Insta-clicked, got right into the groove, until I got to this discrimination whining. Threw up in my mouth a little, found out I was being guilt-tripped by a bunch of helper whiteys, then threw up some more. Why can't they just make some fucking music, instead of hitting people over the head with their "message" of white guilt. There's so much good music left to discover so... on to the next item in my playlist.
So happy with the last song. Curupira it's a brazilian folklore creature that protects the forests. It's always on fire, has backwards feet and kills people that tries to harm the jungle
I heard of a similar creature when I was a kid and travelled to northern Peru. It is known as the Chununa, lives in the forest and also has backwards feet. Local kids were terrified of it :-)
@@jay-zo3gn Really interesting. There's an overlap between the folklore from Latin America cultures. One example is the chupa-cabra. I've heard multiple tales of it from different countries
There's also a figure in the Peruvian Amazon called Chullachaqui, trickster and protector of the forest, with one goat leg. Natives told me to be careful what tree I pee on, because some are sacred to Chullachaqui. If he's near you'll hear him knocking on the giant roots of the Lupuna tree.

African 70s funk music will never die. It keeps emerging from every point of the globe. Praise to the African elders, like Fela, Sir Victor and many others across the continent and the diaspora like Baba James. Also, praises to MKPE for walking in the footsteps of the elders. More strength!
There is as much or more afrobeat and jazz, prog rock, and psychedelic rock, in this album as there is funk.

That first one has some elements that really remind me of Marc Ribot playing a Lounge Lizards tune off Voice of Chunk. Not really any other albums that sound like that album so this is a very good thing.

Although I'm aware that millions and millions of people cannot say that deliberately as they've fallen victims to social, political, religious, and economic oppression.
