As an experienced parent (25,18,17,15), total hats off to you and Lydia. You both have dealt with this with a 5 month old with absolute expert level style 👌 Can we all take a moment to acknowledge just how lovely little Alfie is, that smile could cheer up the grumpiest person. So glad you 3 are able to get to a place where you can all rest, it looks phenomenal. Shocked at the service from Emirates but i hope Novotel now get a lot of custom, it's those people that really run this world ❤ So, flight tomorrow? 🤞

Even though there was chaos, Alfie took things like a champ. He probably was thinking as long as I'm fed, dad changing my nappy, napping and being entertained...I'm set. lol.
Love the way as a fam you roll with the punches, turn what most people would have had a breakdown over into an extra holiday (no doubt it was a stress filled nightmare). As Lydia says your optimism is admirable.

This may be one of the best videos i have watched in so long. To see someone genuinely work thought adversity and make the best of it in a way to make a once in a lifetime experience is a rarity, but a really welcome sight. Also have to say that the 3 of you are amazing.

Making the best out of a horrible situation. Really does show your guys tenacity. Most people would just be shouting at the airport staff and getting annoyed, but sometimes there is nothing you can do. Really enjoyed this vlog!

Tom, please, don't shake Alfie like you did at the store on day 4. There's a syndrome called Shaken Baby Syndrome. It may be caused by this strongs shakes or these small falls plays. SBS is the leading cause of fatal head injuries in children under two, with a risk of death of about 25%.The most common symptoms include retinal bleeds, multiple fractures of the long bones, and subdural hematomas. Tom I honestly really appreciate that you've been level headed with how everything is going. Yes its not in your control but it's so nice that you don't automatically start screaming and cursing because it's not going your way. I work at a job that it happens all the time and I'm the go to person to having to take the brunt of it even if I can't exactly fix the issue. Having that one person even not that often just being more chill and being nice about a situation helps so much. Thanks for being so good and can't wait to see how your adventures unfold
I've been in similar situations both as a child with my parents and as a solo adult traveller, and it is harrowing and frustrating to say the least. One time I was so stressed I broke down into tears. Hats off to both of you for staying as calm as you can and being positive. Communication from the airlines & airports is so key. Bouncing passengers around is not the way. Even just saying "sorry we just have no resources right now but we're trying" is a start. And Alfie is the bestest 💙
