  • i am new to this tagelharpa stuff, i really want one, but i wanna know where the price starts and what is the difference to a high quality and a low quality tagelharpa, obviously i see myself in the middle cause im new. Also is there only one Tagelharpa or are there diffrent types of tagelharpas, which one should i get as a beginner. I for myself like a dark sound.

    • Hello! My talharpas and jouhikkos start at $600 (including shipping), you can find out more in my Etsy shop - www.etsy.com/shop/CrossroadMusic In general I make standard talharpas and jouhikkos and bass jouhikkos. Bass have a very low, deep and dark sound, but they are more difficult to learn than regular talharpas. For your request, in my opinion, an regular talharpa, like the one in the video, is suitable. From it you can extract various archaic sounds and more fun ones too)

    • @lyreofthecrossroads Are there any survived ancient tunes, or now we can only hear the modern-day composed norse music?

      @herzogronzinger3771@herzogronzinger37717 ай бұрын
    • @@herzogronzinger3771 The second option is more relevant. I don’t know whether the ancients recorded music and whether the recordings have survived, I think not. Therefore, all we can do is recreate the instruments and play melodies through them. Mystical experience does not go unnoticed too, but it is already beyond the realm of historical reconstruction.

    • @@lyreofthecrossroadsFor sure it would be interesting to hear some points on this topic from scientists of this field...like music historians et cetera... For sure some old folk tunes survived since the middle ages and the "sound" of each regional folk music also carried on at least some typical aspects of the older songs and styles and so on... (And also physics for sure play a role - the typical difference in the first Intervall on a string instrument would be e.g. a 5th...it should be the natural next Intervall after the octave. So one might suggest that certain instruments were tuned in a similar manner - and because of things like that one might know what is possible to play on that particular instrument...)

    • @@gawelszczytkowski1991 I learned a long time ago to tune all my lyres without using a tuner, a person a thousand years ago did just that, he had an ear and a voice, based on which he tuned the instrument. There was no standardization; each musician tuned the instrument individually, depending on his voice and hearing
