Obviously the smith in the video does a heck of a lot better fit and finish that he does with the flat. I can't say which is better. In isolation this video tells me I better buy some drawing dies. :-)
Flat because I can use hand held tools
On a small hammer drawing dies Big hammer flat only
I agree, light hammers work better when force is applied to a smaller area.
I prefer flat dies. Much easier to use tooling on!
Seems obvious. Combination die. Best of both.
Only drawing dies for me.
