    • 🥀 I've always wondered, what was the tall flowering hedge next to the spruce tree? it was part of the privet hedge around Versailles!! I began to watch tours in 2020, have watched all videos since then. Its truly amazing, seeing a beautiful transformation , from an already beautiful garden, to another stunning garden.🥀

  • My husband and I are on 18 acres and 10 are pasture. We maintain it all by ourselves and are in our 60’s. We have 6 raised garden beds in our enclosed garden, 8 huge flower beds around the house, 10 chickens/ coop, cows, a green house, 2 barns, a garage and a 2 acre pond. We do not make videos however, but it is a full time job to maintain our property! We have raised 3 children on this property and now are the grandparents of 7 grandchildren that love our farm! I feel so blessed to get to live this life we have built on this land! Farm life is the Best Life!

I remember when it popped up as a suggestion, that I saw this woman out in a dirt field digging holes and planting, I thought okay...my interest was peaked. You both are just amazing and a blessing to watch, not only your garden grown, but your beautiful family! Really well done on the before and after shots...this video was beautifully edited, I can't imagine the time it took to edit it, so thank you very much for all your hard work, it is very much appreciated! Sorry for such a long comment, but I feel so blessed to have found your channel & I tell my children and anyone else who will listen about it! Have a beautiful rest of the week! • OMG you guys included footage of the first video of yours i ever watched, the circle around the rams head urn in the versailles garden!! i almost got emotional for a bit there, thinking how much amazing work you've done since then, and how far i've come since then. i wasn't even into gardening when i watched it, meanwhile now i'm pursuing a career in native landscaping/restoration. I could never thank you guys enough for how much you've been instrumental in my plant journey ever since i started watching when i was 17-18 to now (25) and beyond. does make me wonder, do you ever think about the wonderful influence you've had online? like to people like me or really anyone who at the start of watching didn't even garden themselves, yet now gardening is their life?

  • I’ve always had an easy time of mentally navigating your gardens thanks to your garden tours. In fact, I think a garden tour that began in what was still your new-ish vegetable garden back in 2020 is how I originally found your channel. The work you’ve put into it since then is mind-boggling to me, as a gardener with chronic pain and limitations on my mobility. Thank you for sharing so much of it, especially for those of us who can’t always garden with our hearts the way we’d like. 😄❤

  • Hello Laura and Aaron, Thank you for making this video, kudos to the people that called for this video; it’s the video I didn’t know I needed 😬. Firstly, I would like to say what an amazing job you have done in growing your business, all the hard work has paid off from a bystander point of view. Secondly, it gave me joy to see the progress you made has created efficiencies and comfort for you, as I hope you are around for a long time. Thirdly, I wish you continued success in all you do, you deserve it. Lastly, if you want to get rid of the name “Versailles Garden” may I suggest, because of its proximity to your house the “Colonnade” or “Portico” garden? Great video!

I have a tiny yard and at 72 after suffering a broken arm, I got a Orange Glory Maple, some Montaugh Daisies, grass, Russian Sage and 17 shrubs. I eliminated half the lawn. This year I’m breaking up my perennials to spread and give to family and friends. You inspire me. I find no matter how upset I may be by things in life, all I need is to work in my yard and it all disappears. ❤

  • What your channel has provided us is a continuous source of vision and courage to consider the possibility of scale. Most homeowners are provided with the contractor's special of anemic subdivision lawn that runs up from a public sidewalk to a 3ft wide foundational border planted with the token shrubs of mugo pine, juniper tams, and the one or two ill-suited tea rose or Stella d'Oro daylillies and feel sad and depressed that we don't feel inspired to go & spend some time outside. Your inspiration had been to look at stuff and have the courage that if you don't like it, even a nice, well maintained, established landscape, that you can tear it out and make it what you truly love. Its the hardscape that is the most expensive and hardest to envision; the patios and stone walls, the hedges and fountains. Thank you for the courage. ❤

  • I am not a commenter, but the home and garden you guys have built is just beyond words. I get tears in my eyes with almost every video. My homesite is on 2 acres, and I have a section of pasture/farm land that's been in my family for 5 generations. My husband and I took it over in 2015 and took the opposite approach; starting with remodeling of the home and moving to the landscape last. I am blessed to have a 50 x 100' greenhouse (not a Hartley-I cannot even dare to dream); but the work and love you've built is more than an inspiration. I have incorporated many items from your videos, and we're installing the 4x6 post/hoselinks all around the property this spring (I have them in the greenhouse already, but seeing your take on the 360 degree outdoor swivel is just a beautiful thing!). I just wanted to thank you and commend your dedication and work. Thank God every single day for your beautiful family-every single member, and all the many blessings bestowed upon you!

This past weekend, I watched "September Garden Tour 2017" Laura talked about future plans for what is now the Pond Garden. She was wanting to turn that area into a pasture with horses and chickens, etc (when the chicken coop was still a tool shed) and Aaron wanted to plant it up differently. I love what it has become, and your plan for that area next spring. It's amazing to watch back where you started and how far you've come. The greatest changes you have made are your beautiful children.♡ May your family continue to be blessed for many years to come. Thank you for taking us along on your journey ♡

Age (80 yrs) has crept up on me and I can only dream of what I would love to accomplish. Unfortunately gardening is on hold for a while... Nevertheless your videos get me through my morning coffee hour (+). Last year I was a winner of the garden link hose but neglected to claim my prize as I am computer illiterate and didn't check in in time. It's going to be a BEAUTIFL spring. Loving every episode of your magic touch, a hard working couple (and helpers) and loving Family. You two are the perfect example of what the American Family life should and can be. Aaron does a magnificent filming job and captures each episode with matching music composition . Anxious to see how the Little Red Barn develops. My how your children are going to love this acreage. • What a walk down memory lane! Loved listening to the two of you discuss the different parts of the garden and how each one came to be. I have longed for a complete "sky view" of the property. It was marvelous. I am taking bets that the "dirt lands" will forever be "the dirt lands." Just like Versailles, nothing else will ever seem quite right. I think Versailles is a sweet name for that patch of garden, it has aspirations! We had a shed in our back yard that morphed into a two story building, affectionately know as the "shanty." Over the years, it has continued to grow and now houses a two bedroom guest house. We have tried to shift to "guest house" over "shanty" but it fails to stick. So our guest house has taken on a whimsical and contrarian name. So be it.

When the tree went down, it hit another branch from another tree that struck the young man. That limb was less than four inches in diameter. The owner of the tree service ended up closing his business because he constantly worried about his guys. You were so right to get it cleared out immediately.

It is impossible to do it all by yourselves, you will have no time for other things or sleep for that matter. Isn't it crazy how we think that barely anything was done and then you look back and wow! You realize that a lot was done, I mean, a lot.! Bravo!!!! Lol, that doesn't mean that it's nearly ever enough!😅😅😅 We are so impatient, ridiculous! At least I am, I hardly ever think that it's enough done. Looking forward to it all, everything that is going to be happening 🤸🤸🤸 Blessings 💞🤗💞

The changes you have made are absolutely stunning! I have been watching since you lived in the townhouse and you did a small corner of Aaron’s mom’s yard! I have watched you guys grow in your knowledge of gardening and your kiddos grow also!
