Directed by Istling Mirche and conceptualised by Ogilvy Bengaluru, this film was a powerful voice against discrimination on the basis of gender in workplaces! Won Gold at Campaign India Digital Crest awards and a nomination at Woodpecker International Film Festival.
They thought it was a girl and has got the promotion by making the boss "happy" but when they saw it's a man their perception changed.
Thank you for explaining that! The comments section was giving me a headache.
WHat's its relevance to women's day though? If there is nothing showing women empowerment of some kind . Their thinking surely didn't change . Just the assumption that there are gender neutral names .
@@iminalert9289 no it shows how people attribute women's successes to her body. We never give them enough credit. We should stop doing so because to get success women have to work equally hard if not so even more.
Not only they we also thought

I have seen such workplace sexual harassment and I stood up against it and supported as well as encouraged those girls. When I took initiative and intimated to higher authority no one of those girls stood with me and further they said they share good bond with boss and I am the one who misguided and manipulated them to serve my own benefits. That day I know how Karma works. This is why female destiny in majority cases is like this and they go through this. Now think carefully I was fired on next day and currently I am working in different organization but here also these activities are very normal but just imagine now I don't have courage to do anything for these females because I don't want to repeat that shit again. Now I believe this is only karma of these females only. There are so may simple and straight forward guys like me who helps every one but they just use us and go with the bad guys like so called "backbencher are cool" like theory. And further we get in return some nick names like "Champu, Despo, Chutiya etc. And I believe in the current time a person who don't harm anybody, living life simply, do not expect more from others, and helps other "wo chutiya hi to hota he " like me jisne in chakkaro me apni MNC job gava di.-----If my words hurts then sorry but it should be. Because of this thing I have been wholly destroyed.
Yup
@@meetprajapati2868 You helped them once, they ruined your job, that's it, i would say don't do it again, No one can help a woman unless she's willing to help herself, Reminds me of an episode of shameless, fiona the main character tried helping the women in a grocery store (where she started working) who's manager used to demand s e x acts from them in return for their jobs but those women turned on her, these one's are b i t ches, they don't deserve help 🤷♀️ Stay safe..

I love how that women smiles when she sees kiran since she probably didn't think the same story as the mens in that room did.🙌

@@ashishsam i think you are correct but she seems pleasantly surprised while the others seems guilty of judging or something...i maybe wrong. :)

What a story, it's true, when a female gets promotion, people think it's because of her affair with the senior, but when a male does, it's thought to be his hard work and deservance.
But many women seek such promotions and recommends in exchange of sx
@@himanshu-im6ts yes I agree, but not all, it is being generalized by people for all women.
@@meetprajapati2868 bhai bahut bura hua tere saath.
Yes
But, I've seen personally most of the females get promotion through unethical ways, and not through work
Well this shows they have a wrong assumption of Kiran being a female rather than a woman succeeding without hard work . They were guilty of that assumption but not their conserved mentality
Man, i feel, only u got the message....rest are idiots
I too got it
hehe
Guys its just an ad relax yaar
I dont agree. The message was clearly the sexism prevailing in the society which was strengthened by the false name, it wasnt about stereotyping name but gender. Now since kiran is male, no one would judge him or think that he lured the person to get reccommendation, whereas if it were a women, all would have thought that she must have been recommended as a favor
In Andhra Pradesh, kiran is a strictly male name. So, initially I was confused why they are showing a female but got it at the end.
Yaar, film ka naam kya hai
Yahi bas 1:42 min ka film hai
@@RaviKumar-ht3wr film nehi Hain. Yeh ad hain
Yes bro...even I got confused why are they showing female
AP nunchi another guy watching this.. But never thought Kiran would be male or female. Oka manishi ey name aina pettukovachu kada
This ad tells us what we think when we imagine a man and a woman close together. In support of this ad.
Actually the flashback made us believe that. They played with your mind. Had they showed pictures of both male worKing together, we wouldn't have thought like that. Isn't it? They wanted controversy.
bhai mujhe ye ad samajh me nhi aya yeh rajat gay h kya?
@@sujaikrishna5089 they used a femine name and made people think that the other person was a woman and that they were close and had Sexual relationship. But they taught us that how we always imagine a boy and a girl together even if they are just friends.
@@sandyk8654 it was about the perception of the office people in the ad
You are not getting it bro
Writers used Hindi words when they didn't wanted to specify, gender of Kiran like at 00:30. Great work of the advertisement team.
Yes👍👍
It could be made in English too without the use of pronoun she or her Instead using directly name Kiran .

For those who did not understand.....in simple words the guy was telling about 2 employees rajat being the senior and kiran the junior assist...he never said wether kiran is a girl or boy but in the video it was a woman ( ie it is portraying what most of think that kiran is a girl and rajat is recommending kiran because of you know what "typical office affair between the assistant and officer") but in reality kiran is a man....in my understanding a straight man who has been referred to promote due to his hard job.
Thanks vinay
Also they made audience to think kiran is a women
Boss wasn't promoting kiran due to affair as explained by the words The ad showed scenes which were not matching words
Lol so why this concept in women's day dedicated video??? 😂😂😂
how do you know Kiran is straight and that they are not engaged in a gay romance?
It shows that society easily judges a woman's success by her character
This shows how gender can be a great factor between women's life and their success
You totally got it wrong girl
YOU GOT THE WHOLE CONCEPT COMPLETELY WRONG DUDE 😡
I was in corporate for few months, had witnessed such things everyday. I am a woman and I saw some female employees were flirtious, telling lies to their boyfriend and indulge in unethical ways to get favor from boss and seniors at workplace, whereas people who used to work hard and didn't believe in apple-polishing - they never got appreciation or increment. Eventually many started leaving that workplace But those females who get favor do not leave the office till that particular boss is there, or till the boss starts seeing someone else. Not only with bosses, with seniors too. This happens in many office environment. Flattery gives temporary succes, Ladies who genuinely work hard ends up making their career the biggest or being an entrepreneur. Real people believe in themselves, not in favors.
But why are you blaming only the women ? Your narrative is utterly sexist... If the women have given sexual favors then the men have also taken sexual favors...why did the men take it? Why did the boss not ask for their better work performance but agreed to take sexual favors? Whom are the flirtatious women flirting with or making out with ? They aren't raping the bosses? How can an affair be one sided? The bosses also must be lying to their wives? And I don't get what other unethical ways are you talking about them indulging into to get favors from seniors...for which these women can be blamed solely... because any affair can't be solely run without the consent or involvement of the other party. Women seduce men is itself an utterly sexist perspective it ignored the fact that men ask for sexual favors or even if they don't ask for it, men get seduced by women...it's wilful action...so why play cry baby later?
And what about the seniors and the bosses asking for sexual favors from female employees? Rather than asking for and looking at their merits & work performance?
Ladied who genuinely work hard are also asked for sexual favors to get promotions while men get it easily
Hello, nothing was sexist in my comment. Your reply is very exaggerated or you simply aren't attentive to every point and words I have written. First of all, I wrote about our office environment where many people had to suffer due to this issue of partiality and favors. Many Genuine employees had to leave Becoz their work had not been acknowledged without apple polishing. Might not be same for you. Not everyone goes in the same direction for promotions. Some just believe in themselves above everything. Just because your experience is different and you have met nice women all your life doesn't mean women can't do anything wrong. Well, your narrative is very one-sided. You only kept talking about women are just asked for it and only the male bosses and the seniors are guilty becoz men get seduced by women. Oh my God! What kind of thought procedure is it ? Neither all men are same nor all women are. A person who wants to remain in his/her dignity will never entertain such offers, okay ?? There are plenty of opportunities in this world. Someone can take action if such things occur, they can expose it instead of entertaining those seniors. Second, I clearly wrote some of the females - doesn't mean everybody goes this way. Yes some used to lie about their relationship, were extremely flirty and had several affairs. Sexist means discrimination on the basis of gender. I wrote that these bosses eventually start seeing someone else once they are done with someone - So my comment doesn't prove that the boss and seniors were very monk-like either. Most of them don't stay in their boundaries that's why these things occur but doesn't mean all are same, And oh please! Even when a woman is asked for it - she should not approve of it, okay ? I will always stand for those who do not entertain such appalling offers. You actually barked a lot more than you needed to. Otherwise People understood what my point was.
@@praptiverma3861 U are saying absolutely correct.... Women should not approve of such offers, should take action fearlessly... But unfortunately, some just look for shortcuts. You shared a very good point These so called bosses and seniors need to get exposed by women. Yes there are women who entertain them in order to receive increment or promotion... This is no excuse that men get easy promotions. Men also have their own story and struggles while climbing corporate ladder. Nothing is easy for anyone.. Jus a myth that men get it easily. Neither women nor men
It would be hypocrisy to say that we also do not think otherwise. But this ad is a sure eye opener. It deserves to win hearts.
Whoever came up with this has my respect
True....hats off to you guys....for bringing this out of box content
Tata’s advertisements are always worth watching♥️
This is by far one of the best indian commercials I've seen. Keep up the good work my Indian brothers and sisters

Those who did not understood this concept or comments that Rajat is gay ,tells what mentality these people have.
You saying gay people are bad?
@@Cosplayinghuman read the comment properly. I meant some people in the comments section are saying that Rajat was gay
@@user-nz4io9vo6r LoL I didn't understood neither the ad nor your comment, I'm confused af, was he gay?
@@Cosplayinghuman So you think it is all about sex?Think beyond those 6 inches, bro!
For all those ppl who dint understand, saying kiran is gay n shit, he is not lmao n its tat wen he s speaking about kiran, we all imagine a girl, a typical affair between an assistant n her boss types, cause thats how most of the people look at women s success- being attractive, seducing her boss, thus gaining a promotion- but when we see a man, out entire opinion changes, now we look at kiran like he s worked hard n earned his right to be promoted, had kiran been a women, we wld hv had the same point of view, "she dint work hard" "is getting promoted cause she is attractive" "had an affair with the boss" etc etc, whereas, even if kiran was a women, she worked hard to get that letter of recommendation, thats why the video at last says its YOUR point of view that changes everything, n the society generally views men n women very differently.
No matter how many times I watch this, I get goosebumps!!! Its just on point
Now this is what great advertising looks like
Hats off to this ad Am literally finding myself in sense same to the office managers in the room.
Nice of youtube for recommending me this after 3 years
Him being a boy changed everyone's perspective but if it was a girl no one would have believed her abilities, so what exactly is this ad trying to say?
It's trying to portray the difference in thinking about women's capabilities in the workplace. That gender difference that you mentioned is exactly what the ad is calling out.
that's just so beautiful! my first ever short film that I loved.... marvellous idea.. just aesthetic! being a 16 y/o teen it feels so great to have these projects around us. I am feeling safe.
What a message bro The script writer got some brain To explain everything just with a single name

What a brilliant idea to portray! ❤️🔥
After reading the comments I be like Big brains when this vid isn't even that hard to interpret😂
Some people weren't getting it though🙂
Nice one. Really most of them have that mindset. Women get lots in office because of their beauty. There are more hard and smart working women around us. we should respect them and treat them equally.
If women get lots because of their beauty then men are the one who are wilfully giving it to them..

I am glad when he first said about Kiran I imagined a boy 😊.
Fantastic... Hats off to the Creative Agency / Team for such a Brilliant concept creation
Really beautiful concept and direction, truely loved the theme
Wow! What a concept! Loved it! ♥️
1. It's true when a woman is successful at work, ppl don't digest it that easily. 2. It's true all women don't go to 'that' extra mile to be successful at work. Finally... 3. It's also true ALL WOMEN ARE NOT ALIKE.
Why women have to go "that" extra mile but not men to get success...who asks them? Who provides them with such options... Why don't we dare to ask it first
@@barnaliadhikary9421 lol you are such a misandrist

Mind blow away add... Well done guys
Concept is too good... out of the box..
Man or a women doesn't make a big difference.... its all about the way we see and think...
@Mithilesh M that's not what see meant.
I was thinking that the character they were showing will come and give a good speech to these seniors... but yeah this was also a good ending
The best thing about this is that they're showing even the woman thinking that Kiran is a female. This clearly shows how the society as a whole looks at women's success not just men. Kudos to the script writer
Script writer of this ad has a marvellous vision
There are 2 messages in the video 1. It is not necessary that only girls have names like Kiran. 2. Most important message is that how the perception changes with the sex. If a girl is working hard then people are assuming her as a characterless and in the same situation man is assumed as a hard-working employee.
What is the role of red saree-d woman.
@Siya Thankyou
Yes. You show the vdo and moments with a girl and create this in the audience's mind and make them guilty. Nice. You shook the heart👍
No, they tried to show the point of view that each person here in the group would have had. Grow up and start accepting that this happens. Mindsets need changing!!
It gave me goosebumps a little
This was actually so good
A big tight slap on our society 👏🏻👏🏻
I thought Kiran was the guy that was working with the girl late at night. Was it just me?

I have never felt so embarassed about myself Although i say that men and women are equal But i don't think i am that politically correct as i think i am.. Trying to change🙂
Be proud of yourself for being honest to yourself. People like you are really rare. Change for the better!
You are a rare gem😌❤
First step towards that is acknowledging that men and women are indeed different. The more we are able to accept our differences the more we will be able to be on the same page and respect each other
Is duniya me hard working dono gender ke log hote he. Sabki apni apni bhumika hoti he aur sabhi nibhaate he. Bus hume unke is sangharsh ko sahi se dekhne waali aakhen chahiye. Sadly, the reality is different and exactly matches to what every viewer has assumed here. Every opportunity be it promotion or hikes or onsites, everything is based on the favouritism. Accept it or not. This is reality.

Lol ppl who thinks that kiran is gay might not be guilty of gender stereotyping ( since in both the cases they would have thought that kiran must have lured) but guilty of misunderstanding human and hardwork

But there also a fact that... They showed the couple everytime.. When That person was talking about kiran... Which makes it more obvious to think its a girl
It was the imagination of the boss
