@@Niophoria your current Mac has nothing to do with the size of the installer, but if it’s an older Mac it may not be compatible. If you’re low on space it’s wise to free up some space before the install, you’ll need a few more GB free for the install to be successful.

@@timlucier I'm pretty sure they removed it on big sur but I could be wrong! Ever since they brought the updated widgets to the notifications slider it hasn't been there.

I have no idea why it took this long to bring Airplay to Max. I’ve been using a 3rd party software just to do airplay my phone’s video to my Mac

Upgrading to this from Catalina. Big sur was so buggy in general especially for multiple monitors, was better off staying at Catalina. But Monterey looks promising.

Maybe upgrade your SSD if its a M2 NVME drive you have in the computer. Offers more space and will more likely run a newer OS far better than the regular OWC drive preinstalled.

Literally the most obvious upgrade to do ever for Mac. It’s actually getting crazy how much better Apple products are becoming over windows/android just simply based off the back of the walled garden and so much utilities being brought to them when you have Apple products

thought i would add this since this is a personal experience, some of the 16in intel macbook pros had an issue with kernel panic from using display port based thunderbolt docks(mine was affected) this seems to be resolved since the new os update in my case.
I have Monterey on my 2012 Mac mini,and it’s working really well

At last I can update to monterey after installation failed due to slow connection. It feels more snappy especially for software development!

In some full screen windowed applications, I am seeing the orange dot (as you show at 4:17) for the microphone in the upper-right corner and I need to switch to another app (or switch to another desktop space) and back to get rid of it. Not that big of a deal but an annoyance. Is there any way to prevent the dot from showing in these applications?
Mainly I like the quick notes feature. Everything else I could pretty much do without. The privacy features are nice.

screen saver dont work for pictures so I did call apple store about that and they knows there some bugs to be fixed as well as some other bugs to be fixed too for another update so as they told me it will take few days later to have new updates so I was told by them to wait for it and I said sure fine no problem and I will wait for it thats because I want to make sure everything has to work just right thats why

Monterey is fine except for when my screen freezes when streaming videos. Never happened until I downloaded the updated. Didnt even participate in the Betas. Might go back to big sur if its not fixed and fixed soon!

Hi Brandon! I have this problem with MacOS Monterey. After updating last night, for some reason I can't share my screen in my Ipad pro 2018 11" via airplay in zoom. As a Uni lecturer, what I do is that when I do my share screen in zoom, I choose the share screen via airplay and use my ipad. This morning minutes before my first class, I tried using the airplay but it just says "Unable to connect to my macbook". I tried it several times and I still can't fix it. I tried share screen via cable and still can't share my ipad screen. Do you know if this is a problem in MacOS Monterey since they now have settings in Airplay or does zoom need to update their app? Thanks and any help is appreciated! I was so embarrassed while doing my lecture in one class :(

Quick question. I haven't updated to os Monterry, I still am on Catalina, I believe. I have been reluctant to updating due to the bad reviews for Sur. However, I am noticing that the Passwords option on my Mac has disappeared (as it appear on your video 0:56 on System Preferences between the Internet accounts and wallet and Apple Pay option). Could this be because I haven't updated, or what could be the cause? It was once there and now it has disappeared. Help please?

Do you have new accent colors? I want the same purple you have, it looks so good! It looks darker than the purple you can choose in settings.
The M1 iMacs have exclusive accent colors that correspond to the actual color of the iMac. Maybe there is some way to enable this in other Macs but IDK

My mac is 2020 model intel core and your answer is yes you do get the same colour so just go for the update
@@meezanahmed7144 I have updated, lol. The purple color on intel macs are lighter and not as cold as the one in his video, so I think like the person said above that the M1 macs have some more accent colors.

Thinking about buying a M1 MacBook Air. Is 256 Gb good with this? I have a beast pc, so Mac will just be used for coding Xcode and schoolwork from time to time. Mayb some apps, who knows.

How to remove the Shortcuts icon in the menubar? It's always there when I run a shortcut but I don't like that. And then another question. When you go in to fullscreen while something is using your microphone, it will still show the orange dot at the top right corner. Is it possible to turn this off? It's really annoying, especially when playing a game because it's makes the game lag for some reason...

I just like that Apple is getting the point that customers like choices. It seems like they are supporting us being able to choose different features more than they use to. Its a good direction, and a common issue from Windows/Linux users. (I use all three)

Weird bug on my mid 2015 MBP. When using the compact tab bar in safari it defaults to dark mode even though I have my system settings to auto. Fine if it's at night when it's dark mode anyway but during the day it's not so cool
