@SaltyMaltyMo3 жыл бұрын
Oh, absolutely ... His use of cellos/double-basses for that gritty, grinding, undertones, is what did for me in adding a tonal context ... moreso with 'The Beast' ... ... and that scene where, in addition to Rodger Deakins legendary photography, of figures moving in front of a setting sun, you know something ugly is going to occur in that tunnel ... It's if, perhaps factually, we are shown a glimpse into the _real_ War on Drugs, where the CIA's SOG/DoD Tier 1 units undertake ops that are as pitch black as ZeroDarkThirty, with no moon, or any light at all, and emphasises Orwell's axiom that we can sleep safely in our beds, due to rough men ready to do harm ... In fact, I'm certain that if even a fraction of what the CIA gets upto, sanctioned or not, gets known, it would be completely unpalatable to a whole swathe of the public. Sometimes not knowing what we don't know is a plus ... [Edit: a combination of cocaine, and flu medication, with perhaps a overdose of the former, meant he passed at 48. At 47, I feel kinda old, but when you compare his age to that of, say, Ennio Morricone, when the latter died, 48 _is_ rather young ...]

Beautiful scene, shows just how good things can be with just barely ambient music. Also hats off to that masked sicario, clearly the plan worked for him to almost assassinate her character, considering how badass these soldiers are shown to be. Can we just talk about the soundtrack a bit?? The soundtrack composed by Jóhann Jóhannsson brought this movie to a whole different level. Without his input, scenes would not have been as tense and dark throughout. It's a damn shame he died 3 years later.
One of my all time favourite movie scene. Never gets old.
Sicario is not only a masterpiece, this film also has a brilliant ending. Part 2 was also very good and I'm still waiting for part 3. my favorite character is the American with the glasses in the passenger seat.
I remember being sleeping on a bus travel, the bus got stuck in a traffic jam, when I opened my eyes and look trough the window to see where we were I saw a policeman shooting a mugger right in the head. It was a lot like this scene.
Really ??

What’s great about this scene is that fact that the two cars were acting as decoys so the sicario (the one who shot at Emily Blunts character) could come up and try to take them out
