This is so true. Apart from crew and captain there are others too who are not getting well paid according to the work and everything. Specially if you’re working in a low cost carrier you have to ensure that your flight which is turn around flight departs on time. Pressure from cabin crew to the ground crew which is very very hectic and if you fail to do so you then have to give explanation to the company about what went wrong as to why the flight allocated to you went delay. Endless flights. Apart from this you’re tired af that you don’t have time for yourself and time for your family.

I believe hospitality job is the most hardworking job in the entire world be it a nursing job in a private or government hospital (which is also my profession) or cabin crew or someone working in hotels, they all work like anything even after studying but are paid so low that you just hate the Job.

Merchant navy is also a whole different scenario i myself was a third officer left it for a corporate job life is much better in corporate salary wise you will catch up in 3-5 yrs if you work in top corporates , i had invested 10-15 lakhs dor merchant navy and for reaching captain rank minimum you have to put in 10 yrs

galat aaj ki date me US se CPL karna is more expensive compare to India. Fast hai US me training that is for sure. South Africa is the cheapest. In US it will cost you more than 65L from a good flying school.

True; also CPL in US is more expensive now - Flying will take approx. 45 - 50 Lakhs Food and accommodation will cost 10 Lakhs approximately (assuming you finish training in 1 year) Conversion flying will cost 3 Lakhs approx. Visa, travel, misc. costs and a buffer amount - 5 Lakhs Total :- 63 - 68 Lakhs

Correction - Anyone who has a LOT of money along with medical fitness, good psychomotor skills, quick decision making (to name a few key attributes) can get trained to become a commercial pilot. To get a job however you need a LOT of perseverance, patience and passion which everyone doesn't have (even if they have the money). Hence, 99% people who become pilots really want to be pilots.

Investment vs earning is not comparable now. Cost to complete the training is now 60 lakhs and if you opt for cadet pilot program then it is 1.2 crore (includes all hidden cost). He is absolutely right about Air India salary and they were really paid well back then. Technically there has been no hike in salaries compared to inflation and cost involved to become Pilot. I have been flying since 16 years now and he is absoluetly right "Golden era of aviation has gone". Recently pilots are already battling with system for rest periods related to flight duty limitations.

@@Jay_Singh_Chouhan. You will survive only if you are passionate about flying. People who just think about money and glamour does not last much. It was difficult & Stressful job earlier and has become tougher with time. Fact is people also use to think that Pilots dont need to study much but it has become clearer with time that ypu have to study a lot however, good part is that it is that field where your studies will not go waste because you imply it daily while you fly. You do get good salary but there are hurdles to reach their and as I said earlier cost invloved to earning ratio is very poor in our country now. Plus you do have to wait for atleast 6 months to get job. People have waited for years back in 2010. I am not trying to scare you but making you aware of reality. Despite of all this if you want to be a Pilot and you are passionate about it then you must. Focus on goal and not problems.

But india is currently a developing nation and approx 1000 aircrafts are on order so probably in next 3 to 5 years we can see massive hike in pilot salaries and more job opportunities. So it is possible that in coming years we can see the "New golden era of aviation"
@@Jay_Singh_Chouhan. Correct. It is not just about salaries. It involves worl culture too. Already Pilots are battling for Flight Duty Limitations which is pending in court now. Salaries might hike but not as compared to what it should be as per market standards and gorwing expenses and it will never match the cost to eaening ratio. 15 years back it use to match. In nut shell there has been no significant growth in salaries in last 15 years as compared to increase in expense. Salaries in India is less by 40% than what it is in other countries. On top of that 30% tax is levied by government with no benefit in return. Even country like vietnam is paying more than India now. Salaries of Airlines in UAE, Europe are not even comparable. No wonder people leave once they gain experience. There is already a massive shortage and that is not just because we are short on people but also people are leaving for other countries.
