In 2019, Thiago Santos fought for UFC gold. Instead of taking home the belt, he left with injuries that sidelined him for 16 months. Defying the odds was nothing new for “Marreta,” who forged his survivor skills as a child in Rio de Janeiro.

  • Nice to see videos of guys like Santos. His story is better than most of the hype trains they try to blow up.

  • This put me on a rollercoaster of emotions for sure. When he fought Glover, I could see that he was still dangerous, but Glover was on a mission at that point and almost unbeatable. Anyway, wish Santos nothing but the best, he was for sure one of a kind at his prime ❤.

  • Very touching and well made video. Like Dana always says, it's a crazy sport, one fight can change your life. For good or for bad. I've been following Thiago for many years, every speech, every interview, he's that nice, humble and gentle guy. Nothing but respect.

  • Thiago santos' knee was already messed up. If you watch his fight vs Anthony Smith you can see him having issues with stability their too. Luckily Smith is an easier fight.
