl 25 and onwards or sum idk smh hard

I feel like for crim they should add a laser that he can see through a scope put in his hive launcher and add a mode to it that allows him to either have instant impact deploy or a mode where the hive can bounce off of something then deploy so that way he can shoot it at an angle off a door and it will bounce and then deploy or even allow swapping the launcher to either one of his shoulders to allow for better angles without exposing himself when he wants to launch his hives cause he need something or it's gonna be a grim life for life
Curious question about the balance thing. Since the community will always gravitate towards a run and gun operator for EZ setup and run around (if youte lucky and they DO set up), how do you address the fragging issue in the game to where that wont be the case? How do you not create or push an operator to be the defacto click heads op on attack or defense?
Ubisofts next step is the reputation system. The community’s toxicity needs to be knocked down a peg and sadly the rewards of being a nice players seems like the only way to ensure it

I noticed siege was dying when fail videos started to decline a few years ago. We still get them but not as often.
The video you posted mid-last year was kind of the reason why I have been debating whether or not I should be coming back into the game, PC or Console, or not at all really. The changes are very complicated, yet super impactful with the whole game’s development, which I enjoy taking a look at if it does change for the better. I do not want the bad, but everything turns out to not be perfect at all. At the current moment, I find the game to be at a much better rate as far as I played before? But it still feels kind of a meh to me. I don’t know. I feel very iffy, yet okay with the game. Maybe if things feel better and I feel better(?), ill go back into the game.
There should be an in-game wall where people could vote on ideas that ubisoft has in mind
One visible metric for toxicity prevention is that since reputation levels have become a thing (and I assume no friendly fire in prep phase), I barely get TK'd for using the rainbow card background, when back then it was getting frustrating getting prevented from playing almost whole games multiple times a session. Verbal toxicity is still bad, but you can just mute them and go about your round, not with a "friendly" bullet through your skull
a simple way to encourage people to play the test server is to make the renown and alpha packs gained in the TTS PVP modes get doubled and given to you on the live servers once the TTS is shutdown. could also add a penalty that removes this bonus if you get kicked for being AFK/reported for griefing too much in the TTS as well.
The reputation system right now is so pointless because there is no point having exemplary as it does absolutely nothing just like every other rep that isn’t the lowest rep. Ubisoft gotta do something to make getting good rep worth it.

New Seasons release quarterly, and it's bonkers to me that they don't have set release dates published months in advance, if not for the entire year.
Honestly I wasnt too hooked on siege since its a fps and i was more of an rpg guy. But my friends pushed me to play so I played. And then its youtubers like you, morley, tux, custard, yumi, roy, coconut, evan, cob etc yall made it seem fun like it doesn't have to be serious and I started to dip my toes into the water. THEN THE LORE INTENSIFIED and I've been here for about 4 years now cuz the characters are so unique, the lore is insane with the connection between certain ops. I just kinda got sucked into the rabbit hole.

I stopped playing Siege a few years ago for whatever reasons, and I've recently come back and the game is pretty fun. The thing I despise more than anything is that most of the map reworks just don't feel ANY better to me, and Consulate feels fucking awful. I don't know if that's a common opinion, but it's one that my group of friends who all play it hold.
Id love to play quick match and just relax and screw around, but i run into more seats in quick match than i do in ranked

yeah back then first time playing siege and noticing how balance team work is really really bad compare to other games, whille to counter overpick other games usually try to buff the hell out the other character that underpick while in siege the really really prefer to nerf the overpick one, while the overpower one is just left out. and shit this still same until now, heck even the latest patch wth is even that

I reckon in terms of balancing ubi needs to step away from using different sights as a way to increase / decrease an operator's pickrate. Warden is only picked a lot because of his 1.5 and Thorn should have gotten an ability buff rather than a 1.5. Also it's often confusing when an operator can use all the scopes on their gun when another operator with the same gun can't (eg Thatcher and Flores, Iq and Amaru, Mute and Wamai).
That’s why they need to add more new guns.

"The game is very run and gun" Thank God, someone has finally said that. And i know that shooting the enemies down is a fundamental thing, but when strategy doesn't matter cause win is determined by having better aim and reaction time, then it' utterly bullshit.
My biggest issue is how long they take to balance operators and how do they even decide to rework frost when she isn’t even need a change. Solis is a problem fenrir is a problem azami is op warden and thorn is like yeah let’s be lazy and just give them the 1.5 without trying to change there gadget. And Blackbeard I’m not even gonna start about his case. For the rest I’m having a blast with the game but I have the feeling they don’t listen to the people.

I’ll just say my biggest issue and it ties in with what Shroud said, it’s not casual enough for players. I like to play a lot of games, like I’ve played siege since release but for me to maybe take a two - four month break and come back and try to get back into it is hard when everyone is tryharding in casual with strats and flames when you don’t know every single thing on a new map or in the meta. So improving it so it would be easier to get back into the game for casual players would be nice and also get even less toxic whilst it’s better now I still find it very very toxic

I started playing siege back when vigil and dokkaebi were first added. I played every season up until goyo and amari were added. After a while it seemed Ubisoft wanted to gear siege into being nothing but a competitive shooter, they started killing and removing all the casual fun from the game imo. The house rework was fine. But dear god the Hereford rework. They were maps you were always going to have a good time on even if they were imbalanced. They started trying to turn every map into tower which was the community’s least favorite map lmao. Not to mention them fully admitted they don’t understand their own game and literally balance it randomly off of statistics leading to terrible balance changes. where the community would mostly play the most fun and balanced operators (lots played the op ones, I remember ela) resulting in them nerfing operators with nothing wrong with them just because they were popular and had a high win rate. Leading to so many operators being underwhelm with a few being too good. Anyways I stopped following siege after that and I’m curious to hear your guys opinions on it now.

This doesn't really the game but i thought of something that would be cool in my opinion: what if each map had something completely different from the others and that only map has that? Like the stadium with bulletproof glass walls. This would mean a lot of new strategies based off the single maps more than how it is right now

It’s nice to have other type of modes to play but I haven’t seen anyone reinforce a single wall for 10 ranked games in a row. It’s my fault for solo-cuing but the game has switched priorities.
