Hyponatremia is one of the toughest electrolyte problem to be managed on medical floor. Highly recommended for resident physicians
Man I saw a new vid, thought 'cool', saw hyponatremia, thought 'easy, low salt, should be short'. Then saw the length.....3hrs??!!!!! Who the heck can talk about salt for three hours??!!!! Then I remembered who I was watching. 😁😉🙌
This is why ninja nerd is the best! Explains subjects in depth like no one else! Thank you very much!!😁😁👍🏼🙏🏼
Yup 👍
not tryna give u ideas but thank God your videos are free 😳 I gen don’t know what i would do without your insane summaries of all these very specific topics you are better than any mentor i have at work fr
I'm gonna owe my nursing degree to this man. Why don't teachers teach this way anymore?
Same.
Most don’t know it well enough
Greetings from Germany! Wow you are doing an amazing job! I am an endocrinologist preparing for my board exams and your videos are helping a loooot! Kudos!
Dear Zach, I wanted to express my gratitude for your in-depth coverage of a highly significant medical issue. I just finished watching your comprehensive 3-hour video, and I'm truly grateful for your informative and precise summary. I would like to contribute an essential point regarding the complex topic of elevated UNa in siADH. One might assume that UNa levels should decrease as the kidneys attempt to reabsorb sodium in response to elevated water levels, aiming for a balance. However, due to the heightened water levels and the relatively euvolemic volume status, the RAAS becomes inhibited. Consequently, natriuresis increases, resulting in a rise in UNa levels. I hope this information aids in a better understanding of this crucial subject. Greetings from Germany. Janis
Thank you so so much for sharing topic in an easy and accessible way - future NP here studying for boards. This is the best! THANK YOU!

Ninja nerd is getting me through my med school renal class, so grateful for him! Thank you!!!
Great presentation that helped me understand. I know of a person with this condition of hyponatremia stemming from dysfunction of her pituitary gland. She lives on Gatorade, but regularly ends up in the ER receiving sodium and or potassium drip to regulate her. She drinks a lot of fluids, yet doesn't eat much food, so she has frequent constipation.
Thankyou so much for this lecture. You have made me understand this hard topic very well. You were born to teach Zac. God bless you.
You are one of the best teacher I've ever seen

I was watching videos on intercostal back pain at 11pm and started to fall asleep. I wake up to this guy 5 mins in and I’m now 38 mins in and it’s 1:30am…. 😂 I want to finish but I gotta get to bed! Subbed! Thanks for the entertaining information!

U R literally a life savior, Thanks buddy for ur effort ❤ If there are 3 words that i can describe ur videos are: Wonderful, Simple and clear 😊🙏
perfect information. I really needed it. Thank you.
Great video Zach, I really liked the lecture. There is just one point where I am unsure if you are correct. If a patient is hypokalemic, its mainly their intravasal potassium which is low. It can be true that cells can also be potassium depleted in a case where they have previously tried to correct the intravasal potassium with a shift of potassium. However, it is not the case that cells actively release sodium 'in exchange' for potassium; the exchange process is not a direct 1:1 exchange of potassium for sodium. The sodium-potassium pump works continuously to maintain balance by transporting more sodium out of the cell than it brings potassium in, which is crucial for maintaining the cell's resting potential. This process requires energy (ATP) and is an example of active transport. Therefore, administering potassium can lead to cells taking up more potassium, and the activity of the sodium-potassium pump can contribute to an increase in the extracellular sodium level. However, this is part of the normal function of the pump and not necessarily a direct response to potassium supplementation. Please correct me if I am wrong. Regards Zach, keep up the wonderful work you guys do!
Dear Ninja Nerd, you are the best teacher I have ever had, but just one suggestion. A lot of international students ar listenning to you, so whould be more helpful for us if you talk a little slowly... )))) I can understand you better... thank you in advance.
Love all that you do - this one is a beast!!!
Very useful
Very informative and simple to understand. please shade the light on this scenario . Post transphenoidal resection of the pituitary macroadenoma, the patient gets grandmal seizure serumNA+ 99, loading done but the results are above 145, thyroid function test lower, she has. DI presentation (insidious).
Please make a lecture on white matter of cerebrum and Lateral ventricles of Brain. Please...... Cover the following topics- 1. Commisure fibres 2. Association fibres 3. Projection fibres Really need it, make it as soon as possible.....
This gentleman looks like a basketball ticket scalper, to see and hear him give a coherent medical lecture on sodium levels in the blood is mind blowing. Very Elaine indeed.
Amazing lecture!
Great lecture , thank you
Gracias profesor Zach!

Thank you for your great lectures! I don't understand why fluid loss and loop diuretics can cause both in hypo and hypernatremia? Doesn't ADH work in Hypernatremia?
Just a nice little comprehensive 3 hour lecture
Finally here it comes!
Thank you so much for this explantion, can you please do a video about the difference between osmolality and osmolarity can we use osmolarity unstead of osmolality ?
It is really impressive of your teaching.
You're a true treasure Zach , thank you so much how can I donate ?
