I love the show but the tank episode would have been so much better if rick actually shot the tank.
Jacket says the guy who wore it was a capt. in the marine corps. the marine corps was part of the navy back then.
Why did u do her like that only 500 and made 3000
Hi YT BLXED! We love to hear that! Thanks for being a fan of Pawn Stars
I think just to be honest and a upstanding business when stuff like this happens they should contact seller and give them something for the misunderstanding. Bicycle sale. it's the way I'd roll especially since an Expert wasn't called in which seams to be standard practice anymore
That girl watching this episode finding out her bike was worth 5G is screaming at the TV right now 🤣
Lol yeah
That's what happens when ur stupid and do not do your research and want to sell fast
@@gray5175 why do you say that? Cause people need to do there research so then yeah I would be moron
Rick totally knew the bike was worth way more than 500
He new what he was doing you see he didn't call know one
When Rick doesn't call a expert before purchasing means he knows it's valuable, she got robbed.
When they buy something without an expert and then it turns out to be a fail its totally ok, but when its the other way around its instanly a scam. Ok nice mindset there, are you feminist or racist towards white guys by any chance? Cause you share the IQ.
(NOPE) You share the iq of a babies bottle kid calm yourself
Exactly
All you people crying about Rick robbing people need to learn about how a pawnshop works. Y'all would be out of business in a month if you were in charge of the place.
I get what you're saying, but if the seller doesn't do their own research, then that's their own fault.
I think Chum is the most generous when it comes to paying for the items for resale.
No way he screwed that chick , the coat was appraised at 6500 and he paid 3000 🤦♂️
@@TJC6059 which is completely fair for the resell market. They could expect to realistically sell it for around $4500-$5000
@@TJC6059 The patches can sell for $6500. The patches are on a jacket. You have to remove the patches and then individually sell them and also keep track of them and store them before you can get the opportunity to make the sale. You have no clue what economics are and think they're going to find a buyer the next week who'll buy it for $6500 as is, when that's clearly not the case. $3000 for a few dozen items that can take years to sell is a fair price.
It’s a business, it’s so easy for people to forget
He offered less than half for that jacket lmao
I keep expecting Harrison Ford to kick in the door and snarl “this belongs in a museum!”

It was a marketing stunt for sure. Guy got an ad on National tv with an “expert” declaring that his asking price is fair. Rick probably got paid a fee for advertising it.

Nah he normally would have went even lower, he almost always simps if you watch some more of their videos.
I just love how Rick laughs at his own jokes. Lol. Props to Chum for always giving genuine offers.
He offered $2500 for a jacket worth $6500 and made out it was a perfectly reasonable offer 😂😭
Whenever Rick says, “sweet!”, you know that you received a really raw end of the deal.

Rebecca enters the chat
Mark doesn’t have an apparent financial interest.
@@DarkwingDuck1818 Rebecca ain't all that at all. In fact in one of the episodes she said a book couldn't be as old as the seller thought because there was black ink and black ink hadn't been invented yet. The problem is if you looked closely you could tell it wasn't black ink it was a mixture of different colors together to make a dark mixture. She is kinda lame actually but people go crazy for her 'cause she's a chic.

The sword guy was the best one. Didn’t get angry at the appraisal, accepted it and agreed with it, didn’t get upset by the lowball and admitted they were too far apart so didn’t waste his time by an offer. Even after he admitted Mark was right. I wish more customers would be like this

I really respect the history expert. He doesn't appraise the items so he isn't complicit in experts giving the price within the range of asking price if the item is more valuable, he doesn't help with ripping people off. He just looks at the items, tells their historical value and their authenticity. You can really see he is a principled man.
thats on tv..dummy. Chances in real life everyone, appraiser, seller, gets a cut in one way or another. Anyone think appraisers would rub down on notice like that for free,is missing certain portions of their brain

I can’t get over people selling things that were so important to their family members, especially to for something silly like a vacation...
same
Because a vacation is more valuable than something just sitting in storage in the house in a box lol
Tay But not more important than history. Especially when a direct family member is part of it.
yeah, but do their grandparents say that it's a family heirloom? they have to keep it and not sell it? no dude, most of the stuff that they got from their family members mostly just given to them, not an heirloom, they can do anything with it because for the most part, the thing will probably just gets in the way and dont do anything with it, so they have the right to sell it whenever you like it or not and you can't do anything about it
Lol yeah not go me tho
Call this the Mark Hall Patton hour!!! Definitely one of the best experts to ever grace the show. I love how he doesn't give prices on items,,,, he's only about the history of things,,, not the value. He seems like a really nice guy as well. I would love to pick his brain 🧠 for hours.
My friend has an army jeep from the 40's she got from her father. We used to call him Popeye when he'd come home from work in it, when we were kids in the early 60's. Her father is deceased now and its mostly kept in the garage except its used for parades. We loved it as kids!
I can't imagine selling something that my grandpa brought back from WW2
That's because you're not a gambling addict that spent his life savings in Vegas casinos. At least that's why I assume these lowlives are selling their family heirlooms.
Some people don't look at things in a sentimental way. My brother in law is like that. For instance, I have my grandfather's pocket watch. I wouldn't sell it because it was my grandfather's pocket watch and it means more to me than whatever it's worth, but if it were my brother in law and his grandfather had given him his pocket watch, he'd look at it and say "That's a nice watch. Bet I can get $100 for it."
who cares!? give me that money...
I hear ya. My uncle fought in WW2. He collected a few coins from every country they liberated, and a bullet. Why a bullet, no idea. Before he passed he gave all this to me, plus a few other things including his uniform and helmet. Same as you, I cant imagine ever getting rid of any of it.

Did it for TV...Hopefully the man got paid.

Classic pawn stars!! 2 mins in and Chumlee already says “Dont be a cheapskate rick, this things obviously dope!”
That “restoration” on the handcart absolutely killed the value in the eyes of a collector. He removed many original parts and put a cheap krylon paint “job” on it (if you can even call it that). I would’ve bought the pre-restoration cart for $1000 all day any day. I wouldn’t touch the “restored” one with a 10 foot pole.
Yeah that guy is a kook, almost all of his work has a similar end result. I can't imagine why the show uses him.
You wouldn't buy the cart for $1000. If you really wanted one, you would go out and buy one. LOL
That’s because I don’t need a cart from WWII. But if I wanted one, this one would be the last one I’d look at.

Why do people sell their grandfather's items

Rick: I can only pay you 20% of the items value, because it’s going to be a tough sell. After buying it: Buyers are going to be lined out the door to buy this item!

Pawn shops usually give you 1/5th of the actual value of items. Its like a universal standard for pawn shop haggling.

Watching Rick negotiating throughout the years, I actually think he is a clever sneaky fella lol. He pretends to go really low to force them to bring the price down. He technically hardly ever gets a bad deal. He is always winning.

It has always bothered me that Rick can't say "cavalry." The "expert" said it, too. Must be a Vegas thing. CALVARY is the site where Jesus Christ was crucified. CAVALRY is a mounted military unit. 1st Cavalry is called "1st Cav" not "1st Cal."

It’s really amazing that none of these experts are ever busy when Rick calls them up to appraise random pawn shop items.
what do you expect them to be doing in broad daylight ? catching their beauty sleep ?
It's random. The sellers are scheduled with appointments to come in. The experts are prebooked for that time slot. If the experts do the appraisal in front of the seller, they will already have given the real higher appraisal off camera.
