    • Yeah I'd guess it's just decoration to make it more 'mug' like. I think most people would hold the mug without the use of the handle anyways because the weight would be more comfortable that way. I'd imagine holding only the handle would cause a very uneven weight. Maybe they should have a little disclaimer though about the fact the handles aren't suitable for actual use, and are just for decorative purposes!

    • Yeah but you can see that the mug itself is not thick so it’s not a problem. If she posted this is probably because she did this before and it’s good for her.

    • I’m a ceramic student so I can help you answer :D Bisque firing is important but not necessarily required for making ceramics, the technique she use is called “single firing”, when she glaze a bone dry ceramic and skipped bisque firing. It depends on the glaze you use but single firing has a risk of the glaze cracking, but if you use food-grade, commercial-use glazes like she did(I never use that), bisque firing is not really necessary

    @taratrncevic@taratrncevic3 жыл бұрын
    • The highest temperature an oven (from home) has, is not enough to fire ceramics. The air dry clay indeed doesn't need to go to the oven but you can't use it to eat/drink from it, only decorating ur house or put jewelry/keys in it. I don't have a professional oven either, but I managed to rent one from a ceramic school in my town. So you can search on google your local ceramic schools or art schools and send an email that you want to rent their oven. Someone will accept!

    • I guess she doesn't mind wearing rings while doing that. Honestly, I would feel uncomfortable doing something like this with rings, as they would fill up with product or hinder me to do the details. But it's a matter of taste, I'm not telling her to take them off to do it, it just seems strange to me.

  • Don’t worry if you don’t have a kiln, chances are you have an arts center in your nearest town where you can fire things for a fee or a subscription.

    • I do at as a hobby and fire them at the local school..just ask around, some schools or craft stores may have a kiln (or ask local artists if you can use theirs) :)

  • Why is everyone in the comments talking about the kiln. Did she say its with no kiln no, she said it had no wheel required. she also said pottery from home not easy diy pottery from home. Read the titles lol

    • ...how many people have a kiln in their home???? she even had to leave her house to use it, so it's not even "pottery from home" lol 😂😂😂. it's clickbait, plain and simple.
