Watch out for Noah Lyle's And Tebogo. Coleman too
Usain Bolt's records might stand for decades now. I don't see anyone on the horizon even coming close. The fastest runners today are all high 9.7x. No one is threatening to run a 9.6x, let alone get close to 9.58.
Oh without a doubt. Dude was different.
Letsile tebogo will break the 100 and 200 record one day

9.58 is insanity. Just as you said, no one is running sub 9.7 right now, so Usain's record looks like it'll stay intact for quite sometime. I wonder what the person running sub 9.57 will look like 👀

Funny things. The highschooler that beat Lyles failed the drug later in the year xD
That's unfortunate.
If Bolt had some more discipline,he would have lowered 9.59.He always slowed to impress the crowd in the last few meters
His focus was winning titles not running fast times

Its crazy how Bolt was always ready for the big races. Not just physically but also mentally an absolut beast.
Gay is not the second fastest, Blake is! Gay had a +2.0 m/s tailwind in his 9.69, which is barely legal; Blake had basically no wind of any kind during his 9.69 run.
Legit tho like Gay is crazy fast but saying he’s faster than Blake is objectively not true
Скажи еще что Блейк не был в туалете перед забегом и у него были лишные 300 граммов
Tbh, Gay had a higher top speed, and got injured right before the 2008 olympics. I bet he coulda run 9.65-9.68 then
@@footballvidshd5421 He does have a higher top speed but Blake can hold his form for longer. Blake is faster than Gay and Gay is the clear 3rd fastest.
If we are talking about fastest times then yes Yohan Blake is definitely faster but Tyson Gay has more faster times than Yohan Blake and just because you have the faster time doesn’t make you a overall better sprinter for example Florence Joyner is not the GOAT of female 100m because she has less sub 11s than Shelly Ann Fraser pryce therefore I consider Tyson Gay a better sprinter than Yohan Blake though Yohan Blake still has the faster time(note that in 200m Yohan Blake is 100% better than Tyson Gay)
Nice video!Usain was truly amazing!
Can you all stop saying Tyson Gay is the second fastest of all time....check your facts...its Yohan Blake

Thanks, good video.
I would say Zharnel Hughes is the WL for 2023, he’s the first one to run it.
Would rather Lyles because no tailwind so it’s more impressive.
You can also say the same thing about Coleman
Christian coleman had the fastest time accounting for winds.
Lyles is equal to the WL time and World champion so I guess he really is the WL.

If Usain Bolt has a son, he can beat the world record.
In a race where .1 seconds make a huge difference, improving the start time seems to be easy pickings, or so it seems.

i will never understand why they slow down right before the finish line to celebrate...
I'm so damn fast I can afford to celebrate before the finish line. What part of that don't you understand . . . hahahahahaha
At the Olympics it doesn't matter how fast you win. You win the gold medal if you win. That is amazing, but that is it. In Berlin where he did, there was big money to be made if he breaks thr world record. This premium is usually not even officially announced. It makes total sense what he did. He go the gold medal amd WR at Olympics and then the true world record at a seven figure payout event
They want to impress the crowd by doing that! i know its cool to make better times but they just want the gold medal and nothing more

Why is the 100m gping backwards? Even excluding Bolt we had two athletes running under 9.7 over a decade ago, and now the best time of 2023 was 9.83? With all the advancements in training, nutrition, recovery, even track surfaces and the "super spikes", why are we so far off now?
Because 9.83 is enough to win gold now. Back in Bolts era, it wasnt. In 2012 u didnt even get a medal with that.
Its kind of crazy that 9.83 was the limit and 3 athletes ran that time
If you think about it, a decade ago there too was only a hand full of sprinters able to run sub 9.75. Imagine today there was just one person running 9.6ish times and the rest around 9.8, nobody would then say 100m is moving backwards just because thereis one single person achieving exceptional times. Without fact checking I'm actually guessing that the 100 has befome deeper when it comes to the number of people running sub 10, its only a matter of time until one of those guys manages to break out.
Also over 200 people like lyles, tebogo or knighton have proven that the talent is still there, running times comparable to those from blake and bolt a decade ago
@@haidesmo You are right that there are more people running under 10s now than 10 years ago, however this is a very small movement of 0.02-0.04s where many runners were just over 10s and now are 9.97-9.99. 10s is still >4% off the world record though, and >3% off what multiple people other than Bolt had done over a decade ago. Using 10s is pretty arbitrary, it would be like measuring the depth of marathons by the number of people running sub 2:06, which is almost double the number of athletes as a 10s 100m. I am talking about the real top end, those medalling at International level. As I said multiple people excluding Bolt ran sub 9.7 over a decade ago, and nobody has got close since. Even extending to 9.8, from 2008-2012 2-3 athletes ran sub 9.8 every year, with 3 being most common. Since then the average has been less than 1, even excluding 2020. In the last 11 years there have been 4 years where NO ONE has run under 9.8s

Bolt never ran 9.74. He ran 9.76 in Jamaica and then 9.72 in New York.
You mean 9.72s? Usain Bolt already set the World Record in 2008 several months before the Olympics. But it wasn't at a big race. Usain Bolt's real introduction as a household name was, of course, the 9.69s in Beijing at the Olympics, where his laces weren't done up, and he slowed down well before the finish line.
His personal best was 9.72 before 9.69 in Beijing in 2008.

These guys are adults, pros and have top trainers helping them, but they're only about 0.5 to 1.0 second faster than some high schoolers and middle schoolers. The record for the region I'm in, and this is in Ontario Canada, is 10.89 for Midget (under 14 yrs), 10.53 for Junior, and 10.41 for Senior. In the USA the record is 9.98 for highschool. I just thought because of all the extra years of training, good nutritient, enhencements, and being and adult would give the pros a huge advantage, but really the result between pros and amateur is quite slim.
