Friends, Welcome to Meanwhile in the Garage,
As you know, everything I do in my videos I use in my garage.
The bench vice must be large, high-quality and comfortable.
I had an idea for a long time to make large-sized bench vise, when I had to work with large details, it was necessary to use two vices, which is very inconvenient.
So I decided to make my own bench vise with a large girth, so that it would be possible to work with large and not only things.
I am very pleased when one of my long-standing ideas becomes a reality.
Next, I plan to make a mobile table on which I will attach these bench vice, so it will be very convenient for me to fix large and heavy things in order to make welding or grind something.
In any case, I do not think that this vice will remain without work.
By the way, in my last videos I often used the word homemade, I said this because the garage is in my house and I do things as if at home, but it turns out that many people did not like the fact that I had a Lathe and a milling machine.
Once I myself really wanted to have the right materials and tools at hand, I also came to this not in one day.
Enjoy watching friends.
I read almost all the comments and try to answer all your questions.
Greetings from the Garage

  • Dude this is one phenomenal piece of work on ur part. I've never seen a vise like this one evert so I have to salute u for a job brilliantly done. U got real skills man. I can only dream about having ur skill with metalwork. I'm about to embark on a build of my own but it's completely new to me and I'm a little bit, nae very weary of the task in front of me. I haven't worked with metal since I was 11/12/13 and I certainly haven't worked with Lathe's or welding since that time when I was in secondary school. I'm about to turn 51 yrs of age this October so I'm behind the curve a fair bit but I'm a quick learner and will please God catch up to the pint that I can build my own Table saw. The Arbor with the belt driven motor is the one thing I'm really unsure about. Thanks for maing this video my friend. It's really inspiring me to be better when I watch content like this. Keep them coming my bro and best of luck in the fiuture, not that u need luck with the skills u have. LOL I wish u all the luck in the world nonetheless my bro. Salute from Dublin, IRE.

One of the best rifles made was made by a prisoner in prison with basic tools . Watch the making of the Springfield rifle . The tools might make it easer and faster , but the mind and will makes it possible . Do not give up on yourselves . Ладно бы в место китайской шпильки на токарном сделал нормальные винты с упорной резьбой и закалил, а гайки из чугуна, как на нормальных тисах.

  • Not bad. But maybe some self adhesive felt strips on the inside of the outer square tubing to wipe debris of and prevent it from getting in the tube? And maybe a way to turn the handle with a battery powered screw driver, seems it needs many turns, probably gets tiring to open it all the way.

  • Que bien!! Gran ingenio y destreza. Un super like.
