I came to Christ almost a year ago. My weakness, fear, and anxieties almost brought me to the brink. This message gives me new life everytime. It’s all Jesus. It’s all Him. He’s got it, and He loves me. Anxiety is a sin I’ve struggled with since I was a child, I know how offensive it is to him and yet he is so gentle with me. I often wonder if people who had abusive fathers commonly struggle this way. When I was a child I had to take the wheel when my father drove drunk. Now I try to take it from Christ when I get scared instead of trust him. I’m not dodging responsibility for my actions, I’m still responsible for it. I need to learn how to trust. My life depends on it. LORD please teach me to trust you, please heal me from the anxiety and PTSD. Please teach me to love you through it when it comes. I’m so sorry for my fear and cowardice. I wanna be brave. Please fill me with your spirit. Edit: Thank you so much. Thank you everyone for your comments and encouragement. I love you all.
I am so glad to hear that you have committed your life to Christ, and that you are learning what it means to trust him. He is so good, as you said. For myself, the journey has been wonderful. The Devil, on the other hand, makes sinful practices appear appealing, but it always end up devastating. He doesn't want us to look to Christ, but the end result of not looking to Christ is very sad. So as we learn to trust the Lord, and to obey him, knowing that he has a wonderful plan for us, the result is precious fruit. There is nothing as awesome as truly following Christ. And of course, we don't follow Christ because of how it makes us feel, but because of who he is - the Lord, the king, and rightfully on the throne. So don't give up. It does take some time to, usually, to overcome a lifetime of bad habits and sinful practices. But, it is worth every step of overcoming self. Dying self, taking up our cross, and following Christ. Keep looking to Christ, learning, and growing!
Your willingness is precious in His sight. I have had trouble myself. I started going to Celebrate Recovery, Christ centered for habits, hurts and hang ups. It is great and theres a lot of caring people who have struggles themselves but have found help and strength, and overcoming it through it and Christ. Many have food before the meeting as well. It's totally worth it. I'm always looking forward to the next meeting. Now, if I can just find work, I'd be even better. I will trust in Jehova Jireh, our provider. Know he didn't come to condemn, but to save us. Do we even understand the depths of His love, mercy and compassion? Celebrate recovery has helped me, I know that it will help you. It's a safe place to share what is going on in your life and receive the help and prayers of people going through similar things. You're not alone, people just hide their struggles, appearing to be great to others, but wrestling with things on the inside. The Lord bless you as you seek His will.

My dear child, NEVER LET YOUR FAITH BE DETERMINED BY THE CIRCUMSTANCES IN YOUR LIFE. IF THE SON THEREFORE SHALL MAKE YOU FREE, YE SHALL BE FREE INDEED. JOHN 8:36 The hardest thing to comprehend as a new Christian is understanding we can't do this thing called life by ourselves. Nor can we lean on our own understanding (that's a hard one, cause we have to understand things in our journey down life's road) it's when we get off the narrow path and start adding our preconceived notions where we start to error. Well God must think this about me, or i just can't match up to his standards.. do you see my connection? In a simpler form i will say " our brain cannot fully understand what God has in store for us. 1st Corinthians 2:9 read it for yourself. It is not what you do that gives you Christ's Salvation..that IS ACHIEVED only by GOD'S GRACE. THE VERY FACT THAT YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THE NEED TO PLEASE GOD, THE VERY FACT YOU EVEN CALL UPON GOD, THE VERY FACT YOU EVEN TYPED YOUR MESSAGE, IS PROOF GOD HAS CALLED YOU TO CHRIST..YOU ARE ONE OF HIS SONS SHEEP. AND HE WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU. When you have your bouts of anxiety or depression remember God is still God and if you trust him and his plan for you (you then begin to strip away the power the anxiety and PTSD has in your life) remember the christian walk is a life long process.. pray, read your bible ALOT.. Confess your sins, go to a church that actually teaches, verse by verse of the bible. Have fellowship with other Godly believers (this is so important) and ask God to show you the ministry of serving him.. visiting the sick, helping the poor, hand out bible tracts, and encouraging others. When you're down i find nothing brings one out of it faster than helping those in worse shape. Best prayers to you dear child. Don't be so hard on yourself. God loves you.

I pray that God will help me to love Him with all my heart, soul, mind and strength. He is so merciful to me.
This is where faith comes in. Satan will do everything to convince you God is not real, He doesn’t love you, you’ll never be good enough for God, and a million other lies. But God loves you with an everlasting love, Jeremiah 31:3, and as you grow in your relationship with God, your trust in and love for Him will deepen and flourish. And remember, don’t rely on your ‘feelings’ because they deceive us. Stand on what you know to be true even if you don’t always ’feel’ a certain way. Be blessed!

I do not doubt that you will find Salvation if you are seeking. _“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you."_ (Matthew 7:7) Keep reading the Bible, praying, and listening to books like this (Dwight Moody's audiobook The Way to God is very good as well). If you have sins that exist as a barrier between you and Christ, confess them to Christ; or if you don't even know what those sins are, ask Him to reveal it to you so you know what to confess and give up for Him. Nevertheless, we come to the cross with our burdens and cannot release ourselves up or burdens until we come to the cross. I believe that you will find salvation if you seek the Lord with all your heart. He promises that, and my own experience has been the same.

so thankful God thru his spirit convicted and drew me the day I was saved !!!! I didnt even plan on being in church the day I was saved , I was in Jean's. my wife and I were separated for a few days or a week or so , I was broken and felt I had lost everything , we were married only a few months prior , I had been going to a little church on a gravel road and heard the gospel preached powerfully but didnt really know how to respond until the marriage separation and brokenness got my attention, I showed up to church and his Spirit hit me with conviction and after a while trying to hide my tears I hurried up front and fell to my knees and cried out for the Lord to save and forgive me with a broken and contrite spirit and , I did not pray any prescribed prayer , just salvation and forgiveness is what I prayed for in my Jean's and tennis shoes and a gray shirt , not that it matters what we are wearing . thankfully God sees the heart !!! blessed be the name of the Lord !!!!!!

I had to be broken and admit my personal powerlessness. I needed God to do for me what I could not do for myself. I asked for His help and forgiveness. I admitted that I was lost with out Him.

I’ve been saved for about 10 years now and this is exactly what I needed to hear. I’ve grown so much and overcame so many vices but many of my old stubborn sins still remain and for some reason I felt discouraged lately like God was losing patience with me, or like “I should know better by now” and I imagined his patience growing thin with me. When I receive any form of blessings from him I have been confused and felt so unworthy. Truly it is amazing the way he does justify the ungodly, and how he does accept us as his own children. I feel so encouraged by this to get back out there and share my faith and keep trying to do his will! Amen for this book!

I am fortunate in this life to listen to such great teaching of the Word. This is one of God’s General. Authentic teaching including a few Charles Finley, Moody, Myles Munroe , Smith Wigglesworth. Jesus died 2000 years ago. He took our sins away. Once we accepted Christ as our Lord and Saviour he resides in us. We are not living in the flesh but of the Spirit. Romans 8:9. Everything has been given to us already. Salvation is a gift. The Holy Spirit is our greatest teacher. Never give up. Jesus loves us all.🙌

The reminder throughout the first or second chapter that Jesus died for the ungodly, so look to him and be saved, how he brings forgiveness and repentance. The last chapter or so he shares how Jesus is exalted at the right hand of God and still governs all that happens using the bitter and the sweet to create in me a better mind towards God. The enemy wants us to focus on our trials that come as a means of discouragement, and if we only focus on the trial it does bring discouragement. We need to keep looking to Jesus, and contemplate the cross, how much he suffered so that we can be saved from God's eternal wrath that is coming, that creates greater affection for the savior and a desire to honor him in all that we do. Look to Jesus, Look to Jesus, Look to Jesu. 😊

I feel so condemned in myself. I did my 3 year Ministry and had so much passion in me. I got sick and battle to walk and lost my car and can't get to a church My work are draining me to survive and feels If I'm lost. Please pray for me. I can get out of this condemnation❤and just find myself again.
I believe that the Lord allows things to happen to us, to test us. To see if we understand that is all about him, and not about us. That doesn't make those experiences fun, but to know that it is a time of testing does help. Keep looking to the Lord and praising him, no matter what. He will work out the details as he wishes, and he is good. His plans are ultimately wonderful.

Friend, you are in a good place, to have a heart for change. I was thinking about what Jesus said, that whoever wants to follow him, should deny himself, take up their cross, and follow Him. The problem with sin is that it binds us, and it can be hard to break free. Possible, with faith and being willing to give up everything, no matter how hard it may be to the flesh. Always remember, with Christ who strengthens us, all things are possible (no matter how much the flesh cries out in protest).

The Lord God brought this to me as I sept in the night. I don’t know where it came from. It was He who did this and routed the enemy from my midst. He used it to cause me to return to Him, and put the world aside. It is a miracle of His love for me. It played out of nowhere in my ear and awoke me in the night to the voice what Spurge wrote and conviction and repentance overcame me. I thank God for His goodness to me.

I'm sorry, but Jesus is more than a man. The below is only a portion of who Jesus really is. There are so many verses that show you Christ's divine nature. He is the Messiah: The woman said to him, “I know that Messiah is coming (he who is called Christ). When he comes, he will tell us all things.” Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am he.” He is the Word who became flesh: And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. - John 1:14 He is more than the angels: For to which of the angels did God ever say, “You are my Son, today I have begotten you”? Or again, “I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son”? - Hebrews 1:5 He is worthy of many wonderful names: For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. - Isaiah 9:6 He continues forever, without beginning or end: He is without father or mother or genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but resembling the Son of God he continues a priest forever. - Hebrews 7:3 This becomes even more evident when another priest arises in the likeness of Melchizedek, who has become a priest, not on the basis of a legal requirement concerning bodily descent, but by the power of an indestructible life. - Hebrews 7:15-16
Some say Jesus Christ was just a man, or maybe a great teacher. But He was and is much more than that. The Bible says Jesus is unique in both His person and His purpose. He wasn’t just some spiritual individual during His time on earth; He was both God’s Son (John 3:16) and God Himself-God in human flesh (1 Timothy 3:16). Yes, He was fully man, but He was also fully God (Colossians 2:9). The claims Jesus claimed to be God. It might be hard to understand how this could be true, but it’s important to remember that God is much bigger and more powerful than we can comprehend. We do know that Jesus said He existed before Abraham (John 8:58). He claimed that He and His Father are one (John 10:30), and that He is equal with the Father (John 5:17-18). Not only did He claim to be God, but He also claimed to have the power of God. He said He has the authority to judge the nations (Matthew 25:31-46). He claims the authority to raise people from the dead (John 5:25-29) and to forgive sins (Mark 2:5-7)-things only God can do (1 Samuel 2:6; Isaiah 43:25). Further, Jesus says He has the power to answer prayers (John 14:13-14), and that He will be with His followers always (Matthew 28:20). The New Testament equates Jesus to the creator of the universe (John 1:3), and in John 16:15, He says, “All that belongs to the Father is mine.” But where’s the proof? Claiming to be something, as Jesus claimed to be God, doesn’t make it true. Where’s the evidence that He is God? Jesus’ identity isn’t based solely on what He says, but on what He does. And He has left a lot of evidence that He is God. That evidence includes fulfilled prophecy and recorded miracles in which Jesus reversed the laws of nature. He also lived a sinless life (Hebrews 4:15), something no one else has done. The ultimate proof of His divinity, however, was His resurrection from the dead after His death on the cross. No one else has ever risen from the dead on his own. Did Jesus ever say, ‘I am God’? If someone said to you, “I am God,” would you believe him? Many people who believe in one God would think the person is blaspheming. Even if Jesus said the exact words, “I am God,” many people would not have believed Him or even heard what He had to say. Yet, He did give us reasons to believe such a claim without using these words. In Luke 4:8, Jesus says, “It is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God and serve Him only.'” He said and showed many times that He is the Lord. Jesus says, for example, that He is “the first and the last” (Revelation 1:17, 22:13), which God the Father says in Isaiah 44:6. But maybe you’re looking for a place in the Bible where Jesus says, “I am God; worship me” in those exact words. If we suggest that Jesus could only claim to be God by saying that one sentence, we might also ask where He says, “I am a great teacher, but not God,” or, “I am just a prophet; don’t worship me.” The Bible doesn’t say that, either. The good news is that Jesus told us He is God in many different ways! He has made it clear that He and God the Father are one (John 10:30), and says in John 14:6, “I am the way and the truth and the life.” Who else could claim these things except God? Does that mean there are multiple gods? Believing Jesus is God doesn’t mean there are multiple gods. Followers of Jesus believe in one God in three persons. As Billy Graham once explained, “God has shown Himself to us in three ways-as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Each has a separate function-and yet they are all united as one God. “Let me illustrate it this way. Have you ever thought of some of the things we see around us that are both three-and yet also one? Centuries ago, St. Patrick used a clover leaf to teach the Irish about this-it has three leaves, and yet is still only one leaf. Or think of water. A quart of water can be ice, water, or steam-but it’s still the same quart of water.” How can Jesus be God if He is God’s Son? If Jesus is God’s Son, does that mean God had a wife? God has never had a wife. Calling Jesus God’s Son is an expression of His role in relation to God the Father. Unlike us, Jesus was not conceived by two earthly parents; He was born of a virgin through a miraculous work of God. He was born holy, without sin. Being born of a virgin might seem impossible-even Jesus’ mother, Mary, asked, “How will this be? (Luke 1:34)-yet God is all-powerful and made a way for the holy Jesus to be born a human. In Matthew 1:20, an angel tells Mary’s fiancé, Joseph, that what is conceived in Mary “is from the Holy Spirit.” Jesus was not born out of a sexual relationship between God and Mary, but instead out of a miracle by God through the Holy Spirit. Jesus was both fully God and fully human. It is also significant that the most thorough Gospel account of the virgin birth was written by Luke, a medical doctor. If anyone knew the impossibility of a virgin birth, it was Luke-yet, after careful research, he concluded that it was a fact. The God who was powerful enough to create the universe was also powerful enough to bring Jesus into the world without a human father. His miraculous birth is just one more testament to His deity. Why should we care who Jesus is? There is one way to heaven, one way to be free from your sin and to have a relationship with God. That’s through Jesus Christ. Acts 4:12 says, “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” To have eternal life in heaven, you must put your trust in Jesus. Here’s why: We all sin, meaning we all fall short of God’s perfect standard. The consequence of sin is death (Romans 6:23). That means eternal separation from God. But because Jesus lived a sinless life, His death on the cross provided the perfect sacrifice for our sins. Because He defeated death by rising again, we can have eternal life in the presence of God when we put our trust in Him. >> Learn more about how to trust Jesus. Hundreds of people saw and believed in the risen Christ after His death and resurrection, and countless people in the past 2,000 years have discovered that only Jesus can meet the deepest longings and needs of the human heart. In Jesus Christ alone “are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” (Colossians 2:3). Can we trust what the Bible says about Him? The Bible tells us that Jesus Christ is God, and there are many reasons we can trust the Bible. (Find “Is the Bible true?” under the Common Questions section for five of them.) Not only do we have many reasons to believe that the text of the Bible is true, but many will find that reading the Bible allows God to speak to them-perhaps not audibly, but through His words. While there are different translations of the Bible, the same core message is the same-that God loves us and freely offers us eternal life if we accept Jesus as our Savior. Different translations exist in an effort to make the Bible understandable to various audiences; however, the major doctrines-and the person of Jesus Christ-remain the same. If you’re curious about Jesus or what the Bible says about Him, read the book of John in the Bible. It’s a great place to start.

I have cried for years.. I have the fear of GOD.. I am no closer to Him then I was 18 yrs ago.. I can't cry or pray anymore. I want to be saved more than all the gold on earth but it doesn't look like it's going to happen...
Hi Kathy. Have you considered that it may be because you're asking for something, rather than trusting in something that already is? Meaning, crisis already died on the cross, and he promises that all who believe in him will be saved. So it's a matter of looking to him, and trusting him, rather than getting or obtaining something. Does that make sense?

I agree that we should always read everything in context as you were saying. You have to ask when you see the word “saved”, saved from what because saved doesn’t always mean saved from hell. In fact the majority of the time it has nothing to do with salvation from sin.
